At Nova Constantia we pride ourselves on not just offering a fine boutique hotel in the heart of the historical Constantia Valley but rather a private residence that exceeds the expectations of even the most seasoned traveller. The hotel is situated in a quiet yet accessible leafy suburb of Cape Town, known as the Constantia Valley, which evolved from the very first wine-producing farms established in the Cape, as early as 1685. This idyllic location provides the perfect setting to relax and rejuvenate with peace and privacy as the ideal. Nova Constantia is a generously well designed space of architectural grandeur. Its African Chic contemporary style reflects the best of what South Africa has to offer. The large private manicured gardens allow you to benefit from the alfresco lifestyle of the Cape and the design theme expands outdoors into several secluded tranquillity areas allowing guests to relax in privacy cocooned in sheer luxury.

This should be a reference point for all boutique hotels. There are relatively few rooms and there is no sense of crowding and the entire property feesl spacious for the numbers there. The 'house' ( it does not feel like an hotel) is well set up with a great garden with pool for lounging and relaxing. Most of all, from the moment you arrive the team behave like old friends, pleased to see you and not only want you to enjoy being with them, they actually are good at looking after people! There is no restaurant but light snacks are available as well as a full breakfast. There are so many excellent vineyard restaurants around, the city centre is only 30 mins by car and despite the personal attention it means you eat out ( or eat in with a microwave and crockery etc in every room) without feeling you are offending the home team! A great place to visit Constantia and Cape Town itself.

Our five nights at Nova Constantia were simply delightful. From its setting, conveniently located within the heart of the vineyards region, and our spacious, high ceilinged room, to the wonderful breakfasts with cooked-to-order selections and the restful pool area, we felt everything was perfect. Most of all, we were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff on all levels. Whether it was the breakfast cook or waitstaff, the cleaning personnel or the managers, every encounter came with a smile. Perhaps a special word is in order for Lee and Rob, since we had a number of requests, from telephone issues and dinner reservations, to help with working out driving arrangements by taxi or using the GPS while in our hired car, which they cheerfully resolved each time. And when they were not on the premises, Edita came to the rescue and helped us work out the early morning car service to the airport. In short, our stay at Nova Constantia made us feel like people really cared. It's a residence that can best be described as a real gem!

Nova Constantia is in an quiet wine making area 20 mins drive from center of Cape Town. The three different Managers we met were so very helpful and welcoming - booking restaurants and taxis for us (it cost about 190 rand for an uber into cape town but there are several nearer restaurants ) , and on one occasion driving us themselves when they couldnt get a taxis on time !!!!
The room was huge- it was a short walk around it, we were upgraded to a two bed apartment where you could sit outside and soak in the views of the mountains in the day and the sound of an owl at night.. The breakfasts were among the best we have ever had . It is a very quiet hotel but we loved it

For a 4-star residence, the only outstanding thing about this place is its scenery and the scrumptious breakfast. Everything else is below average. You get overpriced nuts and chips in your room, and if you happen to go hungry, you need to order food from Uber Eats or Mr Delivery because the chef knocks off at 4pm. Don’t even get me started on the beds. Very comfortable, but the bed covers are for two single beds. I absolutely hated it.

Stayed here over Christmas and could not have been more pleased. I was greeted upon arrival and everyone on staff knew my name while I was there! It is a small place I'd guess a dozen or so rooms. My room was HUGE! It also had a lovely balcony I could sit out on. Breakfast was nice - they have a menu of items you can order off of as well as juice, coffee, bread. Very tasty. The staff are wonderful and will you to organize or plan anything you need. The pool looked nice as well but it was a little chilly to swim while I was there. I'm so glad I found this place and will come back.

We stayed one night, which was amazing, what a beautiful hotel located in Constantia rich with mountain and well looked after garden views , so peaceful and very relaxing, especially at the pool area . I loved the fact that you don't need room service as there is a full mini bar fridge service packed with a variety of soft drinks, beers and their delicious Nova Constantia House wine which I had the Rose and a snack basket filled with snacks and sweet treats . Our stay included breakfast, which we had a self serving starter option, with a variety of healthy options followed by a hot breakfast . A big thank you to Lee Dicks Managing Director , Caroline the receptions who checked us in and gave us a quick tour and all Nova Constantia staff for giving us a memorable experience. Ooh.. and just to mention we had a personal touch from the breakfast Chef who was very friendly and brought our hot breakfast to our table after she cooked it amazing.

Relaxing property in beautiful Constantia. Rooms have everything that you need for a super comfortable stay. Very good breakfasts freshly prepared by the friendly kitchen team. The location is ideal for visiting the various vineyards and there are multiple good eateries very close to the accommodation - Foxcroft was a particular favourite. Lee manages the property and is extremely customer focused & service orientated. The only downside of our stay was due to the lack of a car and the inconsistency of Uber. Most evenings we experienced issues with getting an Uber service to & from restaurants - since there is no local taxi service, Uber is the only option if you haven't rented a hire car. On our final night, after trying to secure an Uber for 1 hour, we had to rely on the kindness of strangers and were brought home by our waitresses cousin. This typifies the friendliness that we encountered everywhere during our stay in Cape Town.

Rob and Lee were exceptional hosts for our stay in Cape Town. Not only were the rooms and location perfect, but the hospitality was above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. In addition to providing great dinner/breakfast recommendations, they were so incredibly accommodating to all our requests and questions.

I couldn't recommend Nova Constantia anymore!

Hi Marlo & family. Thank you for your review of your experience with us as this is exactly what we strive to achieve - something way beyond past experiences and expectations. We wish you all well with the family wedding plans & look forward to seeing you all again next year. Please send my regard to the family. Please let your Mom know that the guinea fowl still call every morning around the hotel, just earlier now as summer is here. Regards, Lee & my Team

We ended our trip with a 5 night stay in Constantia at the Nova Constantia Boutique Residence. The Inn is in a great location close to restaurants, wine farms and the gorgeous cape. Lee always had great recommendations on what to do and was so helpful in securing dinner reservations at the top restaurants in town. The Inn is well equipped to handle the electric load shedding. We never missed a beat when the power went down. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the cook to order breakfast didn't disappoint. There was so much to do and see that we never had time to enjoy the on-site pool. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality and for making our stay memorable.
