Detailed Reviews
The location of the Long Street Boutique Hotel is excellent if you want to enjoy the bustle of Cape Town. Long Street is filled with African themed shops, restaurants, night life, cafes, etc. It's a "happening" area of the cityl The hotel is small with nicely decorated and maintained rooms. I especially enjoyed the large shower. The entrance is locked at all times and there is a second locked door before entering the reception area and going to your room. I felt safe and secure in the hotel. The staff are pleasant and helpful. They arranged a taxi to the airport for me and also recommended some excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Highly recommended!!!

The Hotel was very neat and it is beautiful. I enjoyed my stay, the only problem is the squeaky floors when you walk in the room. If the wooden floor can be changed to a different solid flooring which will not make noise when you walk in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The duvet state was a bit bad though because the cottons inside were making visible lumps on the cover, maybe this is because I opted for a Standard Room, but even if it is standard the bedding still need to be nice and neat and aesthetically pleasing.

This is a little gem of a hotel in the middle of a very busy and chaotic street. However this did not spoil our enjoyment of the place. On occasions we could hear loud music from the street but again this was no problem to us. Some other reviews mention the safety aspect of the location, however we did not feel that this was an issue at all as we felt safe walking along Long Street at anytime of day and night. Fiona and her staff team are excellent and cannot do enough for you. The hotel is small and our room was a good size, the bathroom was large with a roll top bath and a huge walk in shower. The only thing that may be an issue for some people is the fact that there was no door, just a curtain between bathroom and sleeping area. Tea and coffee were in plentiful supply and the rooms were cleaned as often as you wanted. I felt it was good to see the other side of Cape Town other than just the V and A Waterfront where everyone seems to flock. I would stay here again.

Apart from the fact that the rooms were very noisy until 4a.m., which I totally understand given the fact that the hotel is surrounded by clubs and night life clearly revived in the city, I am extremely disappointed with the trust policy of this hotel. My daughter left a gold watch in the room on the coffee table, and we called the hotel immediately after we checked out to go fetch it. They "didn't find it"... Cleaning ladies already in the room. Called again and again. Hotel still said there was no watch. If your cleaning staff can't be trusted, you have big issues running a hotel. I would like to warn future guests.

Hi Mariska Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the hotel. Your feedback is valuable to us as we strive to improve with each and every stay, Our hotel is in the heart of the city renowned for it vibrant night life and although we have double glazed windows to shut the noise out, some nights are just noisier than others and for this we are sorry. We would like to extend our sincere apologies once more for the disappearance of your daughter's watch. The safety of our guests belongings/property is of paramount importance to us ,which is why we endeavor to thoroughly check the background of our staff we seek to bring in. This case is of rare occurrence and as so we had to do a thorough search and follow a rigorous internal process to determine any wrongdoing on the part of our staff members . We did keep you updated on the search however we deeply understand your frustration because the watch was not found. We assure you we have zero tolerance of theft and or dishonesty therefore your case remains open .In the meantime we offered to assist in the compensation of your loss as per our last email to you, do not hesitate to contact us on the number provided . We would also like to add that we have safes in all our rooms and highly recommend our guests to utilize them to avoid incidents as these. We are known for taking ownership and caring deeply about our guests and we would really appreciate a chance to redeem ourselves and earn back your trust, We hope you consider staying with us in the future, Regards Fiona

Sadly, I had to leave this hotel after one night because the noise from the nightclub downstairs was so loud it made the bed and walls vibrate. I have never been in so loud a hotel room and it was uninhabitable. The staff said there might be a room available on the 3rd floor - which while it might not have been so loud I thought it would still be noisy. I think the nightclub is fairly newly opened, so previous reviews won't have commented on it and it's a shame because the rooms are furnished to a good standard and it could be a nice hotel but for the nightclub. As it is though, I really cannot recommend staying here.

Although we have double glazed windows that blocks the noise, unfortunately some nights are just busier than others. However we truly appreciate you choosing us. Kind regards

I checked in on the 15th August 24, in the evening +/-20:30pm. The receptionist was very cold, unfriendly and not flexible. I was booked into the last room (5), To only learn that in the morning I was woken up by construction work right next to the side of my bed, and loud conversations of the workers. The wooden floors made unbearable noises as you walked on them. I was not given wifi or recommendations of where I could get breakfast, seeing that the hotel does not cater. I did not sleep well, time and money wasted on my Birthday month 😞. The staff here are in great need of customer service and hospitality. #Refund please

The 2nd floor rooms are either above or next to a nightclub, depending on what side of aisle your room is. Be prepared for loud deep bass music thumping until 3:00 am. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and a nice shower. We moved to the 3rd floor for our 2nd night, but the air conditioner was broken and the hotel had no one to fix it. 3rd floor rooms are not too noisy. So unless you’re there to party in the night clubs, be sure to get a room on the top floor.

NOISY!
It was very clean and the staff were friendly, but oh man, was it NOISY.
The room we stayed in was a reasonable size and the shower area was very clean and modern...but did I mention the noise?
The bed was clean and comfortable, but alas, because of the noise from the street (even with earplugs and the windows tightly closed) sleep was almost impossible until after 3:30 am.
My advice to anyone wanting to stay at this hotel: make sure you are in Party Mode and go downstairs and make noise with the best of them. Just don't plan on sleeping until the early hours of the morning...and this was a Thursday evening!

The staff are 5 out of 5, all so lovely here. The hotel itself is very nice with spacious rooms and comfy beds.
The location is a problem - surrounded by nightclubs underneath/next door etc that close between 4am (midweek) and 6am on Saturday night into Sunday. We were 2 floors up, double glazed windows and earplugs and still the noise was bad.
The road outside never really felt safe - cabs away from there most days and nights (ubers are very cheap).
Shame because of the great people who work here, but I wouldn’t recommend.

Can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. We stayed three nights and enjoyed our time very much.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, the room (we stayed in room 8) was very comfortable and clean and WiFi was good.
The location is very convenient. There are so many great restaurants to choose from right on the hotel’s doorstep. We tried several of the establishments recommended by the hotel and all were excellent. We particularly enjoyed breakfast at Lola’s just across the road.
The hotel is located on a street with a great nightlife scene, but the rooms are well insulated and we had no issues sleeping (we stayed over the weekend too).
We had the hotel do our laundry and the price was good (especially by hotel standards!) and even though we put our laundry in late in the day it was still returned to us the same day which we very much appreciated.
The hotel also has a small snack bar with drinks available for purchase, it was very handy being able to pick up a bottle of water prior to going out sightseeing. The hotel and staff have great suggestions for things to do and the starting point for free walking tours of the city and the hop on bus are just a short walk from the hotel.
We arranged a transfer to the airport through the hotel and it was seamless and a reasonable price (about $35 Australian Dollars). The driver arrived early, was friendly and helped with our bags.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will stay here again if we are ever in Cape Town.

Hi, we changed 3 times because they fitted us in at short notice and I can honestly say that noise was not a problem for us. The hotel seems to be a short distance from the most lively part. As I am in my 50s my hearing may not be as sharp as yours though. You need someone comfy as it is not safe to be out after dark, especially if you are a woman. There is street security on most corners of long st. Next visit I will stay at the waterfront or camps bay.
Hi there
