Value
Blue Whale Resort offers fully equipped self-catering chalets, with abundant space between units that are perfect for social distancing requirements. The Private Nature Reserve, located on the seafront, is only 10km from George central, 13km from George Airport, and only 6km from the N2. Whales can be seen during winter months and dolphins year-round from the comfort of your veranda. It is also one of the best fishing spots in the area and numerous fish species can be caught from the rock beach. Herold's Bay and Victoria Bay are approximately 12 & 18 km away and offer safe bathing. A variety of indigenous birdlife can be observed while walking/cycling on the short hiking trails through indigenous forests and fynbos. The ten chalets are identical, 8 with a beautiful sea view and a nice privately situated setting and 2 chalets situated a little further from the ocean and the rest of the chalets - ideal for large families and also usually less expensive than the other 8 chalets. The chalets and conference facilities are built on 10 hectares of land, zoned as a private nature reserve.

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. The self catering chalet was well equipped and the service was excellent. From the balcony ( Braai area ) , we could view the sea and feel the cool breeze. The location of the self catering sea view chalet was absolutely perfect and the perfect place to relax after a very busy and stressful year. Going down to the rocks where the sea smashes against it nonstop was fantastic and a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing. I must say the location of the resort was good as it's only a view kilometers from George.
Excellent hospitality !

We booked Blue Whale Resort because we wanted a quiet stop over at the sea whilst on our way back home. Because of the covid situation in Cape Town, we cancelled our 3 night stay there and Blue Whale kindly increased our stay to 4 nights. WE WERE NOT SORRY!! The resort was absolutely super for just relaxing and enjoying the incredible beauty viewed from our cottage. The cottage, grounds and infrastructure are superb.
The only consideration that families with children may have is that there is no easy access to the beach and it is necessary to drive to a place where the kiddies can swim etc. BUT for people who are past surfing and want a quiet, peaceful holiday in exquisite surroundings, it is ideal

Nice friendly welcome on arrival, the cottage is situated in such a way that it offers spectacular views of the ocean and the sound of the breaking waves below is quite dramatic, the cottages are spaced well apart to offer one a sense of being completely secluded and alone. The cottages are well equipped, the rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of space. While the resort is situated only 6km from the N2 it is still well off the beaten track and gives one a sense of being in the wild, offering a wonderful retreat to simply relax and enjoy nature. Well worth a return visit.

A beautiful place to chill and de-stress. The chalets are clean and neat and the view is out of this world. Wifi was very intermittent but who needs the outside world with a view this great. Just remember to take your own Beach Towels.

We`ve been to many resorts before, but this one exceeded our expectations - it really ticks all the boxes when it comes down to guest satisfaction. We even extended our stay.
It`s a good destination if you`re looking for a combination of adventure(lots to do in and around the resort) and tranquillity(very peaceful and perfect for some self-time)
We recommend this resort without a doubt!

We enjoyed our stay at Blue Whale Resort and can honestly recommend it to anybody. We stayed in Unit 1 facing the ocean and relaxed on the stoep until late at night. It is quiet, serene with beautiful birds waking you up in the morning. Carla is very helpful and friendly and the unit was clean with everything we needed. Thank you and we hope to see you soon!

Exactly what we needed, beautiful views, whale and dolphin watching, just bring a good set of binoculars. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable with a barbecue area conveniently placed. George town is just a few minutes away to stock up.

What a wonderful resort. The cottage was perfect for us and the view? To be able to see the sea just down a path and hear the water crashing over rocks was perfect. Such a restful place I cannot recommend highly enough. Wonderful

What a beautiful place, worth every cent you won't be disappointed. Best place we stayed in over the past 3 years. it's perfect and so peaceful. The view is mind blowing, a cold whiskey with a fire howling (wood available at reception) and the sound of the ocean waves is just breathtaking.

What an amazing place with the most gorgeous views and fynbos all around you. Whales and dolphins to be seen right from the stoep and ample birdlife to enjoy. Also so private and peaceful. Cannot wait to be back again!
