The location is situated perfectly to reach most of the important touristic spots (e.g. ~10 min until Tablemountain by car, 10 mins by foot Long Street...) Michelle is very friendly, always present and open to help. Staff members are very friendly, I had the opportunity to check in 2 hours before usual check-in time. My mother and me loved feeding the birds! :)

This is a comfortable place to stay close to the heart of Cape Town. It is a pair of Victorian houses bonded together and retains much of the charm of that period. The rooms are large and comfortable. The TV system has multiple channels, but very few have reasonable content. I gave up when the smart TV crashed when paging through the channels.(effectively only some news stations of use). The breakfast was adequate, but some ingredients were dried out. Parking is tight (as are the local streets), but at least off the street.. Michelle was a gracious and helpful host. The best, however is the central, quiet location with easy access to most of what Cape Town has to offer.

This was a worthwhile stay, beautiful, people are friendly, a nice pool and relaxing area, you dont feel cramped in the house, they have a great place to have a drink and make a good breakfast as well. Daily cleaning makes it a fresh and nice experience every day you come back from exploring.
It is a great location to get around from and there is a small shopping center walking distance to get the general essential if you need.
We slept dead and it was a great sleep.
We really enjoyed our stay here

My wife and I spent a night here in March 2023. The location is excellent, with the Gardens shopping centre just around the corner. The rooms are well furnished, and Peggy was very friendly and very helpful. The parking is a little tight, but this is central Cape Town, and having off-street parking available is a bonus.

desperately in need of some smartening up. falling back to being a Heritage building just wont cut it any more and its reminiscent of a 1970s B&B. despite being the only guests , we were put in a tiny room with a view of the car park and with no hot water so the next day moved to a better one. if the place is empty....... why put your only guests in the worst room ?. we did have our ancient cat with us which is why we chose the hotel but for the same price one could get a modern hotel. breakfast consisted of a tiny croissant toast and coffee. the final room we had was spacious with a good view but again just tired. forget trying to operate the tv ! it seems you have to log in but despite googling the make and model it didn't help.

Thank you Fergus for your most negative review. You ask why I put you in the 'worst room" of the house - firstly you ASKED for the cheapest room in the house and secondly the fact that you were traveling with a cat - you got the room in the house which had wooden floors and not a carpet that a cat would soil. You were given a very carefully curated continental breakfast of: 4 different breads/2 x croissants /4 x mini muffins / 2 x grated cheese types / jams and butters - you were also offered a cooked breakfast at an additional cost of R 87-00 but you only wanted the free breakfast. And yes, the TV - I guess its for the more modern, technology driven clients who are used to streaming - there are written instructions for you older folks and all you had to do was ask, as I am always around. it was a very unpleasant time for you and I, but the rest of the guests in the house had an amazing stay (yes, you were NOT the only guests - 5 other rooms were inhabited at the same time) I hope your ancient cat has settled in her new home and that you feeling happier and more calm. kindest regards

I loved being hosted at Mountain Manor while I was on business in Cape Town. Its a walking distance to the grocery store and a short drive from Kloof street which has lots of little coffee shops and restaurants. The host Michelle has gone out of her way to make the Manor cozy and comfortable. There are delicious aroma's coming out of her kitchen each night and she was happy to make me breakfasts according to my strange requests, including smoothies and vegetarian delights. The house was spotless even after months of lockdown! I felt safe and secure which was very important for me as a solo single traveller - it was very well appointed, I would highly recommend it over any hotel.

Had an amazing stay at Mountain Manor! The location is perfect - just a short walk or Uber ride to the beach, many restaurants, shops. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went out of there way to make sure I had a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this guesthouse for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Cape Town.

I had an amazing time here at the mountain manor, the location, vibes, and the overall experience was top notch. The option of breakfast was enjoyable and the filter coffee really surprised me. All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind and I would definitely be coming back.
