The staff went out of their way to accommodate and make me feel welcome. The room was spacious and had new, modern upgrades since my last stay. Overall great experience and would recommend as very good value for money.
The booking site clearly states that they have a airport shuttle service, private parking and a buffet breakfast. After booking my room and trying to organise transport and parking, I was told they had neither! I had to book my own taxi as well as my own parking, which the nearest of was 500m away and meant I had to walk all the way with my heavy luggage. After booking I was also told they only serve a 'lite breakfast' that consisted of toast and a bowl of muesli. My bed was full of crumbs. I will never stay at or recommend this hotel to anyone again.
Authentic Cape Town experience. Hotel has a central location with and a great atmosphere. Rooms were clean and neat. Friendly staff that helped us out with their local knowledge. The rooftop area was a massive bonus!
We had a lovely stay in this clean, spacious and very well situated hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the breakfast and dinners at the restaurant. There are lovely rooftop views of Table Mountain to top it all off.
Excellent place for breakaway with your loved one as you can stroll to Gardens and Green Market square , great amenities at the place and view from the rooftop is probably the best in Cape Town. The location is brilliant . Food was great and one can see lost of care taken with the preparation. Modern exterior of the hotel on the outside. Very neat inside and room absolutely clean
Found the hotel itself quite lovely with very nice staff at the front desk. The room was good with a nice size bathroom. However, we were on the first floor right across from the entrance to a garage. The noise all night long was bad even with the windows closed. The a/c worked well and kept the room cool at night. My only other complaint was whoever designed the sink and faucet in the bathroom should be forced to use it. I am short and couldn't lean across the counter to access the water at the back of the bowl. The tub/shower had very high sides and could be dangerous when climbing out of it. Also, couldn't reach the faucet without leaning into the tub and into the stream of water so if it was hot, you could get scalded. On the plus side, we enjoyed having a quick walk up the staircase to our room and didn't have to use the elevators. Also, the breakfast was very good.…
I loved staying here, it is close to EVERYTHING and the service was excellent as well as the food. the staff is always ready to help. happy hour was a treat and the drinks were really good. Id recommend staying here.
A nice value hotel in the center of Cape Town. Friendly staff that is eager to help you. Wonderful breakfast. As in anyplace in Cape Town, it is not advisable to walk the streets alone at night but the low price for cabs allowed us to eat in some great restaurants. We had a great 4 day stay
Very good value for money. My wife and I was looking for something in town so that we do not have to drive home late at night. Room was good and breakfast was great. Staff was friendly. Safe parking for R90.
Overall I would give the Cape Diamond 3 out of 5. There were some very nice bits about our stay but there were also some bits that mark it down. Firstly, the staff were all very good. We received a warm welcome and all the staff on the front desk and at breakfast throughout our stay were very happy and friendly. They were excellent. Also, the location of the hotel is good. It is about a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute drive to the V&A waterfront. The rooms were clean and comfortable but were quite basic. The breakfast buffet has toast, cereals, hams, cheeses and bacon and eggs etc. Both the rooms and the breakfast were equal to a 3 out of 5. The bad points about the hotel were that the sliding bathroom door didn't shut fully which meant that someone sitting on the bed could see someone sitting on the toilet and that there were no insructions on how to use the safe. We asked at reception but none of the people on at the time knew how to work it. They said that they would send someone up to our room but didn't and in the end we worked it out ourselves by looking online. The other drawback of the hotel is that it is on a busy street which seems to be noisy thoughout the night. I appreciate that this isn't the hotels fault but it does have an impact on guest trying to sleep.…
