We chose this hotel due to recommendation and location (10 min walk to V&A).
On arrival, it was very noticeable that building work was in full swing at one end of the building.
Even though we were not advised of this before arrival, there was very little disruption or noise during our stay.
Despite working in a temporary reception area, Check in staff were most welcoming and professional - and always with a smile. We were advised that the building work meant that breakfast had to be taken just two minutes walk away at a local cafe (i will do a separate review of cafe xxx)..
The hotel has a secure car park, an extremely tiny plunge pool, a baggage store room, and vending machines in the reception area. Every morning there was fresh coffee and tea available in this area.
Our mobility assistance room (133) was on the same floor as reception.
The room had comfortable twin beds, air con, hanging space, large shower room, flat screen tv and a ‘laptop’ size safe. We did not experience any noise from neighbours. My only suggestion is that the shower room requires shelves to put toiletries etc on. We had to leave them on the floor which was a nuisance.
We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay again when in cape town

This hotel is being renovated and therefore there was no restaurant or bar during our stay, which was a shame. However, the location is excellent, a ten minute, flat walk to the V&A Waterfront, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was provided in a cafe right opposite the hotel, called 'Shift'. The food was very good and the view from the cafe was of a nice part the city and Table Mountain. The staff in the hotel were all really friendly. There is a big car park, which we didn't need, but good if you are driving. There is a coffee machine and kettle in the room, with supplies replenished each day. The room was clean and functional. There were USB points in the room, a massive flat screen TV, free to use safe, hairdryer and a few toiletries, such as soaps and body lotion. All in all, we were very pleased with this hotel. Cape Town is beautiful around this area and meals, taxis and drinks are very reasonable. It felt very safe walking around during the day, but we were advised to get a taxi back from the Waterfront at night, unless walking in a larger group. Overall, a great stay.

With its location overlooking the harbor, Harbour House at the V&A Waterfront presents one of those rare dining experiences that is simply incomparable. Given the beautiful views that look onto the waterfront and Table Mountain, it has become a very popular restaurant for both locals and tourists who desire to enjoy Cape Town's beautiful scenery. It is sophisticated yet laid back in atmosphere, boasting a modern costal décor that perfectly complements the waterfront surroundings.

WOW! I had the absolute most terrible stay this time around and i am supposed to be a valued guest. Quick explanation: i checked in on Tuesday and asked if i could pay on departure as i was in a hurry, the front desk staff agreed because i have been staying at City Lodge a few times this year, on Thursday afternoon i received a phone call from the front desk, walked out of an important meeting to take the call thinking it was urgent, only to find out that they are calling to ask me to pay for the accommodation, i briefly explained that i had made arrangements on arrival to pay on departure, they understood and agreed, later the same day they tried to call again and again, i couldn't answer due to meetings, i got back to the hotel just before 7pm, exhausted from the day, walked to my room - 278 - only to find that i've been locked out, i walk all the back back down to reception to find out why and it was because of payment, i was highly upset and disgusted! it was embarrassing! i paid immediately and asked for an invoice, they couldn't give me an invoice because i was still to have breakfast the next day and it would show up as a credit - i was even more irritated and just walked away. The breakfast situation is also terrible, i fully understand that renovations needs to happen and is all for the renovations however the breakfast arrangement is just unpleasing, they first day, they dished up for me, the portions were to big and i couldn't finish it and it was cold! the next day, i asked if i could dish for the buffet for myself because i am not a big eater, they said no, i asked for half portion, they breakfast was cold! the third day i asked for a freshly made omelet so that i know that it would be hot and one piece of bacon on the side, they rejected the bacon request and said that the omelet doesnt come with bacon on the side. Overall - my experience was terrible!

Even though the hotel is undergoing a huge remodel, my room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the staff kind and helpful. Currently there is no on site restaurant so they have some food in the reception area in a cold refrigerator.
It looks like they’ve made breakfast arrangements with a nearby restaurant. It is about a 3-5 minute walk and I cannot speak to the food there. I walked to the V & A waterfront for my meals as there are likely over a hundred choices.
The location seems quite safe and it takes about 12-18 minutes to walk to the V & A wharf where you can eat, shop and launch for various boat excursions like Roben Island.
I would stay here again and look forward to seeing the completed restaurant, pool and gym.

Firstly I really appreciated the stunning set up of the modernly designed room and the exceptional view (waterfront) was great to marvel at. Secondly and most importantly the eagerness of the staff to assist me at every step of the way (from checking-in till I checked-out) really made my stay memorable. Vuyo went out of his way to assist with my luggage at all times. All the staff (I wish I could recall their names) at the Shift (breakfast spot) had the most friendly and welcoming energy which aided to the enjoyable breakfast.

The service was second to none, the hot breakfast hit the spot every morning. The hotel is in a nice central location, only a short walk to the harbor and a bumping night atmosphere. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, the only thing I didn’t like was the glass shower that looked into the room, for friends sharing a room it is not ideal.

Room is comfortable, clean and neat. Room doesn't have a bar fridge. The hotel is within walking distance from the V&A Waterfront. The area is quiet and the rooms to the rear has no road traffic noise. Breakfast is excellent. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Dinner is from a menu and there are a variety to choose from. The number of items on the menu is limited, but there is are a number of first class restaurants within walking distance.

From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful and courteous. We arrived early and they made every effort to get our rooms ready so that we could gain access as soon as possible. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant our 1st night and the food was very good, as was the breakfast. We were very happy with our stay.
