We arrived on a Friday at 6pm. Parking is secure and off-street, safe on the property behind remote control gates, which gave us peace of mind. However, we noticed that the parking bays were limited and when all the parking bays are full, some cars are parked in. The check in clerk was friendly and helpful. We were directed to our room which was furnished with a king size bed, TV, Aircon, and 1 chair. The bed linen and towels were crisp and clean. There was an ironing board and iron. Also, a kettle, coffee, sugar, tea and creamers were available. All if this made our stay very comfortable because we had everything we needed. Although the room was cozy our en-suit bathroom was spacious and clean with a shower, toilet and basin. Amenities were provided. We had a restful night's sleep both nights in the extremely comfortable king size bed. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious. Starting with a good selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juices, tea or coffee. Followed by a hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans and toast, cooked perfectly to order. I've worked in the hospitality industry for many years and so I'm going to mention where some improvement can be made: The dining area needs more attention in the cleaning department. I noticed that not all the tablecloths had been ironed. Some tablecloths were hanging uneven, with one side of the tablecloth touching the floor and the other side of the tablecloth hanging halfway between the table top and the floor. It's the little things and attention to detail that matter. Furthermore, in the lower dining area our breakfast table had ants because the previous mornings crumbs had not been cleaned up. The glass windows and door of this same area were covered in greasy hand prints and finger prints which need a good clean. The window sills need dusting and the cobwebs in the corners need removing. In other words, the dining area needs a thorough clean. We want to thank Soeteweide North B & B for a wonderful and relaxing and comfortable stay, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would recommend this establishment to other guests, it's definitely value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We would not hesitate to book again. My overall rating of this establishment is 9 out of 10.

On arrival we were shown to our room which was small and had not been well prepared for a 17 day stay. The room was more suitable for a one night stay. However, the manager on duty (Shaun) rectified the matter immediately and assisted us to settle into a more suitable room. Alex and the ladies served us a superb breakfast everyday and attended to our every request. Thus making our stay most enjoyable. The dining area was vibie every morning and everyone was chatting to each other and sharing travel stories. We met guests from various parts of the world and had interesting chats. The location is also great as it is not too far from anything. In the end, our stay at Soeteweide North B&B was most enjoyable and we were rather sad to leave.

I was very disappointed to find out on check in that there is a 'shared' bathroom with other rooms. No where on the site did it ever indicate this. The site gives the impression of 'far more' than one actually receives. The kitchen at the dining room was not very clean at all - a lot of old 'oil' that needs a very deep clean and the fridge freezer was also not great. Also, being from out of town, it would have been good to know about load shedding.

Where to start? We paid by EFT as requested yet 4 days later the same payment went off the credit card. Phoning the numbers on the booking confirmation is useless had to consult Google to get hold of the manager regarding the double payment whom said it will be sorted upon arrival. We arrived with nobody at reception had to phone the manager who said he will be there in 10 minutes yet arrived 35 minutes later with another person whom immediately without greeting was on the attack saying we were late we said we would be there between 14:00 - 15:00 which we never did and mind you clock in is stated on the confirmation till 23:30. The bed was fine however the bathroom was not in the room but across the passage and not private but accessible to everyone. Breakfast was standard and as for the double payment it was said to be paid imminently. well it was not it was paid over less R70 which was apparently for a cleaning fee which once again according to documentation was relevant during COVID for sanitizing. A huge argument ensued between myself and a person called Charl whom insisted that i need to pay this cleaning fee and only after i spelled out to him with screen shots that i have paid the same amount x 2 was the R70 grudgingly refunded. We have traveled a lot over the years and stayed in many places including the neighboring countries and never ever have I come across this kind of disrespectful treatment that we received here in our own backyard as PE is some 320km away and this from an establishment in an upmarket area of George. What was supposed to be a nice break away to the old car show is now an unpleasant memory. Never again will I stay at this establishment nor recommend it to anyone.

I was misinformed via the website, and was booked into a room with no bathroom and was not prepared to walk across the hallway. The next room the smell of paint was fresh and unpleasant with me having to sleep with open windows. The next room I had difficulty locking/opening the room door.
Day 2 I was shocked by the behaviour of the owner, who after knocking on his door, rattled off words and rushed past me, broke his sandals as he jumped into his car and sped away. No apology or explanation of his behaviour towards me. The chef/receptionist tried to cover up for him and would not share the details of the owner. I merely tried to access the lounge as I was getting ready to leave at 07H, after being told that breakfast is only served at 07h30.
I contacted someone at the Tourism Grading Council as in all my travels I have never been treated in this manner.

Never received the room that I booked. The property is communal Living with a shared bathroom. I contacted the owner to sort out an arrangement, only to be told that it is Booking.com's fault that his property does not state it is communal in the advertisement. After following up with booking.com they confirmed that is not true at all, the owner has the ability to change the advertisement at any point.
The owner then stated that if we wanted to stay by ourselves and have a separate bathroom, then we would have to book and pay for the rest of the rooms in the communal house.
I landed up booking alternative accommodation as the owner had promised to refund me. After 2 months I still have not received any refund, the owner has gone as far as blocking my number in order to avoid any accountability on his end. Currently dealing with bookin.com in order to find a resolution. Not concerned about getting my money back, I just don't want any others booking at this place in future to have to go through this or have to deal with the arrogant owner.

Book at your own risk, should you wish to change dates it's a challenge and the telephone reception is terrible. The owner as well is not committed to meet client's needs. You have to mediate to refund process with your own airtime and data, owner gets emails from booking.com but does not respond on time like any other business owner, he will promise to get back to you only so that you cannot bother him anymore, but never call you back with feedback. Should you wish to struggle, make booking at soeteweide and try cancelling, you will go through what i have gone through.

This B&B advertised a room with a private bathroom but on arrival there was only a shared bathroom and not the private bathroom as booked. The accommodation agreed to a full refund and signed a document agreeing to this. I phoned a few days later to chase up refund and I was told it had already been done and I requested proof of refund to be sent on email. This never arrived. I have since phoned and left messages for the owner 4 times (he has never returned my calls) as it turns out I was lied to and this refund was never done. It is now 8 days later, still no refund or call back and I am told the owner is away until early next week so the refund cannot be done until then. The story keeps changing. I would avoid this place and find somewhere else in the area that not only advertises correctly but has an idea on what customer service is.

Very comfortable and luxurious rooms. Facilities are excellent quality and the service too. Beautiful, quiet and safe parking. Better than some 5 stars. Rooms have air-conditioning, netflix, comfortable beds and the host is passionate about the establishment. Would definitely recommend 👌 The spa is a treat 👌

The room was small but sufficient for my requirements. I particularly liked the shower head and amazing smelling shower gel particularly seeing as i had spent 12 hours running in the mountain before i used it. Pleasant, professional staff. I would definitely book here again.
