A lovely stay at the Cullinan. Perfectly placed to visit the Waterfront, the V&A, as well as old town Cape Town, Table Mountain and further afield. Good car parking under the hotel at a discounted rate. A lovely atmosphere. Staff that not only help you but also do this with a smile and genuine sincerity. The hotel shuttlebus to the Waterfront is ideal. Breakfast in the morning is comprehensive with great choices. The price as a guest is very good value. Quiet rooms albeit beds a little small and pillows a bit flat. All in all a very good place to stay when in Cape Town. When staying there again this will be our primary choice.

Great hotel, very clean and very friendly staff. Gym is far too small for the hotel size, (feels crowded with only 4/5 people) not helped by one of the only two treadmills provided didn't work. Id stay here again but it wouldn't be my first choice in this area.

As a regular guest in the Cullinan again I met friendly and obliging staff, great service and a reasonable room with a flawless cleanliness. Despite the fact that the Springboks world champions team spent two nights at the hotel and for sure cost a lot of attention, everything went smooth and without any hectic. Especially Marc from the bar/restaurant and of course Renee from the front deck again made our stay a really great one. The Cullinan management can be very proud to have them in their team!

We had a retirement breakfast booked there for 80 people was very busy but the staff was excellent and very helpful thank to Deon Samuel's for assisting us and a big thanks to Nasheema Stemment for arrangements regarding booking we appreciate everything have a good weekend keep it up

This hotel looks ok but it’s so noisy. The windows are single glazed and noise from cars and sirens are heard all night. We were put on a floor with noisy young people who shouted at each other in the rooms and corridors, slamming doors all night. We were woken today by their noise at 3.30am and had to call security. This resulted in quiet from them but we were already wide awake. The breakfast here was cold every morning. If we come back to Cape Town we certainly won’t come to this hotel again.

This is my 4th visit in the last 12 months. My first visit was booked by an international organisation as a congress delegate. At the time, I was allocated a standard room but it had adequate space and a great view. Because I was impressed I went back 4 times on my own but each time I get a horrible room (size and view) despite multiple requests and a willingness to pay for the room. They call them standard rooms but I've noticed they occasionally put two beds in a single room making the room a very tight fit. This time I got a 1st floor room with busy traffic that kept me awake from 2 am due to the noice. Last time (September) I got a small room with a dirty bathroom and complained so they moved us to another room but now had very loud music playing from the adjacent room. My complaints and requests to the front desk/ reception were ignored. I'm very disappointed with the hospitality, quality and service. Definitely not a home away from home…

There is a great impression upon arrival, but that’s just the beginning. The lobby and pool area are beautiful, and there is always fresh lemon water right at hand. Our rooms were very nice, clean with comfortable beds. There was a safe and refrigerator in the room. Do be prepared there’s no outlet in the bathroom which was the only odd thing. The Stella restaurant is very nice and the food was fantastic. You really must try the Sweet and Spicy Margarita - yummy! If you have an opportunity, have a visit to the spa - it’s beautiful and peaceful and they give a very nice massage. The real gem here at Southern Sun Cullinan is the staff, who are really the best. From shuttle driver Freddie, to bellmen like Hakeem and John, to Concierges Ebrahim and Ashley, Sirina, and all the way up to Anthony in management we were treated very well and they were all so helpful and kind. I highly recommend a stay at Southern Sun The Cullinan when you’re in Cape Town! We’ll definitely be back again. …

This Hotel gives you a good feel of granduer when you enter with its large entrance Hall. The staff are lovely and very attentive. We loved this hotel. Great breakfast. Great staff. Everything about this place was great. They have a shuttle that takes you to the V&A waterfront if you want to go shopping etc. The hotel has a gym. We didn’t have extra time to partake, but it does look quite good.

This review has been a long time coming. So long that it's been roughly 2 years later since our stay, hence the unforgettable bit... With that being said, we had just celebrated a special matrimonial occasion and chose to stay at The Cullinan for a few days - from the 4th to the 10th of September 2021. The check-in process was seamless and upon arrival to our suite, we were welcomed with a chilled bottle of sparking wine, a chocolate cake, more chocolates, and welcome card from the hotel manager. The hotel manager and staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was special. In addition, some other wonderful aspects of our stay that exceeded our expectations were the breakfasts, staff responsiveness and friendliness, the facilities (gym, pool, Wi-Fi, fully stocked appliance in room). Our stay at The Cullinan, coupled with the excellent service from the hotel manager and staff remains the benchmark for a Cape Town break-away. We hope to return soon.…
