All of the reviews on Trip Advisor were spot on - this hotel was one of the favorites of any we've ever stayed at, with unquestionably the friendliest staff we've encountered. The hotel is well located in the center of the city, conveniently walkable (at least during the day) to many spots and close by taxi or Uber to others. We had the family suite, which our kids loved, and which included a terrific balcony and separate sleeping area for the kids. The breakfast was ample to start the day, and the treats throughout the day were much appreciated. The tour we booked through them, the Peninsula Tour, was exceptional and perhaps the highlight of our 10-day trip that included a safari. Most importantly, Karin, Godfrey and Riano were as nice and helpful as can be. Staying at a boutique versus a chain undoubtedly made a difference, as you can tell Karin and Godfrey in particular take ownership over every guest's experience. We would recommend the hotel to anyone and everyone visiting Cape Town, without hesitation.…
What a hidden treasure. Absolutely stunning property. We spent amazing 3 night at this hotel. Every single detail, every single interaction with staff just amaze me. If you considering this hotel, just do yourself a favor and book it. Thank you Can not wait to be back.
Finally after 2 and half years of trying (thanks COVID) we were able to revisit this wonderful boutique hotel. The welcome you receive from Karin, Riano, Godfrey & team is second to none. The rooms are beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean & simply stunning. Each have Charlotte Rhys toiletries (if you’ve never encountered them before you’re in for a treat) The breakfast service is outstanding and perfectly cooked every time, the choice of items is also great. If Karin & team don’t know the answer to your question (which I doubt) they will find out for you asap. Pre (and post sometimes) dinner drinks in the bar is a great way to unwind & share the adventures of your day. Karin, Riano & Godfrey are such lovely, genuine people who are so interesting to speak with.
We enjoyed our stay at Blackheath so much. Karin, Riano and Godfrey were the most welcoming of hosts. Karin showed so much concern that we time our excursions to take advantage of when the good weather might show up. We really appreciated that she cared at least as much as we did! The kitchen and serving staff were also so personable and witty. We chose the loft room with a large balcony. We sat out there quite a bit and even ate our dinner out there by candlelight during load shedding. The room was more spacious than 2 people really need, but I had my heart set on the balcony view. We took advantage of pretty much all of Blackheath's excursion offers. We used airport pick-up and drop-off. We did the city tour, Table Mountain, Cape peninsula and winelands with Oyster tour services. We enjoyed all of them, but were so fortunate with the weather during Cape peninsula (which Karin moved from a more overcast day) that it was truly a highlight. We liked how the guide, Stuart, not only shared his encyclopedic knowledge of almost everything, but also would give us little quizzes to see what we retained. (As a teacher, I really liked that). Breakfasts were great, and the chocolate cake in the afternoon was delicious (Yes, we're the ones who ate big pieces every afternoon). We would definitely choose Blackheath again.…
The service we received at the Blackheath Lodge went beyond what words can describe. The rooms are top notch and the staff is amazing! The attention to detail and care is felt throughout. Riano and Godfrey are top-notch and always offering to help. They made sure that our stay in the Cape was nothing short of Magical. From helping us plan our daily outings to booking dinner reservations and helping us pull off a surprise helicopter excursion for our son - not to mention the warm homemade treats that greeted us each day! Their desire to go above and beyond really set this trip above the many trips we have taken. Highly recommend.
Blackheath Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way possible and we had an absolutely amazing time here. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and our rooms were incredibly well-thought-out and wonderfully equipped with everything we could need. I highly recommend that you visit them on your next trip to Cape Town.
