We only spent one night in this elegant hotel and I wish we had a few more days to enjoy it. The room was spacious and very elegant. We had a water view along with two comfortable wing back chair facing the wall of glass that looks over the whole waterfront. It was spectacular and very glamorous. The breakfast buffet included delicious liver pate, which I loved. The hotel is surrounded by seafood restaurants and a grand shopping mall is within walking distance. Lastly, the bed is super comfortable and gave us a wonderful night’s sleep.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Victoria and Alfred Hotel recently for 4 nights during my first time in South Africa! I was greeted so warmly and wanted to offer a special thank you to Wesley for his incredible hospitality and kindness in making my stay extra special. The rooms were spacious, cozy, clean, quiet, and well decorated. The bathtub, robes, and slippers were a perfect touch as was the evening turn down service. The restaurant is modern with delicious food and great service. They even had live music during one of the evenings I was there. The hotel is in a perfect location and walking distance to the Watershed, multiple restaurants, the Cape Wheel, and the shopping mall. I would not hesitate to stay here and hope to return one day!
Fabulous hotel in an awesome location, overlooking the waterfront. Rooms were beautiful, very large. Bed was large and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast, bar and meals were fabulous and good value. Staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful.
So far we always enjoyed the continental breakfast buffet. It included oysters and also a bubbly (sparkling wine). This time we were informed that due to a new general manager this items were discontinued recently which was a big disappointment. Among so many excellent breakfast places in town this was a unique selling point. Won’t come back for this price and offer.
The best thing about this hotel is its location at the waterfront. There are so many places to shop and eat within a 5 minute walk. Nice shopping malls and probably 50+ restaurants/eating places. The area is very safe with security and police on every corner. We (two ladies) walked around the waterfront after dark and felt completely safe. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They helped us decide what day trips to take and arranged reservations and a taxi to take us to a local restaurant we wanted to try. The room was quite nice and a good size. I would absolutely stay here again.
The hotel is well located and meets the requirements one would expect from a hotel in this price range: Friendly staff, clean rooms, fast internet, etc. However, the "wow effect" was missing. The rooms are rather small, there is rather little storage space (suitcases), small tilting windows (I had a room on the third floor) and the minibar was poorly stocked and without water. All in all I was satisfied, but next time I will try something else.
We stayed 3 nights at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel and rate is very highly, the staff from reception to housekeeping were extremely friendly welcoming and most helpful. We had views of the harbour and Table Mountain the rooms are large and very comfortable we stayed in winter and the days can get chilly however the rooms and hotel were always at a comfortable temp. We will be back.
Great location, most comfortable rooms, accommodating staff. Our room overlooked the water and up to Table Mountain. The decor was contemporary and most comfortable. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast and we enjoyed two dinners in the restaurant. Well equipped gym and spa. With Uber, easy access to downtown attractions.
My wife and myself stayed here for a total of 8 nights in-between a 2 day safari. The staff could not be better. The food was excellent. We ate here on a couple of occasions. The breakfast is plentiful. A hot or cold selection are available. The rooms are clean and have plenty of cupboard space. We were fortunate to stay in a loft room and also a mountain view room. No matter what room you get you will not be disappointed. What makes this hotel outstanding is the location. A wide variety of restaurants are available. The front desk also took time to advise us of excursions and also ordered our taxis. Everything taken in to account this was probably one of our favourite trips.
What an amazing hotel and wonderful location with amazing views of table mountain. Right on the waterfront near shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We ate in the hotel one night food was ok. Near the hop on hop off bus stop which is a must do as well as the cape peninsula tour
