The staff had brilliant energy every single moment making our stay even more memorable and going above and beyond our needs making us feel like royalty.
During breakfast and dinner we had the most delicious food with some good laughs with the staff. Not to forget the service all round was ON POINT ! Thank you!
From a covid-19 point of view the hotel was always keeping our safety in mind with sanitizers at all touch points and the appropriate signage all round, reminding us to wear our masks and sanitize at all times. #flatteningthecurve
Thank you to the GM Chris and his amazing team for taking care of us so well and making every moment special and memorable, just to mention a few names i managed to get were Edith,Caroline, Alrich and Jeff thank you to you and your fellow staff for being awesome!
The Peninsula Hotel, You will most definitely see us again.
The pool area is small but adequate - the two dinners I ate at the hotel were good...not excellent.
All in all the hotel is in a good location, transport is provided by the hotel to almost anywhere in town.
Once again a special mention to the staff, they really are excellent, friendly and smiling. They are the hotels best asset.
We requested bedding for the sofa bed for the first night - this took two hours to come after three reminder phone calls. The travel cot was also only delivered very late. Quite tricky when you have small children who are ready for bed.
The doorstop for the front door had come out of the floor and the pull switches for the fan in the second bedroom had broken and been fixed by tying a string to them - but the pull wouldn't work unless you stood on the bed to get the right angle. The suite was not in great condition.
I had booked through the Dream Resorts website and paid 50% deposit. On check in, I paid the other 50% and they charged me another 50% on check out. I have contacted them but have not yet received a refund for this.
Breakfast was incredible slow on both days.
The hotel is in a good position and the warm pool was heavenly (although the gym was often out of towels). The staff was friendly when we encountered them, but very slow.
Definitely not a hotel I would recommend with a 4 star rating compared to the others in the same area, the only plus i would give The Peninsula is the view from the room.
Very sneaky and slimy sales pitch.
Otherwise the staff are amazing and their friendly hearts make your stay great.
I don’t give high hygiene standards to the rooms. Entrance appears to be a grand hotel but I would not recommend the restaurant - the large cockroaches were waltzing all over the deck.
Call ahead to make sure you ask for the open plan room with glass balcony, otherwise you meet the sad sale strategy.
At most the quality is 3 stars. For location, it is fantabulous.
Parking was charged at R65 per night in addition.
For the high price of the accommodation - it should be included.
The good:
Good central location
Fantastic sea views
Very large spacious suites
Excellent wifi
Friendly staff
Complimentary Shuttle bus
The not so the great:
Bed very soft.. I don’t believe mattresses have been replaced
Bath tub very old and tired and was not replaced.. the jacuzzi jets disabled and the vents are grimy the tubs really need a replacement
The bad:
Food is shocking!! Breakfast was included in rate and after day one we didn’t even try eat again. Did complain and spoke to mgt re food
I was also concerned about the staff not wearing masks and the fact that I was twice handed a pen that was not sanitised after the staff used it.
Safe monitored parking was a great comfort that allowed us to relax fully. The breakfast was very well prepared and presented.
