I'm terribly disappointed in this hotel. I've been staying there for several weeks. A month plus. Paid full rate. No extras included. First few weeks went fine. I have the tendency to clean my own room wherever I go or am. So the cleaners here, only gave me a fresh towel everyday. Then they started getting used to me being there so long, I suppose. And there attitude started changing, gradually. At some stage I had to ask for a towel and just to properly clean the basin and toilet. As there's obviously no products for me to do that myself. So I raised my concern with one of the cleaners. Next day. Nobody greeted me. Rite to the receptionists. The manager knew about this. As I saw her whilst some of the cleaners, combined with other staff members, talked about me and making disrespectful, jokes about me. She laughed. I'm, appalled, shocked and saddened by the fact that they would treat a decent, neat and long staying guest, like myself, in such a manner. I would never in my life stay there again. I actually should've demanded a refund especially for the last week, when things were worst than ever. Friendly and helpful in the beginning. Soon changes to disrespectful, rude staff. Friendly warning!…
Bravo to staff and manager of Protea Outeniqua (Marriott) in George. Chantelle went to a lot of trouble to assist us while all staff members were warm and friendly. We enjoyed the clean room, attention to sanitation and complimentary cappuccino! The hotel is in the centre of the lovely, well-maintained city of George, well in reach of the Garden Route attractions.
Spent a night at the Protea George Outeniqua. We were warmly welcomed by the front of house staff who were really kind and helpful. Checked into our room and lugged our bags up a flight of stairs as there was no lift Both of our suitcases were over 30kg so we didn't think it was fair to expect the porter to carry them. The room was nothing special but comfortable with a large bed. It provided everything we needed as all we wanted was a place to spend the night, as we continued our journey. One thing that was frustrating was the fact that the hotel doesn't normally provide dinner (rather a list of restuarants and take aways is shared with guests), but seeing as it was Christmas a buffet was offered. Unfortunately we weren't told ahead of our arrival despite phoning up to share our arrival time, so we ended up having a meal at McDonald's as that was the only place that was open. If we'd have known we would have held out. Check out was friendly. The hotel's location is good and the staff are a credit to the Protea hotel group.…
We had a one night stop over at Protea Hotel, where we were welcomed by warm and very friendly staff. A gentleman explained where we can find restaurants in the area as well as facilities to our perusal. It come very seldom that one is as pleasantly surprised at a franchise hotel. Linen was fresh, brand new but soft. Neat and clean rooms, despite the building being old. Be sure to consider for a stay on the next visit to beautiful George
We were stranded as our hotel we booked was under renovation. The staff were so helpful and accommodating that they deserve a top rating. Parking was adequate, either off street or behind the hotel. Room had all the amenities, cost and comfortable. The inclusive breakfast was great with a good choice of items. Freshly prepared eggs with minimal oil, seemed very healthy. Value for money was excellent and we would stay again. Well done crew, as good as it gets at the price b
