This was our second visit to the IBIS Guest House. It is a convenient and secure location but requires you to have a car. From there you can reach many wonderful vineyards, Cape Town, Camps Bay, Sea Point and Simons Town etc. The rooms are all very luxurious with comfortable beds and large en-suite bathrooms. Coffee and tea facilities and refrigerator are provided. Some of the rooms have large balconies with wonderful views over the garden and beyond. The gardens and the pool are delightful and well maintained. Staff and hosts are particularly friendly and allow use of their large lounges and dining area. An honesty bar is provided. Lunch and dinner have to be sourced outside but a variety of restaurants are within easy reach by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this Guest House.

The Aloe Cottage was a highlight during our visit to Capetown. The cottage itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. The surrounding gardens are absolutely lovely and the swimming pool felt like a Hollywood movie…:-) We can highly recommend this wonderful location and the great hospitality of its owners👍!

Ibis House is a beautiful house in stunning gardens. James and Suzanne were perfect hosts and made sure our stay was fabulous. The rooms are amazing, we travelled with 2 other couples and we all loved our rooms, each had a uniqueness and were so comfortable. The balconies were an added bonus and contributed to the relaxing experience, as well as the gorgeous pool with the best sumptuous sunbeds. Not forgetting the fresh and tasty breakfasts provided and the helpful and friendly team. It was a wonderful experience and one we will definitely be repeating.

The Ibis House was one of the most beautiful and romantic places I've ever stayed. My fiance and I were upgraded to a room with a wrap around balcony facing the pool and surrounded by lush tress filled with singing birds. The breakfast each morning was truly delicious with farm fresh eggs and croissants straight from the oven! Staff was wonderful and so welcoming. We almost felt like we were in our own home. the next time we're in Cape Town, we'll definitely be returning to The Ibis House. I can't recommend it enough!

Lovely accommodation that makes you feel that you are completely isolated from the world. Super relaxing. Staff was great (thanks again to Lewis who arranged everything so we could have a bbq in the garden), service very good... lovely breakfast. We had a large room with wrap around balcony overlooking the pool... just awesome. The property borders part of ranke mountain reserve so the is a nice and safe 5km walk / run you can do around the common. Tanks to Suzanne and her team for making our break so memorable.... we will be back!

Based on our experience, we can only conclude that the owner is either unprofessional or incompetent.
We booked via Booking.com 3 months before our visit for 4 nights and, due to flight times, we had to change to 3 nights. We were unable to change the booking online so phoned the owner directly and she assured us that she had made the change and that we were all booked in. We heard nothing more. When we arrived they had no record of our booking and were left with nowhere to go.
After a very stressful few hours we did manage to find an alternative, but during
50 years of touring we have NEVER had this happen to us.
Be warned!!!

What a fantastic find. We’ve visited Cape Town numerous times and regret not finding this little gem. much sooner. Boutique hotel and not many rooms. Beautiful “everthing”, friendly, helpful staff; large room, beautiful gardens, (cold) pool. They only serve breakfast and lunch picnic baskets for picnicking on the grounds can be ordered. A car is essential but there are a few restaurants for dinner a short drive away. Wlan available.

Less is More.
Less people, more peace and quiet, less sand, more cool green grass, less cold sea, more warm salty water pool. Less need to dress formerly, more relaxed atmosphere. We could go on and on but please keep this our secret, we want to keep it for ourselves!

Our first stop on a month long trip to South Africa - and what a way to start. Manager Matthew arranged an early check-in after an overnight flight, and when he showed us to our room, we were truly astounded. "Room" doesn't do it justice; "suite" is more appropriate. Huge bedroom, two bathrooms, sitting room, and a wraparound balcony giving magnificent views of the mountains. Throw in a pool and a fine breakfast, and it all added up to a memorable stay. Having travelled round SA before, we were well aware that their guest houses are usually outstanding, but Ibis House was exceptional.
