We stayed at the Cape Milner for 4 nights over Christmas and had an excellent stay. This was the second time we have stayed and were pleased to see that standards have not slipped, despite the difficulties and restrictions due to Covid. Our deluxe room was large and immaculately clean, with great air con and high end toiletries. The freestanding bath was a nice touch. Bedding and towels were all high quality. We previously stayed in a standard double room (which are far smaller) and I would recommend upgrading to a deluxe room if possible.

Staff in the restaurant/bar were all very friendly and helpful. The standard of food and drinks was high, and prices were very competitive. The breakfast buffet has been replaced by an a la carte offering- service could be a bit and miss and the orders were often slightly wrong, but it was generally still of a good standard.

The pool area is pleasant, has great views of Table Mountain and towels are provided. However, non residents are able to use the pool which means it can often get busy and guests struggle to get a bed. We also experienced this on our previous visit.

The location is great- a safe 5 minute walk to Kloof Street and numerous bars/restaurants.

Highly recommend.

This hotel is located just a couple of minutes away from the main streets, and provides stunning views of the Table Mountain. The breakfast spread is awesome, and the well stocked bar has both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is adequate parking available. Excellent value for money.

The friendly welcome when we arrived set the tone for our stay in Cape Town. Nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfasts were awesome. Beds incredibly comfortable. Everything in the room worked and there was enough space for 2 of us not to be tripping over each other.
The location was ideal - walking distance to Bo-Kaap district and inexpensive Uber trips down to the V&A Waterfront.
We stayed there 4 times on our trip this time, and will do so when we're there next.

I recently decided to have a staycation at The Cape Milner Hotel, which is about 1,5km away from my house. The hotel is located in the trendy Tamboerskloof district of the city, with views of the iconic Table Mountain.

Upon entering the hotel, we were welcomed by the symmetry of Art Deco and the ornate detail of Cape Town’s Victorian heritage with splashes of urban African design and vivid teals and mustards accenting the contemporary neutral finishings.

We started off our Saturday afternoon indulging in a light lunch and delicious cocktails under The Cape Milner’s tranquil pergola with Table Mountain as the perfect backdrop to set the mood.

After lunch, we had a quick recharge and relaxed moment in our room. For this particular stay, we were booked into a luxury room. No matter where in the world I stay, details always stand out to me, like the bottle of wine and macaroons as arrival gift we received, the Nespresso machine (always a win) and Africology amenities in the stunning bathroom.

The sound of the Sunday morning in a hotel suite was completely different than at home, especially after a great night’s rest, which felt like I slept on a cloud. There was a relaxing coffee in bed, followed by an early breakfast at the 2 on Milner restaurant at The Cape Milner Hotel which was utterly delicious.

The service we experienced at The Cape Milner was exemplary - all staff members provided an exceptionally high level of service and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.
The room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed, topped off by an absolutely stunning view of Table Mountain from our bed!
Whilst the location was easily accessible, we found it was just a bit too far away from some of the major tourist attractions/city centre. However, this was rectified by simple and affordable Uber rides. It was just a bit far to walk to some of the main attractions, with the closest City Sights bus stop about 1.5km away.
The bar and restaurant were amazing, and we chose to eat there for all breakfasts, some lunches and all dinners. The variety of choices was incredible, quality and quanity both exceptional, and the prices were extremely reasonable (especially as Australians - e.g. 3 mains, several cocktails/beers/wines for a total of around $60-$70). They even provided us with a generously filled breakfast bag as we had to leave at 5:30am for our next flight.
Overall, a wonderful place to stay and would absolutely recommend it.

Room was average. Views of mountain spectacular. Service not so great. Had an issue with drain in shower. Promised to send maintenance team. Waited 20 mins. Then went to reception and saw the bloke chatting away to receptionist. After bringing it to her attention that I was waiting for maintenence she told me that she sent up a lady and the maintenance guy said he was on his way up! I was allocated a room for 2 people whilst the couple I was traveling with was allocated a room fit for a single person. Receptionist was totally unfriendly. At the end of the day establishments must realize that it was us locals that were patronising their establishments during lockdown and NOT THE FOREIGNERS because quite clearly the hotels in Cape Town treat locals differently as compared to FOREIGNERS. Would I stay there again? NO!

The hotel is well presented. The rooms are large and we'll equipped. The dining room has a good menu at reasonable prices and likewise is the bar. The staff were very friendly and bent over back to help you. Sth Africa has a tipping culture and if you comply with that the good service will continue. (Approx 10 to 15 %) The hotel backs onto Table Mountain with great views from outside. There are a number of good restaurants in Kloos Street a couple of streets away. But like most places in Sth Africa it's better not to be out at night on your own . The downside of the Hotel is that it's not in the city centre. It is not near the markets or waterfront. However, a reputable taxi company, on the Meyer, costs about 100 Rand each way from these locations
