We stayed at this guesthouse for five nights at the end of our trip around South Africa and fell in love with it straight away. Roland was such an attentive and welcoming host with loads of local knowledge and suggestions of what to do in and around Cape Town. He spent time each morning answering questions and making recommendations of where to go, what to do and where to eat. The breakfasts at the guesthouse were just fantastic. There was a great selection of food to choose from and we were always offered more to eat and drink. We particularly loved the avocado toast! The other staff at the guesthouse were also excellent and very helpful, making our stay very pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are stylishly decorated and everything was very clean and tidy. The location was perfect - nearby delicious restaurants and the vibrant Kloof Street, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back one day.

We stayed at Roland & Alexandra’s place for 5 nights exploring Cape Town and it was absolutely perfect! Ronald is very helpful during your breakfast sessions (which are also very nice) for all kind of tips (surrounding, food, activities and safety) :) Our room was very romantic with the bathtub in an open space in a real African vibe! An absolutely perfect start (for us), or end time of your trip :) Thank you so much! Love Rene & Dagmar

Not much original to add to all the excited five star-ratings. The best is the friendly, helpful, wonderful owners and staff, yet all the rest like the rooms, the grounds, the location, the breakfast … also deserve a full five stars. Home away from home describes it perfectly !

we ended up with a double booking in Cape Town and the guest house owner recommended and arranged for us to stay at the garden instead. what a lucky break. we had the elephant room for 4 nights and the lion room for the last - both rooms were excellent but the elephant room was huge and if you can book it do. from the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home - chriatoff was there to greet us and then the owner Roland arrived. he was amazing - knowledgeable listened to what we wanted and advised accordingly - saved us money by recommending good trips arranged tours. the staff were terrific food and cleanliness was very high quality and the location and environment was restful. we both commented that the area allowed us to see more of cape town as we decided to walk into the centre - we also had evening meals at an excellent restaurant that Roland suggested - I cannot praise the place enough we were very lucky to have such a wonderful base for what is an amazing city

My wife and I stayed a couple nights at the start of our honeymoon. Roland and his wife took the time to chat and give advice about the city. They are both very warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was delicious!

For my taste, Jardin d'Ebene is the perfect place to stay in Cape Town. It is located in a wonderful part of town, and exudes a tastefully elegant charm that feels like home. I stayed there with my son, coming to hike, scuba dive, and see the natural beauty of the area, along with the city itself. The neighborhood is quiet, and safe, with room for street parking. Access to other areas is easy via Kloof Nek Road and Kloof Street which are 2 and 3 blocks away. There are fabulous restaurants, with a variety of cuisines, within easy walking distance on Kloof Street. The distance to the Company's Gardens, District 6 Museum, Bo-Kaap, and Castle of Good Hope is walkable. There is easy driving access to the V and A Waterfront, Lion's Head, Table Mountain Cable Car, Hout Bay, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, and the Cape of Good Hope peninsula. Our room was equipped with an extremely quiet air conditioner. The included breakfasts were wonderful and exceeded my expectations. There are a very large number of breakfast selections that are made to order, ample portions, all sorts of coffee, tea and delicious orange juice. Each breakfast included a in season fresh fruit tray with items such as pineapple, kiwi, watermelon, mango, papaya, and dragon fruit. The courtyard has beautiful plantings of palms, hibiscus tree, succulents etc. The best part of staying at Jardin d'Ebene is the owners and staff. The staff are polite, gracious and friendly. Roland and Alexandra are consummate hosts. Roland is a tremendous source of practical information including what to see, how to get there, where to eat, local customs, safe walking routes and local area weather reports. At breakfast each morning he would ask what we were considering doing that day, give valuable advice, and check local weather reports to see which areas outside of Cape Town would have the best weather that day. He really helped to make our vacation an enjoyable one.

Jardin was our introduction stay to South Africa and we couldn’t have planned it better. Roland, our host made everything possible. He was informative and accessible throughout our stay of 5 nights providing us with the details one needs to navigate the city of Cape Town, including lovely neighborhood restaurants. The accommodations were warm and welcoming in fact on our early arrival Roland sat us down immediately for breakfast. The breakfast at Jardin was probably the best we had in all the 9 guest houses and resorts we have stayed in our month long trip. It’s a breakfast that will prepare for any hike on Table Mountain. Our room (The Zebra) was large and comfortable AC worked well when needed, the bath large and roomy. Jardin has a loyal and competent staff always ready to support guests’ needs in a professional and experienced manner. Were we to return we would stay with Roland at Jardin d’Ebene.

Everything was perfect and I wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Roland was a lovely host and extremely helpful in giving local tips, places to visit and restaurant recommendations. The guest house was so peaceful with very comfortable spacious room and relaxing common areas to sit, an honesty bar and even fruit and muffins! Delicious breakfast too with so many options to choose from. Great location and felt very safe. Couldn’t fault it and would love to return one day!

We can't say enough good things about our stay at Jardin d'Ebene Guesthouse. Roland was extremely helpful in arranging activities for us to enjoy like a car and driver to take us to the Cape of Good Hope and to the Wine lands. He also personally picked us up at the airport and took us to our cruise ship. The only suggestion that I could make would be to improve the lighting in the bathroom. The cost for the our stay was very reasonable considering the value received. Our highest recommendation!
