Garth and staff were so attentive. Modern, fresh decor. Check out the Dali lithographs/prints! Amazing views towards the ocean, book a sea facing room! Good varied breakfast. Just above Ficks Pool! Whale watching from your patio! Quiet, comfortable sleep.
Great view, fantastic location (town centre can be reached easily and quickly on foot), this is a boutique hotel in all the best ways. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The art is magnificent! The general vibe of this place makes you relax and enter the spirit of a seaside town. The rooms are large, comfortable and well designed with modern and easy-to-use fixtures and fittings, and the social areas feel like places you want to spend some time.
We stayed at 7 on Marine with a group of friends/families! To say the service here was top notch would be an understatement! Garth and his staff were amazing! They served the most amazing breakfast each morning and they really catered to our children as well! Our rooms were not only clean but provided gorgeous views of both the mountains and the ocean! We had a wonderful stay here and if we return to Hermanus, this will be our number one choice! Thank you so much!!!
Only a 2 night stay… wasn’t enough! The boutique hotel is lovely, and the GM “Garth” made this stay perfect. I will be back for his delicious breakfast starters, and personal handcrafted coffee! The best stay of my 13 day South Africa tour!!
Booked a 2 week honeymoon early 2020 due to take place in June 2020. Hermanus was one of our many stops along the garden route, booked a 1 night stay. Due to Covid, we cancelled our wedding and therefore honeymoon March 2020. We had booked 8 hotels in total, and each was cancelled through either Expedia or Booking.com. Fast forward to March 2021, I noticed a payment from Seven On Marine taken on bank statement. Upon obviously enquiring, I was advised it was because we did not cancel our stay 9 months previous... Apart from this being a complete fabrication, as every hotel received our cancellation, they blamed Expedia. Stating they should have taken 100% of the booking, however because they’re nice they’ll only take 50%... To add to this, the hotel wasn’t open for business in June 2020 when this reservation was due to occur. Laughable. I contacted Expedia, who to date have contacted the hotel 3 times to advise them to give full refund. They’ve accepted it was any error on their part. However, unsurprisingly it’s fallen on deaf ears at the hotel. I’m currently in the process of getting the chargeback through my bank, but this has taken time out of my day, and in fact is completely fraudulent. It’s unfathomable that a 5 star hotel will attempt to charge a booking for when it was closed, and 9 months after the hotel reservation. I understand the hospitality sector has been hit hard in South Africa due to Covid, but fraudulent charges to customer a year later is not a good look. We’ve rebooked the honeymoon, and plan to stay at another 5 star nearby, The Marine Hermanus. And I would suggest any Brits doing the garden route that read this, to save the potential hassle by this hotel and to do the same.…
