Amazing staff! Not a single flaw-everyone in this hotel was gracious and welcoming. The property is gorgeous, and it's in a very safe neighborhood with lots of shopping and nearby restaurants within easy walking distance. A great place to base an exploration of the area.
This was one of my favorite hotels in 50 years of traveling the world. Service was over the top, restaurant , concierge, room service all superior, not to mention one of the finest whiskey bars around. Waking up to the view of the harbor each morning was a treat. The walking distance to the waterfront markets (even had Starbuck's} was a welcome treat.
Beautiful hotel, great location to downtown and the waterfront, the staff are extremely helpful, I took advantage of the car service when available, the breakfast is very good, the rooms is amazing, very spacious, great for families
Stayed for 3 nights at the elegant, lovely and well-located Cape Grace. Our room decor was stunning with huge dressing room and bathroom as well. Staff was so helpful and friendly. They created a lovely welcome for our anniversary in the room. Made us feel like royalty! From the doormen to the concierge to the housekeeping to the dining staff, this service was top-notch. The hotel was extremely comfortable with safe surroundings on the waterfront where we walked. Restaurant was impressive with beautifully presented huge breakfasts and dinner. Our views of the waterfront were wonderful. Enjoyed the bunny decor for Easter and seeing the Easter Bunny! Would stay there again easily. It was a great point of departure for other areas surrounding Cape Town as well. The scotch/whiskey/other beverage bar in the hotel is a great place to go to chill and enjoy favorite drinks. The pool area is quite lovely with such a creative design. Stunning hotel.…
One of my best girlfriends and I spent 3 days in Cape Town as part of a 3-week Africa safari vacation, and stayed at this beautiful 5-star luxury hotel. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. They assisted us with getting taxis to restaurants, exchanging currency, with directions downtown, and much more. The hotel is a filled with rare fabrics, intriguing artifacts and antiques; and also includes more contemporary pieces of art. Even during the Covid pandemic, the hotel leant a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very safety conscious – and sanitizer was found throughout the property. During our stay we enjoyed breakfast room service several days, with a view of the pretty marina just outside our bedroom window (windows opened up for fresh air too). The breakfast meals were delivered hot, and were delicious. Their bread for toast and fresh fruit were just amazing. And the banana pancakes were to die for. Our double room was air conditioned, spacious, clean, bright, and included all of the amenities you could possibly need. There were super comfortable twin beds, an overstuffed chair and large ottoman, a desk and chair, and TV (that we never turned on). There was also a fully stocked mini bar with liquors, sodas, water and snacks as you came into the room, and a small area for changing with two closets and a makeup mirror. The shower’s water pressure was great with very hot water. The bathroom had twin sinks which is very nice. There was also a large bath tub and retractable laundry line, which came in handy. Their laundry service was quick and efficient. Amenities included soap/shampoo/body cream, laundry detergent, Kleenex, flashlight, vanity kit (Qtips, cotton balls), slippers & bathrobes, a small room safe, a hair dryer, and ironing board. Chocolates were delivered on our pillow nightly. The complimentary WiFi in the room was strong. I couldn’t locate a USB or extra outlet next to the bed for charging my phone, so I put my converter/adapter across the room on a desk. The property is situated on a marina – our room had a beautiful view of this and also the famous Table Mountain. We saw lovely sunsets from our window over the marina. The hotel is just a short walk away from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area where all of the restaurants and shops are located. We walked there several times. On our first afternoon, we walked to the ferry to take it to Robben Island to see and learn about Nelson Mandela’s incarceration there. A fascinating tour – highly recommend this. The ferry departure point is just a 10-15 minute walk away. We also spent time shopping in the local markets, visiting friends in the area, and touring the city by car. There are fascinating views of the beautiful city and waterfront as you go up the mountain. When we departed, we headed to Franschhoek to the wine country, which was about an hour away. We highly recommend the Cape Grace Hotel if you are visiting Cape Town.…
Extremely friendly welcome, both on arrival by car and at check-in. We felt like kings during the whole three-day stay. This hotel is absolutely worth the price. And the location on the Waterfront is superbly great!
Very impressed by this hotel. What stands out is the staff. Every member of staff was friendly, polite, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food was extremely good and beautifully presented. Room was clean, pleasantly styled and everything worked. Highly recommend this hotel, which is also in a great position.
Beautiful hotel with great facilities at the safe area of V&A of Cape Town, lovely breakfasts, amazing service and a nice bar. V&A has got lots of restaurants to go to plus the shops and some entertainment for the tourists. I wouldn’t advice to walk through to Cape Town, there are some criminals around ( we met some, pls use Uber to wander around) but V&A is safe.
After our poor experience at the 12 Apostles, we checked into the Cape Grace and instantly felt at home. The hotel has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere especially given that its in a lively part of Cape Town. The service is faultless. Whereas i couldn't recall the names of the staff at 12 Apostles, we got to know many of the staff Cape Grace from Ricky at the front door to Edward and Tatiana. The location is superb in that the whole of the V&A is within a short walk. The rooms are well appointed and the view of the Marina and Table mountain are excellent. We never tried evening meals at the restaurant but always came back for coffee and something sweet in the evening where Maka and Tatiana would look after us. Due to covid there is no buffet type breakfast which is a shame but the selection is excellent and the service is as one would expect of a 5 star hotel. We had asked the hotel to arrange tours into Stellenbosch and Bo-Kaap which they did and we always felt safe.…
Booked a suite for 4 nights at the Cape Grace as part of a brief visit to Cape Town. The Grace was on my wife’s bucket list of hotels to stay at and it didn’t disappoint at all. The service was exceptional from start to end with the hospitality staff going above and beyond to help their guests. Their greeting when you arrive is “Welcome Home!” which is so apt and you just don’t want to leave. Thinking about the breakfast still makes me salivate and the pool bar meals are just amazing. Will definitely look to revisit at some stage again and spend a few more nights if the finances allows. Highly recommend!
