About
Description
The Villa comprises two houses which form part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. These double stories have been joined and so the inside spaces are very spacious. “It's like walking into a tardis” More someone has written on Tripadvisor! The hotel is owner managed. Location is vital when choosing a vacation venue and the Villa is within an easy walk of most tourist attractions while some, (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter we serve in a sociable dining room with an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts will happily arrange car rental, restaurant bookings, tours etc if required. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in all rooms. A staff member is on duty throughout the night to offer complimentary port and sherry and there is also an honesty bar available. Parking is on street at no charge (with street guard) - though most manage without a car. Less

An African Villa is a good guest house in a nice location. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts good. However, if you have an early start you will need a packed breakfast as they only start the full breakfast at 8. The staff are very helpful and friendly but this place la

We took three rooms in An African Villa and from walking through the door from the quiet leafy street, the quality of the house is immediately apparent. It's a boutique B&B and some. Hotel like space abounds inside and out with decorations subtly conveying that warm African feel.

Do you welcome babies/toddlers? Do you have cribs for them if so?
Hello, thanks for your interest in An African Villa. Much as we love little ones, we are not able to accept children under 12 years as guests. The building is unsuited and other guests are too inconvenienced by the disruption which they often cause. So sorry! Jimmy

As a solo traveler can you tell me if there are good restaurants close by and are you in a safe area ?thanks
We have very good restaurants within an 6 - 8 minute walk on Kloof Street. It is safe to walk to the restaurants, however we recommend that guests come home after their meal with a taxi as they are inexpensive. Best regards Cindy

We like to travel light, is there laundry service by piece and turnaround within the day if submit by 10am?
Hi Claudia Laundry service is offered Monday to Friday Deliver before 10h00am and return same day at 18h30. Cost is calculated by weight and not per item, but the minimum charge is R115, so best is, fill the bag with more items and not just 1 or 2 pieces as the laundry washes each customer's laundry in their own tub (not mixed with other clients) and it takes the same amount of water, same amount of electricity, some amount of detergent to wash 2-3 items as it would be for a load of 10-12 items. Obviously, the more items you hand in, the heavier the bag, the higher the price. Hope this helps with your wardrobe planning. Best regards Louis
