Worst Hotel to stay at. No free parking. Cannot utilise pool area after 9pm because it’s located on residential floor. R180 p/p for breakfast is a ripoff for stale bread, no scrambled eggs, dried overcooked sausage, no mushrooms, just not what you would call a buffet. Stay away. There are better option in the CBD

If you would like my suggestion...NEVER consider staying at this hotel. We were there for business found the experience very odd. Checking in....said we didn't see a need for mini bar...IMMEDIATELY phone calls are made EMPTY ROOM XXXX now!....thought itvwas odd but went to room....was in the process of errr going to the toilet when door opens...guy runs in with plastic bag...scoops up mini bar contents and runs out again.....mad!....Checkout was another delight....I give my room number.....immediately they are on walki talki....CHECK ROOM XXXX for damage...things stolen....couldn't check out until it was confirmed I didn't have a tv in my case. I really do not expect to be presumed a thief or a vandal at a supposed 4 star hotel.....When I complained staff just laughed. .....pathetic....I have stayed all around the world and never been treated like this...in the event my colleague actually had some property stolen ftom her room....so rather than accuse your guests....check your own staff So everyone....do NOT EVER stay here....use the Hyatt across the road

The room was on 7th floor, amazing view from 2 sides and big enough to live for 8 nights. The cleanliness is exceptional, one of the best hotels I’ve ever been. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a good variety, amazing service, again super clean. The location is perfect, 2 min to walk to a street full of restaurants & coffee shops.

I arrived on Sunday 18 June 2023 just after 14:00 and upon arriving at the parking area(upper level), I was surprised that the entrance to the reception from there was literally on the Ramp where cars were in and out and could potentially be hazardous especially if one arrived with lots of luggage. Fortunately, I only had an overnight bag, yet, I still did not feel comfortable and then right by the door, Guests were standing(obviously waiting for transport) SMOKING!!!So for a NON SMOKER(ANTI SMOKER) like myself, I was forced to walk in between them to the reception. When I was checking in, it was obviously Shift Changing time. I was greeted by a Horrible Smoking Stench. I later mentioned it to the reception and was told that the Smoke filters in from the Smoking Section. So the Hotel Management is clearly aware of it, unless I am the only one who ever mentioned it. A young "Trainee" receptionist(the same one who checked me in) was reprimanded in front of the guests, about working on the Senior Receptionist's code...Not a very good impression... We went through the usual Check In procedures and I was assigned room 602. I asked the young receptionist whether they were fully booked and she told me no. I then confirmed whether I had a quiet room as requested, to which she simply quoted the room number 602. I was not offered any Porter Service(which I did not really needed, as I only had 1 Carry On bag, but I was expecting to the offered the service, anyhow. I had to navigate my way around to find the elevators, as it was my first visit to the hotel. When I arrived at my room, I immediately noticed 2 single beds. When I had made the reservation online, I requested a Double Bed as I had just had Back Surgery and had travelled 3 hours to get there. It was nonetheless neat and clean, albeit Basic. First thing I did, was to switch on the TV, and although it boasted a very impressive package, several channels were not working, and only snowy and fuzzy. I had planned to order Room Service and watch some TV, but then decided to rather go to the V&A Waterfront instead. On my way out, I reported the Malfunctioning TV channels to receptionist and we arranged that someone would look at it upon my return. 1) Reception Staff Service was Underwhelming. The hotel and its facilities and /or procedures were not explained and the atmosphere was lacklustre. If the Receptionist had looked at my Requests when I checked in, she had the opportunity to communicate the Unavailability(if at all) of Large Bed or Quiet Room or she could even have tried to Upsell. 2) On first glance, the interior of the hotel with all its beautiful African and Madiba Artifacts and Murals, give one a sense of African Pride and African Hospitality, but the little details missing, quickly makes you question the management of a 4* establishment... Toilet Cistern Water rans and made a noise after every Flush, which forced me to get up several times to try and stop it. Kleenex Box in Bathroom was Broken and must have been for a while Windows Rattled all night(yes it was raining and cold), but then the room should not be sold I requested a quiet room, yet the music from across the road, either a Pub or the Hotel across played until late at night. Duty Manager came to have a look at the TV, but was so unsure of what to do, I asked her to not worry.(No Maintenance person on duty) Staff Attitude: I arrived to the breakfast room around 06:30(as I had early meetings) so was one of the first guests in the room. Staff was running around trying to set up even though Breakfast started at 06:00. The Breakfast "Buffet" was very "shabby" for lack of a better word. There was not much of a variety of Bread to choose from for a Monday Morning. The pastry I took, was old and stale. A few pieces of dried out Bacon and baked beans were on display. When I requested a freshly Fried Over easy Egg, the waitress was condecending and told me to take from the oily, greasy pre cooked ones in the warmer. Yet, there is a huge sign on the buffett, saying "Please contact your waiter, should you request any eggs to your preferance" The only Positive experience, was the waiter who served coffee...He possessed all the qualities of a 5* waiter... Needless to say, I left without any breakfast. The Mini Bar Lady entered my room even though I had a DND card on my door. When I left the hotel and was driving towards the Security Boom, the Hotel Minivan was driving up the Ramp at a speed in my Lane(left lane) I literally had to reverse back and gave way to him, in total panic. When I mentioned this to the Security Lady, she said he does what he wants and he does it everyday, but nobody does anything. He turned out to be the Hotel Driver. I have never experienced such arrogance before and I have been a Hotelier in South Africa and Overseas for the last 35 years. I will NEVER return to this establishment and I will certainly spread the word...

Excellent and friendly service. Very spacious and comfy rooms with good amenities. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Good location in the downtown just 2 mins away from the colour Bo-Kaap area. Earplugs needed while sleeping because of noise in the streets, voices from other rooms and music played in the loudspeakers in the hallway. However, overall highly recommended and great value for money.

Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was always clean and the breakfasts were perfect. But the absolute highlight for us was the service and general attention given to us by the hotel's staff. On our first day's hike we got into trouble resulting in loss of some of our belongings. Thanks to the patient and thorough support of the hotel staff we managed to get everything in order in time to be able to return home and we still had plenty of time to enjoy this magical part of the world. Thanks to this experience, our gratitude for the friendly and professional folks at the Cape Town Lodge will always remain in our hearts.

Cape Town Lodge Hotel was perfectly situated. Staff were so friendly and efficient. My room had a stunning view of table mountain and was absolutely perfect for my business visit. The room was pristine and clean. I left my kindle in the room and the hotel staff handed it in and sent it back to me in Durban.
