2nd stay at Table bay, but must say my experience truly lacked efficiency and a truly enjoyable time. Check in was effective, but the receptionist did not do a proper authorisation on my card for room charges and also did not explain the rate that was charged. I was charged an escalated rate and currently having trouble to get my funds back. I ordered flowers in my room for my wife's birthday surprise and soon to find out. No flowers delivered in my room. I was charged for the service, and had to query it twice and still was not deducted from my final bill. Room was perfect overlooking the sea, but the bathroom amenities were poor in quality . No foam on shower and shampoo. Basically useless products from Afrikon with no scent at all. Not expected from 5 star. Pool service is non existent. Had to walk and order food. had to walk and get my bill. Waited twice for 10 minutes for the waiter to fetch my bill. Cant understand why the till at pool side were not used.. Never felt that one wants to sit at the pool and relax. Breakfast was great with ample servings to choose from. Spa was not that great with massages that lacked comfort. My wife and I had stiff bodies after the message. Please consider client comfort and relaxation before just starting to do massages that really put pressure on one's body. Dinner at Siba was the highlight and will definitely visit again for a fantastic fine dining experience. At check out my room bill did not have my R 2000 credit applied to my bill. I had to audit my slip for accuracy, but to my disappointment was charged for a higher rate at the end.. Still busy handling my query with Kallyn, front office staff. fatima from billing..... 5 days without any resolution. In closing. the property lacks attention to detail and clent focus.

This is a first class establishment in all aspects and, for us, it was perfect to stay here the last three days of our five week stay travelling around South Africa. Staff was good all over, breakfast immense, lovely rooms and close to everything around The waterfront. Keep up the good work!

The hotel is excellent situated, rooms are super comfy and it’s staffed with wonderful, friendly people. My husband has coeliac disease and they went out of their way to ensure he had an amazing fresh breakfast every morning, we were so grateful to the restaurant staff especially Celeste and Amy (THANK YOUUUUU!) The bar serves great drinks, and the spa couples massage was a fantastic way to unwind after our long journey from the UK. If you have a chance definitely eat at Siba, too, it was an amazing experience and the food was up there with the best (again, they catered for our coeliac requirement amazingly!) All in all a fantastic stay!

I am sure that this was an awesome Hotel back in the day. We checked in and it was a Luxury room. Cons: immediately the door did not lock (maintenance please); then lamp did not work; then there was hair in the tub…not ours, and the hardware/towel rack kept clanking to the floor. Oh and the tv welcomed some other guest, did not have our names. What really made this a terrible experience was that the room was next to the service elevators. What we didn’t know until we went to sleep was that our room backed up to the 2 service elevators. All night long and I mean all night long there was a whirring keeping both me and my husband awake. The noise sounded like a siren. We did not sleep. When we complained the manager, Tristan offered a discount. We did not ask for a discount. Well the next day, no discount. They refused to honor that promise. We did get an upgrade but we did not ask for that and it cost Tristan nothing to upgrade us to that room. If you do not sleep due to the hotel, well the hotel should as a courtesy give a discounted rate or comp the night. Pros: the Hotel is the lobby is gorgeous and the breakfast plentiful and fabulous. The concierge and the rest of the staff were welcoming and extremely professional. The rooms are adequate, and the showers literally run hot or cold. They do not work well and there are insufficient outlets to plug in iPhones, power pack, iPad, computer and Apple Watch. I would never stay here again. We travel quite a bit to Europe (many times) the U.S. and many other places and are titanium Marriott people so we know what we are talking about. We figured this hotel would be a treat. Nothing was further from the truth. The problems experienced and the poor customer service is unacceptable for this type of establishment.

First stop in South Africa lived up to our expectations. the hotel was beautifully designed with large rooms. Breakfast was huge, come with an appetite. Everything you could imagine and more. Sushi, Oysters on the half shell, things I dont eat for breakfast but if you like it it is there. located in the heart of the wharf where there are lots of restaurants and shops to explore in safety.

My wife and I stayed for five days. Very good public areas in the hotel. Plenty of room to relax. Room good with a great sea view . Early every morning we had a cup of tea with the doors open to the ocean view … Breakfast has something for everyone. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance and direct entrance to a shopping mall. Would definitely visit again.

Very well located for walking distance to the Silo, Robben Island ferry, Waterfront bars and restaurants, etc. Nice room and facilities. The only problem was that we couldn’t have a bath as no plug was provided and Reception didn’t deliver one when they said they would. Also, there was black hair in the bath from the previous customers - not what I expect from a 5-star hotel.

Great location but needs some modernising. Shower was very temperamental - either really cold or boiling hot. There was a queue for breakfast most mornings (around 15/20 minutes) which was not ideal, especially as when you do get seated there are empty tables, & yet still a queue out of the door. Concierge booked a trip for us but got the time wrong, so we lost out not just on money but also the one trip we really wanted to do. Been home over a week & still no communication from a manager as promised.

Disappointed. Quite expensive and a bit worn hotel We ordered connecting rooms for our kids, which was very important to us, but when we came, they did not have them as promised Our rooms were not ready at agreed check in time and we had to wait more than an hour in the reception - super frustrating when we only had 1,5 days in CT. Location, view and breakfast was great and why it got 3 and not 2 stars
