Worth noting that if you’re in a Ridge Suite pool access is a walk away which maybe a good thing given the smell of the heavily chlorinated water - somewhat of a surprise on an ‘organic wine farm’ as was the border collie dog using the facility! There was no access to the ‘pool house’ and no towels provided - not that we went in given the bleach and the dog!
Rooms are beautifully appointed but suite could do with a refurb that said it was clean and comfortable.

We had a good stay here - the accommodation is spacious and comfortable. Very comfortable four poster bed, great views of the mountain. Somewhat amazed by not being able to sample any of the wines on a wine estate - a big disappointment having booked a vineyard hotel. Apparently the hotel is awaiting an alcohol licence - but surely there are ways round this for guests? Add R100 to the room price and provide free wine samples perhaps? Staff were friendly and efficient, and it would be a great location for anyone booking La Colombe and not wanting to drive. We had booked Chef's Warehouse at the next vineyard over, a 3 minute Uber ride away.

Dear Guest We would like to thank you for your review and compliments. Regarding the Liquor Licence- Silvermist Vineyards is currently in the process of obtaining an updated liquor licence. Therefore the Wine Shop and Tasting Venue have been paused until the application is approved. We have made mini-bar facilities available to guests which include one bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 and one bottle of Sauvignon Blanc 2018. Thank you once again for your feedback, we hope to welcome you in the near future for a delicious wine tasting as soon as the licence is approved.:) Best Regards, Silvermist Hotel Management

Silvermist is definitely one of the hidden gems in CPT. I booked a room purely on the basis of finding accommodation that offers a fireplace and when I checked into my suite, I was blown away by the charm and beautiful space that we had for the evening. Comfortable, value for money and an absolute MUST if you're looking for a romantic escape. Will definitely visit again. Friendly and extremely accommodating service desk 😁

This hotel is in a superb position high up on Constantia Nek unfortunately they don’t have a supervisor checking the rooms, taps loose on one washbasin and a wonky shelf in the bathroom. Our patio lounge cushions were filthy, I complained but were offered no replacements. The poolside was not looked after, the sun parasol was so disgustingly grimy and soiled it even had a wasp nest tucked inside which was very active making the whole area a hazard. The breakfasts overlooking the Vineyard at the Green Vine restaurant were hit and miss, some good some half hearted depending what staff were in duty.

Dear Conanby Thank you for providing feedback and for concerns mentioned. The Lounge Cushions mentioned have been instructed to be removed. Regarding the wasps, we are situated within the Table Mountain National Park Region and during warmer seasons the wasps on occasion appear, however our groundsmen are on duty to swiftly have the nests removed and have done so. We have called on the maintenance team to address the floating shelf and taps accordingly and will certainly advise the Green Vine regarding their staff. :) We appreciate your feedback as we gather an idea of where changes need to be made. We hope to welcome you again for an improved and authentic vineyard stay in the future. :) Kind Regards, Silvermist Reservations

We were staying very nearby at Houtkapperspoort Mountain Estate and booked to visit Silvermist and Drumstruck. We have been to several Wine Estates/Vineyards over the years but can honestly say the this is the best for families and a relaxed atmosphere. The setting is stunning. Beautiful garden with space for the kids to play and great 'photo opportunities before the tasting. The tasting itself is very relaxed but informative and pitched just at the right level. To meet the owner himself and hear about each of the wines from himself was great and the passion is obvious.
The entertainers form part of the tasting before moving to another room for 'Drumstruck'. Such great entertainment, passionate and again informative. We enjoyed more wine after and could have stayed for a BBQ. We had already booked to go elsewhere but wish that we had stayed as the food looked great and as we left there was more entertainment starting on the rear lawn with views over the vines. Thank you very much ad we will be back next year and stay for the food.

We were part of a wedding celebration .The venue and it's facilities is spectacular, however the actions of the owner Gregory Louw leaves a bitter taste. The wedding had a DJ and live band; which was communicated to the owner and facility managers when the booking was made. The owner came barging in the first time and demanded that the music be shutdown or else he`ll put everyone out of his facility. He did this on 2 occasions during the course of the event; even screaming at the bride that he'll give her a refund infront of guests and that he does not care; and physically wanting to turn down the music on the DJ's equipment.
The music was not loud as we were aware that there's other facilities and residents on the villa. When the venue was booked they were made aware that there'll be music; they were happy to take the clients money and thereafter treat them in this way. This is highly unacceptable for a venue of this stature. The situation could have been handled better. Never returning.

it was a lovely setting and scrumptious food. I ended up staying the night post dinner. The concierge was helpful in accommodating my requests, and made a serendipitous stay all worthwhile. definitely recommend highly!

Hopeless... very bad service. I was going but had to cancel. Their cancelation policy is one thing but fair enough. You forfeit 75% of the payment if cancelling 31 days before arrival. Anyways, I had to cancel so a lot of money lost but that's on me.

Now, for the 25% return the it is just impossible to get it back. They dont pay, they dont answer or return emails etc. etc. So yeah, looked like a really nice place and was determined to go there once timing better for me but now not so much... #StayAway

In need of a wedding venue, don't bother with this place as staff could care less. The view may be wonderf but the communication is anything but. I have tried to get in touch via email and phone and needless to say, neither has been helpful. Cherry on top is that hotel forwards their calls to security when not in the office and security is nowhere near competent to answer any questions.

We stayed in one of the Ridge rooms and the view was spectacular! So peaceful with beautiful birds coming to visit the trees near by. As close as next to our patio. The room was comfortable and clean and catered to our every need. It is central and yet you feel like you somewhere out in the wilderness when you get back to the room. We had a booking at the famed La Colombe restaurant one night. It was a short walk from our room to the restaurant and back. An adventure indeed after the wine pairing, walking home under the light of the moon. Our stay was short and excellent. Staff are friendly and accommodating. From the security at the entrance to the hotel management. We will most certainly visit them again.

Unfortuately we only stayed at the hotel for a few days. The main guests of the wedding party stayed in the cottages (which were very nice) for a week. However, our nephew & wife and their three small children stayed at Houtkapperspoort which is almost directly opposite the entrance of the Silvermist. It's on Hout Bay Road. It might be worth checking them out. A car is essential. Regards Sam
