Arrived at about 18h00 and was booked in, shown around and made to feel welcome within 10 minutes (thanks for the sherry)
After a long drive, the last thing you want to battle with is a "weird" shower setup where the trick to maintain right temperature are learnt by the last day, this was not the case, it worked 100% first time, no issues.
Breakfast was amazing, the scenery fantastic and the all over ambience soothing.
Due to the locality, was able to attend meetings from Oudtshoorn to George easily and timeously.
The room is furnished with enough without being overcrowded, the lack of TV in cabin is fantastic as it allows one to truly appreciate the setting and leaves one feeling rejuvenated, with no small help from the super comfy beds

My parents had won a voucher at Arendsrus. I had come home from Dubai for holiday along with 2 friends. We had originally booked 2 separate rooms but they were very accommodating at Arendsrus and put the 3 of us into the 2 bedroom cottage. It honestly felt like we were on holiday far away and it was just down the road. We had access to use their braai facilities which was a huge privilege for us coming home. We took a 7 km hike at 8 am and it was a very refreshing walk. The staff are so friendly and very accommodating. A beautiful venue and highly recommended.

I had the good fortunate to spend a fabulous 1 night rest at this beautiful country lodge.
It's location is very close to George Town and Redberry Farm.
There is a short gravel road with beautiful scenic views to enter the lodge.
Check in was a breeze and staff are very kind and courteous. 🙂
The rooms are log wooden cabin with awesome finishes and very luxurious...
The views from the balcony are priceless.
If you a bird lover this place is awesome, birds are just below you in the tree tops, the monkeys are also frequent visitors to the balcony area.
There are nature trails and bike hire available.
Stunning outdoor garden..
A true beautiful scenic gem.
The owners have really taken pride and have set a very high standard of quality and excellence and comfort.

We enjoyed a 7 night stay at Arendsrus! The staff and manager were exceptional. Extremely helpful and accommodating. They whole ambiance is beautiful! Very well maintained gardens, great food and spotless clean. I will highly recommend a stay. Much thought went into the little things included in your room including an umbrella and emergency light, two prong plug amongst other things. Thank you all again, we will certainly book another stay when we venture to your area again. PS There is a pool and kids play area as well

Excellent service, great people, and good environment. The manager organised a microwave for us to warm our supper and also gave us free wine! Although, the microwave was subsequently removed and we, unfortunately, needed it. My wife complained that the breakfast cheese has a mould - this is our first breakfast, and she never ate the cheese till we left!

Everything was up to "code" as per current travel guidelines. The views were as breathtaking as advertised and the wooden-stilt-houses immaculate and pristine. The staff, however, were what made Arendsrus memorable for us. They went the extra mile and the small personal touches evident everywhere really blew our mind! We were sad to leave and plan on going back soon!

Nicely appointed, comfortable chalet in a beautiful setting, but the overall experience left a bad taste. We booked 5 months in advance. When we arrived, all the staff were engaged in arrangements for a wedding that was taking place on the premises. The manager gave me the impression he was almost disappointed that we had arrived at all, then told us that, because of the wedding,we could not eat in the hotel restaurant, and would have to eat in our room. When we protested, he reluctantly agreed to allow us to eat in the restaurant but from a very limited choice of dishes. We had hake, for which we were charged far in excess of what is usual for a meal of average quality. Breakfast lacked touches that are generally standard; no milk at the cereal buffet and being told after our breakfast had been served that the seed bread we had ordered was not available.

The lodge is set amongst green pastures and a canopy of trees. It felt like one was on a tree house with all the luxury. Beautifully appointed cabin and great retreat for anyone who wishes to have some quiet time and excellent value for money.
Our breakfast was delicious (prepared by the lovely ladies) - an omelette with spinach and feta - for vegetarians.

Peaceful place. Clean and comfortable. We booked on Afristay and paid on Afristay for bed and breakfast. Upon arrival we were informed that breakfast will be additional to the booking (despite the registration form that say: Will you make use of the free breakfast?) Unfortunately, no management available to discuss, but we were informed by the staff that Afristay publishes outdated information on their webpage. In summary: Nice place to stay; prepare to fork out extra if you book via Afristay.

In Nov 2023 we had to either increase our rates or look at other options to keep costs in line with our services. We thus decided to keep our rates the same but remove the free breakfast. What an absolutely magical, beautiful place to stay. Attention to every small detail, personal service and obvious caring makes it even more special. Breakfasts were delicious with friendly and efficient service. A relaxing start to the day. The charming chalets with stunning forest views are simply superb, cosy and welcoming.
