We stayed in this one bedroom self catering apartment (Altmore 303, booked via trail finders) for a week. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with lots of storage. The kitchen was good enough for our needs. The bathroom adequate and balconies quite small. The grounds are beautiful. We found access to the extensive complex via the 3 security gates trouble free by day 2 by which time we had worked out where each led out to. The reception staff were helpful and caring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, perfect for access to the Waterfront areas and all they offer. Would recommend.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in January/February 2024. Check in/out services are fantastic. Location cannot be beaten at the waterfront and is secure 24/7. This peaceful complex cannot be beaten!

We stayed in one bedroom apartment in Juliette block. The accommodation was spacious and had everything you would need including a large balcony. The bed was super comfortable and cleaning staff were fantastic. In fact all staff we met were friendly and helpful. The owners of the apartments take security really seriously and rest assured these apartments are super safe. There is a fantastic wee cafe attached to the gym called quarterdeck. It employs mainly staff with hearing disability and is great for a wee coffee and croissant. In terms of location the apartments are within the V&A waterfront and also easy access to city sightseeing offices. Ubers can be ordered from reception and I would recommend this transport for getting around. So why not five stars? The complex is a little tired in places, nothing that couldn’t be sorted ( mainly decoration) or give you any problems. All in all a great choice for staying in Cape Town.

On our visit to the Waterfront Village apartments we were allocated Banockburn 205 which was small for 4 guests and settees that were impossible to get out of. Living room furniture was very old. There was no Aircon in the bedrooms and overall the apartment desperately needs a makeover. We were upgraded to Carradale 604 which was much better. We stayed 6 nights with soaring temperatures up to 40C. The Aircon in the main living area did not work which we reported, however, it was still not functioning when we departed on Monday 22nd January. The apartment was was very well equipped with great views over the waterfront. It is equipped with a 2000W stand by power bank connected to the tv. The toilet seat was loose in the smaller bedroom.

We stayed for three nights in a one bedroom apartment which we just used as a base rather than self catering, although it had a full size oven/combi microwave, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Basics such as a scouter, dish cloths, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are supplied. It was a good size with a kitchen/diner/lounge space. It’s a big complex with a mix of owner occupied and rented apartments. The security is very good (you get a key pass to the various gates) and you can walk in to the V&A Waterfront safely in 6-10 mins, depending on your apartment. We arrived around 1pm after travelling for 24 hours so were initially hopeful of an early check in and then it went back to 2.15. You are driven round from the main reception to your apartment. Our advice would be to pay attention to the description of how to get to the Waterfront and where your parking space is if you have a hire car as it’s a little confusing initially without much signage. Good aircon but that goes during load shedding (lighting and Wi-Fi remain). Recommend using the Quarterdeck cafe which is onsite and overlooks the marina - good coffee and is an initiative to support deaf colleagues (I now know the sign language for an Americano).

Negatives: there was no air conditioning in the apartment as was advertised, it was humid and the two portable fans were not enough. Not enough shelves and/or packing space in the bathrooms. Very small dustbin. Outdated furniture. Positives: great customer service. The security is high. Location is central and walking distance from V&A waterfront and TimeOut Market. Television had cable and Netflix. Personally we will book the Lawhill Luxury apartments again for our next trip, it was better value for money than this one.

Somewhat a ‘Sliding Doors’ Experience! Our son is in 404 Pembroke B, which is a Delux 2 Bed Apartment. It’s good, not great but considerably better than the apartment my wife and my checked in to yesterday, HelenLees 402, somehow classed as Luxury but nothing of the sort! When we booked, the wonderfully named Valencia could t do enough got us. I was delighted to have an email asking how we were enjoying our stay on our first night however I gauged my response on our son’s apartment! We have 5 mins in ours which was still being cleaned although inside the term very loosely. The apartment is tired with damaged walls, a stained leather couch that needs a very deep clean. The hairdryers do work but only with a SA/EU adaptor which fortunately we have . The bin is in a cupboard and without a lid, the air con in the main bedroom can’t be temp controlled. Someone turned up 24 hours after we checked in with a microwave I didn’t even know we were missing. Neither it appears did Valencia. The bath water is brown/green, it isn’t in our sons! I need to fly home on family matters on the first and have been refused a refund for two nights. If I could leave now we would. It’s such a shame that this experience is the worst in Cape Town ever. We are regular visitors and will try again tomorrow but fear the worst. To make matters worse the parasols around the pol are not secured properly and two blew in to our subbed narrowly missing my wife. There were many witnesses and as m previous reviews indicate I tell the truth always ! Avoid the lottery or don’t pay a penny until you’ve seen where they are putting you! !
