The Constantia Stables is a perfect home away from home when you visit Cape Town.It is an oasis in this busy city and only 20 minutes by care. They have save parking on the premises. At night you are really close to all the fine restaurants at the wine farms. We visited the Stables for the third time. The owner, Lola Bartlett, is the nicest lady in the world. Before dinner she invites guests to the bar area and serves a killer G&T. You meet other guests and get a lot of information. In the morning, at the perfect breakfast, she asks you about your plans for the day and gives more information. The garden of the Constantia Stables is beautiful and well maintained. There is a small swimming pool. The rooms are very nice and the beds are good. In the morning you wake up with the…
Lovely Guest House with pretty cottages in the garden. You eat breakfast, which is out of this world in the main house. You are invited there for drinks with the owner, Lola every night except Sundays. Lola is kind & full of info about South Africa. The garden is stunningly beautiful with amazingly coloured birds in the trees. You would never believe that you are near roads, as it is quiet with exotic flowers growing around the cottages. Each one has it's own area to sit in the sun or shade.
The Stables is a wonderful B&B on a quiet cup -de sac in Constantia. Its entrance is this green tunnel, giving acces to a large and lush garden. It is on a large plot, with 4 rooms (all own entrance from outside) in the main building and 2 cottages (1 is self catering, but breakfast is included anyway). All the room are decorated in accordance with the building, which gives the whole place an excellent atmosphere. Rooms are clean and well serviced every day. We were in the pony stable and the beds were ever so comfortable. The hostess, Lola, is a wonderful lady who is very hospitable and friendly. There is a little get together with the other guests every night before everyone sets off to dinner and it is in the soy bar area, where Lola keeps the conversation going and has great…
We stayed as a large family for eight nights and each family group carefully allocated rooms to suit their needs. The rooms are well appointed. Nothing was too much to ask. The hospitality was excellent, even chocolate bunnies appeared for the children on Easter Sunday. We felt very relaxed and at home. The breakfasts were amazing and many freshly made pancakes were consumed each day by four little girls. Beautiful gardens. Lots of books to browse through and a small bar to enjoy in the evenings. The swimming pool was an attraction too. Felt safe and secure.
My wife Jenny and I have been staying at The Stables for some 15 years. The cosy and comfortable rooms are superbly equipped with DSTV, Free Wi-Fi and everything one could ask for down to the last detail. The property is simply stunning, set in beautiful gardens and with a rustic charm that is, in our opinion, unique to The Cape. The main house is full of charm with books and pictures everywhere, and guests are invited to meet one another with their host Lola for a free drink in the cosy bar early evening. The crowning glory is Lolas amazing breakfast. The has to be experienced and is without doubt, legendary. A four star B&B with a six star rating from us. Look no further!
