The Auberge Burgundy, which is set above the picturesque Old Harbour, in the historic heart of Hermanus (the hub of the famous Whale Route) is a Provencal style boutique hotel with fragrant courtyards and stone terraces, and a touch of old world charm. The Auberge Burgundy offers comfortable accommodation, friendly service and is surrounded by restaurants, the craft market, boutiques, art galleries and quaint shopping malls. It has the salt sea air of one of the world’s most magnificent eco-destinations in the world – the cool blue sea of Walker Bay is within 50 m of our front door.

What a gem! Tucked just off the seafront near shops and restaurants this French style hotel delivers charm and service. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. As you would expect the room had French vibes with the combination of decor and small balcony which looked over the delightful plant filled courtyard. A delicious breakfast was served in their busy Frances restaurant with the buffet being regularly replenished. It was a shame that we had only booked for one night.

It’s a sweet inn on the street. But I feel it needs some love. The room was a bit shabby for the price we paid. And the cold water tap came off in my hand, with the water shooting out the wall straight at me. But the location is perfect. And the staff incredible. Really fabulous. The breakfasts are brilliant. And the spa treatment surpassed all expectations. So tricky to review as it was great and average.

This was my second stay and I loved it. Its very central to town and close to all the restaurants. I'll definitely return. The hotel is spacious with a lovely pool area. They also gifted me a bottle of wine as I was a returning guest.

Our 12th year of staying at this wonderful guesthouse. Everything about our stay is just perfect in every way. We have one of the front suites which is light, airy, has marvellous views of the bay and the harbour and we love to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by, or stroll around the town or walk the cliff path. Breakfasts are fabulous at Francis next door and the restaurant has a wonderful choice of food and staff who serve you with smiles. Thank you Estelle and your team of staff for a perfect stay once again…you show such care, friendliness and professionalism and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

We had a lovely stay , the room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of town. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Only downside was not enough hanging/storage space and the noise from the bar in town was excessive.

Third visit to Auberge Burgundy- and fabulous every time. Lovely ambiance, large airy room very well equipped, and great restaurant serving breakfasts and lunches. We’ll be back again next year when we are over here again.

Beautiful boutique hotel situated on the cliffs right in the heart of Hermanus. There is easy walking access to the Cliff Path and stunning views of the whales in the bay. A short drive to both Grotto Beach and the start of the Hemel and Aardre Wine route. We love our stay here and will definitely visit again.

Pleasantly suprised by this charming little hotel with a little bit of South France flair in Hermanus. The lobby area with fireplace and port wine for guets was lovely, as was the pool and interior courtyard where our room was accessed. Great service team and good breakfast in the adjecent cafe, too! Would gladly visit again.
