We had a private room here, it was very clean and comfortable, the hostel had a nice bar and pool area and the staff were all very nice and helpful. The hostel was also in a good location, being fairly close to all of Cape Town's attractions.
Had a great stay at the Ashanti Lodge, kind and helpful staff. Nice and cosy atmosphere at the bar. The pool was very nice to hang arround. Breakfeast was correct. Rooms are ok, big space to lock your bags under the beds and small safe’s can be found in the room too. Bathroom were clean. Love the view on table moutain and the newspapiercut about it!😉 Close to grocery store and nice places to go out on kloofstreet. Warmly recommend this place
Well placed hostel in Cape Town within easy walking distance to a few points of interest and a short Uber away from the waterfront. Clean amenities, good wifi. Staff are very helpful too. Would stay again.
I found that budget travelers can enjoy the same level of consideration as a private accommodation travelers. The shared facilities, exceed the usual 'budget range' facilities. Stunning, clean communal bathrooms with air driers and eco efficient toilet paper dispensers♻️, rather than hand towels and toilet rolls. Lights go on as you enter, saving on electricity when vacant. Each dorm is fitted with ceiling fan, own basin, a wall safe for each occupant and coded door entry for extra piece of mind. Functional and comfortable communal spaces include; bar and lounge area, gorgeous balconies, swimming pool and front garden. Enough to let you imagine you are being hosted in a French Villa.
The room, although it appeared clean, had a damp and musty smell. Unfortunately there were only top bunk beds available. This did not concern me. Was greatful to see that bathrooms were clean and tidy. I attempted to get onto the bed...that's when the trouble started. I was unable to climb up the loose little ladder attached to the beds even with help. Unfortunately for someone like me it is not an easy/possible task. Asked Reception for alternative female dorm and was advised that all bottom bunk beds have been taken and one may only avail itself the next day.Not an option for me. I was given the option of booking into single room at additional cost - not affordable. I made suggestion that since I was booked for two nights to reduce it to one night's stay and use full amount already paid against what a single room would cost to reduce what I would have to pay and I make a plan for next evening. Unfortunately I could not be met half-way. Attempted again to get onto the bed - failed miserably. Two choices: stay and there's a real possibility I would not sleep on a bed or leave and find a relatively safe 24-hour place where you could stay awake regardless. I chose the latter because...what was the point. I would not be getting any refund due to type of booking and I would have to pay more than budgeted if I stayed and made use of alternative. So exhausted due to lack of sleep the previous night. Wish you had slight level of flexibility and understanding - just for one night. …
