We spent Christmas and New Year at the Robin's Nest, and it is a place that we will come back to again and again. The hosts are simply amazing and are so friendly, welcoming and will go out of their way to ensure that your stay is exceptional. The Gardens are so welcoming and are a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of life. There are four rooms, three upstairs and one downstairs (a Garden Room - which is wonderful to step out onto the grass first thing in the morning)... We stayed in Room 1, which boasts satellite TV, a comfortable bed, arm chairs, and a functioning and well maintained kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. The balcony, which runs the length of the building with a staircase down the side, shows beautiful mountain vistas of the foothills of the…
We usually book B and Bs or guest houses in South Africa. This was our first experience of self-catering accommodation and it was delightful. Very helpful owners who provided lots of useful advice. We used the nearby craft beer brewery for dinner and the even closer bakery for breakfast. Good experiences at both. They are only about five minutes walk away. The views from the balcony of our room were lovely. The rooms are large and had everything we needed. There is no air-con but there is a ceiling fan and an additional portable fan which were sufficient. We are happy to recommend Robin’s Nest.
The overall experience was absolutely relaxing and tranquil... Beautiful views, quiet, exceptionally neat and comfortable. Close to the malls (should you need to shop) and lovely places around to have breakfast or to even enjoy a meal on the Beachfront. Very secure and quiet. Lovely hosts and an absolute must to experience !
Comfortable, well-appointed studio room in rural/garden setting in a secure complex but very close to all amenities. The hostess, Leonie, is welcoming and helpful. Lovely spot for a couple of days. Self-catering facilities cleverly adequate for most people and there are restaurants and an excellent bakery/ coffee shop within walking distance. Also a stunning wine outlet!
I had such a lovely time staying at Robin's Nest. Not only were the basics (cleanliness, service, comfort, etc.) taken care of, but the attention to small details were also excellent. Awaiting me when I entered the room, were the most "lekker" (as we say in South Africa) home-baked cookies. And no, not those home-baked cookies you buy in the store with the label "home-baked"; actual home-baked cookies. The hosts are also incredibly friendly, inviting us to join their new-years-braai. It was such a pleasure staying at Robin's Nest.
