This is a B&B not a boutique hotel and as such should be considered in that context. The welcome we had from the staff was very friendly. The room was large with great sea views (where we saw loads of Whales from) and was very rustic which I think is different from being tired or dated. If you are going...

We spent two nights at the Auberge Burgundy in one of the two suites they have. When arriving we were a little shocked at seeing the building work going on next door as we hadn't been told about this. But our stay was at the weekend and fortunately other than a little earlier wake-up call by some whistling outside the...

Went against the travel agent's recommendation and booked another hotel in Hermanus (based on Trip Advisor reviews) and it took 5 minutes to work out what a huge mistake I'd made - for the discerning traveller my advice is do not book into the Misty Waves! Having spotted the Auberge Burgundy (which is where we were recommended) I headed straight...

Hermanus is a really lovely little town, a nice to place to do some whale watching (the main purpose of our stay.) The Auberge hotel is situated right near the water, many shops and restaurants, so it was easy to walk to dinner, and the point where you could see the whales. Note: the best whale watching is in the...

This is a beautiful hotel and well worth considering if you plan to visit Hermanus. We had read reviews on Tripadvisor and looked at the Auberge Burgundy website, but it still exceeded our expectations. We were there with 2 children aged 11 and 13 and were surprised when they said how nice it was to see children. The brochures we...

Stayed at the Auburge several years ago but only recently discovered this review facility, so future visitors maybe interested in my stay. It is a pretty building and we had a large room with partial sea-view. The beds were comfortable but the rest of the room was looking a bit tired. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment. However, the...

Lovely small hotel in the centre of Hermanus, a few meters from the ocean (no beach) and good restaurants. Built in the style of a Provencale Villa, the Auberge Burgundy also has its own well-known restaurant across the street. The owners take personal care of your well-being. Good value for money. Good for whale watching, but not for swimming. Fantastic...
