Detailed Reviews
Jardin d'ebene Guesthouse was amazing!! Roland and all the staff were delightful and so helpful. Every morning over breakfast, we would get recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Roland definitely made our trip more memorable with his vast knowledge of the area!
We rented a car and we're able to park off street right in front of the house, next to security. Otherwise there is plenty of street parking available.
Breakfast was delicious! The rooms were very clean and spacious with an amazing shower. Roland even lent me an adaptor since mine didn't work. He was such a great owner. I loved the Honest bar at the end of the night. And it was so nice to have fruit and muffins out for snacking.
The location was perfect. We were walking distance from a lot of restaurants and bars. We walked around the area every night and never felt unsafe. Getting to other areas of Cape Town was a very cheap Uber ride. It was perfect!
We will definitely be back!! Thank you, Roland!

We stayed at this guesthouse for five nights at the end of our trip around South Africa and fell in love with it straight away. Roland was such an attentive and welcoming host with loads of local knowledge and suggestions of what to do in and around Cape Town. He spent time each morning answering questions and making recommendations of where to go, what to do and where to eat. The breakfasts at the guesthouse were just fantastic. There was a great selection of food to choose from and we were always offered more to eat and drink. We particularly loved the avocado toast! The other staff at the guesthouse were also excellent and very helpful, making our stay very pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are stylishly decorated and everything was very clean and tidy. The location was perfect - nearby delicious restaurants and the vibrant Kloof Street, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back one day.

Everything was perfect and I wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Roland was a lovely host and extremely helpful in giving local tips, places to visit and restaurant recommendations. The guest house was so peaceful with very comfortable spacious room and relaxing common areas to sit, an honesty bar and even fruit and muffins! Delicious breakfast too with so many options to choose from. Great location and felt very safe. Couldn’t fault it and would love to return one day!

The wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Jardin d'Ebene Boutique Guesthouse. The owner, Roland, and his wife were delightful and they made our stay in Cape Town very memorable. Every morning we had a beautiful breakfast in the garden courtyard and Roland would greet us and give us advice and hints on what to do, what to see, and places to eat. We loved it! Thank You Jardin d"Ebene Boutique!

Jardin was our introduction stay to South Africa and we couldn’t have planned it better. Roland, our host made everything possible. He was informative and accessible throughout our stay of 5 nights providing us with the details one needs to navigate the city of Cape Town, including lovely neighborhood restaurants.
The accommodations were warm and welcoming in fact on our early arrival Roland sat us down immediately for breakfast. The breakfast at Jardin was probably the best we had in all the 9 guest houses and resorts we have stayed in our month long trip. It’s a breakfast that will prepare for any hike on Table Mountain. Our room (The Zebra) was large and comfortable AC worked well when needed, the bath large and roomy.
Jardin has a loyal and competent staff always ready to support guests’ needs in a professional and experienced manner.
Were we to return we would stay with Roland at Jardin d’Ebene.

We stayed at the Jardin d'ébène guesthouse for three nights at the beginning of our holidays in South Africa. It is located close to the center and in walking distance to many good restaurants. We were warmly received by the hosts Roland and Alex. The “Zebra” room was spacious and very clean, and the bed comfortable. We had an extra bed for our daughter. The honesty bar offered cold water, wine, drinks, and fruits around the clock. Roland was genuinely friendly, always available for a chat, gave tips on what to do, yet with a good sense when guests want to be on their own, and kindly reserved all the restaurants for us. The breakfast was delicious and included müsli, cold-cuts and cheese, jam, and eggs made to order. We loved the fact that the breakfast was served at the table as a buffet was not possible due to covid. We enjoyed our stay very much and will come back the next time we will be in Cape Town. A big thank you from all our family.

Utterly delightful from the moment of arrival. Wonderful team that make this a really special place to stay. Breakfast was glorious- beautifully cooked and presented and we loved the Honesty bar. A calm peaceful place to stay with easy walking to some great restaurants and lovely quiet rooms. Roland’s recommendations and suggestions added to an altogether great experience and we will recommend to friends and hopefully be back!

This is made my third stay at this boutique guesthouse. I can’t imagine coming to Cape Town and not spending time in this lovely, peaceful oasis - with first rate staff. The rooms are beautiful with decor that is authentic to the region. Breakfast is served in a charming garden area, with plenty of options available. The home is centrally located very close to table Mountain and only an Uber ride away from all destinations of interest. Don’t miss this place! Thank you Roland, Alex, Bongi, Chris, Porsche and Romario!

We booked Jardin‘s Guesthouse as we were attracted by the comments and high ratings. From the very first moment when we arrived we experienced a personal, warm and friendly service. Roland provided tips and advise around restaurants, day trips and shopping. Any question he could answer.

Thoroughly enjoyed five nights stay at Jardin d'Ebene. In addition to offering wonderful service, elegant decor and personal service, Jardin is ideally-located. Easy quick Uber rides to anywhere in the CBD and walkable to some great restaurants on Tamberskloof. We traveled in Winter and did not have the urge to use the pool but it was still a wonderful place to lounge around! Great breakfasts!

Dear Sarah, sorry for late reply... walking to and from Kloof Street is no problem... Thank you, Roland
If you let us know in advance we will arrange vegan options - fresh fruits are always on the breakfast table...
Dear Cheryl,
our Buffalo Luxury Room has a twin bed facility, all other rooms have double beds - Queen Size Extra Length in our Standard Rooms and King Size Extra Length in the Luxury Rooms. If you want to book please send a mail to us with the booking dates and we make a plan that the Twin Room is available.
We are very centrally located in Cape Town - the city centre is easy reachable by foot, we also arrange tours for you if you do not have an own car. Kirstenbosch Gardens is about a 20 to 30 minutes drive away, but you can reach it for example with the Hop On/Hop Off bus - a very convenient way to explore the city. The Robben Island Ferry is just a 10 minutes drive away - if you want to take a taxi it will cost you approx. 50 - 60 Rand per trip to the V&A Waterfront.
If you want to see the penguin colony it makes sense to combine it with the Tour to the Cape of Good Hope - you could do it on a half day tour, but I always recommend a full day tour, which we also could arrange you. You will be picked up at the guesthouse and when you come back they return you to the guesthouse, or to any other place in the city...
We have plenty of VERY good restaurants within walking distance from our guesthouse (5 to 10 minutes) and it is safe to walk there even at night.
We also have a MyCiti Bus Stop nearby if you want to use public transport to travel in the city.
It's not easy to mention all possibilities you have in a short message - if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Thanks and have a great day,
Roland
