Booked last minute as our other hotel was not in such a great area. Hermanus is absolutely stunning with so much to see and do. Upon arriving at the hotel it was very secure and we were welcomed from the car by managers and porters. On finding out we were celebrating our honeymoon we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was gorgeous, absolutely sensational with a four poster bed, jacuzzi bath and balcony with view of the sea and the pool. The staff made our stay with a bottle of fizz, recommendations and wonderful smiles and service. Breakfast is very special and the facilities are perfect. Really added to our honeymoon in SA.

Dear Guest Hales300 Thank you so much for the kind words. It was such a pleasure to welcome you to our lovely hotel. Every guest arriving at our doors is special and becomes part of the family. A proper welcome is always in order as we were delighted to share this special time with you. Honeymooners are our specialty and it is just part of the culture to treat our guests if we can. The upgrade was just a lovely touch to make this honeymoon even more memorable. If there are rooms available, then we will always make a plan. Add a bottle of bubbly for the occasion and we have a joyous couple. Thank you for sharing this beautiful occasion with us and we truly hope we can welcome you back again soon. I discovered Misty Waves Boutique Hotel Hermanus in October 2018. I was looking at a place with a restaurant which is very convenient. The staff is absolutely amazing, very professional, helpful at all time and smiley. The delicate little attention at night when we come back from dinner for instance is lovely : curtains and blinds are closed, beds are open, chocolate and lavender are on the beds !

Dear Armel It was an absolute honour to welcome you and your family to our hotel. It is not very difficult to attend to guests who are also very kind and cheerful so it was just a pleasure. The staff all feel that in order to provide the best service they really have to embrace the etiquette of the hotel. This comes with evening turn-down service and attending to guest requests. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and perhaps we can welcome you back to our shores again. Regards Samantha Jackson - General Manager

We spent a weekend at this stunning hotel for my son’s 21st Birthday. It was not our first time, we have been going there for well over 10 years. They made his birthday very special, decorated the room with rose petals, free Bubbly, Lindt chocolates and cupcakes. The staff were very mindful of the Covid 19 pandemic, we felt safe at all times. Misty Waves Boutique Hotel is one of our favourite places to stay!

This was the third time we have stayed at Misty Waves. We really cannot fault any part of the hotel offering. From booking, through our reception at the hotel, to the spotless large double room, the lovely ambience in this family run business, and prompt attention to any request we had (not many) we can thoroughly recommend this establishment.. The restaurant is owned by the hotel and is leased out to managers to run it. This aspect was satisfactory.

We stayed in the Annexe, not the main hotel. The rooms were large, modern and of a very good standard, just not as close to the sea, but some with decent views. The Heritage restuarant on the premises does a set and a la carte breakfast, as well as a good lunch and dinner selection. Staff were extremely helpful in every way, from arranging transport to reserving the small cinema in the hotel. Would definitely visit again.

We are beyond happy with the hotel and staff. Our wedding had ended a bit late unfortunately arrived late at the hotel. Jason accommodated our dilemma and treated us with professionalism. We enjoyed the amazing room that was decorated with flower petals as well as the delicious breakfast the following morning.

Our checkout was a breeze and the staff’s assistance with luggage was too-shelf treatment.

Reception is reached via a narrow driveway with very attractive shrubs, flowers and sculptures along one side.Reception area itself is stunningly furnished with more sculptures, works of art, antique furniture etc creating an impressive first impression.
Check in is simple and staff are professional and friendly.and very happy to help with any further information you might require on the town or local tours etc.
The rooms also are very well-presented with all the facilities you might expect and many with sea views and the chance to glimpse whales in the bay.
There is an attractive small pool area and a restaurant serving a first rate breakfast with a wide choice and all well laid out.We had dinner there two nights and the food was first rate and staff were great with excellent advice on wine choices if needed.
Overall a short stay at one of the best hotels I ever visited and one you must consider if you are in the area.

Upon arrival Jason and the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The facilities and rooms were beautifully decorated, lovely and clean. The classical esthetic of the hotel is very relaxing and the pool amenities was inviting and refreshing to relax at. The central location of the hotel made experiencing Hermanus by foot very easy, and everything we wanted to experience in our short that was within walking distance. If anything can be improved we would suggest the management to offer better value for the breakfast options. For the price more was expected than a selection of muesli and fruit salads. Hats off to the waiting staff at the restaurant who were very eager to tend to your needs. We would definitely recommend a stay at Misty Waves Hotel.

Sat on the seafront with many rooms having great views of the whales in season this little gem is deserving of its high Trip Advisor rating
Large comfortable rooms, pool area and breakfast restaurant
The key winner though is all the staff were very friendly. Sam even helped sort a motoring fine a picked up and found hard to resolve given the messy SA admin processes.
Absolutely worth a visit
Only minor recommendations for the hotel are to drop the bathroom mirror by a foot in room 101 so anyone less that 6 foot can see into it and get a bar with a sea view!

Dear Guest Clockhouse2014 We are very grateful for this wonderful review. We are truly blessed to be amongst the best hotels in South Africa. Our location, the staff, the atmosphere and the ambiance of the rooms all emanate the same luxurious feeling and the guests relate to that. All staff are on hand to assist with any inquiries and we are happy that we could assist with your motoring fine, we know how strenuous SA admin gets. Thank you for the heads up on the mirrors, we made sure to attend to that as soon as possible and it has been changed! Kind Regards Maxie Lerm

My friends and I have just returned home from a delightful 2 day stay at Misty Waves in Hermanus. What a pleasure. The room was really comfortable with english stately furniturel which was perfectly maintained and sitting on the little verandah having tea on the stoep with its breathtaking sea views was quite unbelievable. I loved the way that the staircase was designed as when we heard that we were going into room 203 second floor I was a bit apprehensive but not a worry at all. They were easily and spaciously managed. The whole area is ssurrounded by the most beautiful gardens that made it all so special. The dinner in the restaurant in the heritage cottage in the garden served the most succulent and tasty beef ragout that I have ever enjoyed in my entire eating out days. You will never be sorry for staying at the misty waves hotel. I will definitely be going back.
