We have just returned from a 9 day stay at Constantia Stables. We have stayed in many different types of accommodation all over the world, but I can honestly say that Constantia Stables is a special place.

The grounds are beautiful, with many different types of trees, shrubs and flowers. A small pool and loungers are available for daytime use. There is a small library for quiet reading.

The studio we stayed in was spotless with beautiful linens, welcome biscuits, coffee, tea and milk in the fridge. It was very spacious, had a balcony and did have self catering facilities and absolutely everything was provided. There was also a small safe in the wardrobe, and adjustable and quiet air conditioning. Every attention to detail has been paid with the aim of making your stay more comfortable.

Lola, our hostess, was a delight and couldn't have made our stay more welcoming. Her breakfasts are fantastic with a vast array of fruits, breads, cheeses and cold meats etc. Additionally a freshly cooked breakfast is available to order.

An intimate bar is a gathering point in the early evening for any guests who wish to sit for a while with a complimentary drink. Lola is a treasure trove of knowledge of the local area, customs and restaurants to visit.

Cape Town and the airport are only 20mins away. There are lots of vineyards and restaurants locally where food is good and inexpensive. The Stables are in a quiet area, and totally secure.

I would completely recommend Constantia Stables as a great experience and the best value for money I have had in a long time.

Our stay at The Stables this year was wonderful, as it always is. Lola is a marvelous host whose generosity and hospitality I unsurpassed. Next to that, she is gentle and has a great sense of humor. The stables is situated very comfortably close to all the interesting sites of Constantia: supermarkets, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Norval Foundation museum, Muizenberg etc. It is also very close to a few excellent Winehouses that offer tastings and superb food in their restaurants.
The Stables' rooms are cottage style, all with their own front door and nicely situated in the lush garden, that is kept very well. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the beds are comfortable. Wifi available in all the rooms, TV's too. Not that you'll have lots of time to watch. The style of the rooms and the main house is rural, do not expect LED lighting or bright white walls. The decor is stylish and consistently executed and feels warm and fits like a glove.
Breakfasts are scrumptious, with all the trimmings you can ask for, and more. The staff are friendly and warm and it really feels like you are coming into the home. The pre dinner drinks are legendary and on colder evenings, might be accompanied by a lovely fire.
Very highly recommended!

The Constantia Stables is, without doubt, an amazing experience. We have been staying here on our annual trip for many years and the comfort and charm are without compare. Securely located in beautiful lush gardens the accommodation varies between well equipped cosy rooms to self contained cottages with every amenity. Relax in or by the sparkling pool, or bath in shade or sunshine on the lawn. Lola makes every attempt to provide a very special experience including complimentary early evening drinks in the snug and a breakfast experience second to none. Constantia is a beautiful area in the company of wine estate and superb restaurants, and all within easy reach of Cape Town's famous waterfront, Table Mountain and several beautiful bays. If you are planning a visit to this area, this is the place to stay.

The Stables is an absolutely gorgeous gem where we stayed annually for the past 15 years and will continue to do so for years to come! A lush, secluded paradise full of flowers and birds with a small pool and well-maintained garden to sit in and relax. The cottage type rooms are comfortable and characterful. The main house contains a beautiful sittingroom full of books and pictures plus a well-stocked bar area for free pre-dinner drinks.
Lola Bartlett is a delightful and superb hostess who will always go the extra mile. She serves a delicious and generous breakfast which keeps you going for the main part of the day.
Parking on the premises, good security. Situated among the historical Constantia vineyards with easy access to local pubs, restaurants and galleries in the southern part of Cape Town.

We have been here quite a few times before and the level of comfort and service remains up to standard. The gardens are well kept, as are the rooms. Staff are very friendly, the owner exceptionally attentive and the location very convenient in the Constantia wine area. If you want to be pampered, you should stay here.

Constantia Stables is the most wonderful place to stay. A little haven tucked away in Constantia surrounded by the most beautifully landscaped gardens. Its a great location to explore the Cape.

We have dipped in and out staying here whilst travelling around the Cape and also stayed for longer periods of time and always have the most wonderful welcome and are thoroughly well looked after during our stays. This is down to the fabulous Lola who runs the Stables. Lola is a perfect host and will go out of her way to ensure your stay is memorable hence why so many people return year after year.

The accommodation is very comfortable and its lovely to have your room cleaned and beds made every day. The breakfasts are WOW with a of fruit, vast selection of fresh fruit, cheeses and an array of cooked selections all of which are amazing.

I can't recommend The Stables highly enough - it deserves more than 5 Stars!! Lola and her team do an amazing job in ensuring your stay is a memorable one.

We had a wonderful autumn holiday in the Constatia Stables. Normally we travel through South Africa en start and finish at the Stables. This time we stayed there for 17 days. There is so much to do from the save haven that the Stables is. We went whale-watching in Hermanus, had lunch in Franschhoek and in Stellenbosch (Delheim), went to th Cape of Good Hope, had lots of walks in the neighborhood of our B&B (Silvermine NP and Alphentrail). You are so close to all the good restaurants at the wine farms in Constantia.
(Don't forget to go to the Norval Museum down the road and walk in the sculpture garden.)
And you are so close to the beach in Campsbay en to the City. 17 days in this loverly B&B wasn't enough. The rooms are well decorated, clean and the beds are wonderful. The garden of the Stables is an oasis of tranquility and beauty. The Breakfast is really all you can ask for. And the hospitality of Lola Bartlett is unsurpassed.
If you want a good stay in Cape-town or in Constantia, treat yourself to the very reasonably priced Constantia Stables.

What a wonderful place! It felt like time stood still. Beautiful rooms with a very comfortable bed. Lola the owner will spoil you during breakfast.
There is a big fireplace if you want to drink a g&t in the evening.
Even a swimming pool to cool down a little bit is available. If you are looking for a comfortable place with an “old fashioned “ quality and hospitality, do not hesitate and make reservations as soon as you can

We had a marvellous stay in the delightful Lily’s Cottage set in the lush gardens. What really made our stay though was our host Lola, who set us up with a wonderful cooked breakfast each morning and then gave us lots of helpful advice on where to visit during our stay. Our first visit to Constantia, but we look forward to our return one day.
