We had family visiting Africa from overseas and we obviously had to take them to Cape Town. Our travel agent did all the bookings for us and we left everything in her capable hands. She told us we would get a sea view, but we expected little knowing how "the sell" did not always match the product.

As it turned out, we were booked into the penthouse, inadvertently, and were later informed of this mistake. They told us that they would move us to our suite while we were out sight-seeing. So imagine our surprise when we returned and were told that we could stay on in the penthouse.

we had a 270 degree balconey and a 180 view of the ocean unimpeded by buildings. and we could just cross the street to the beach road promenade. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was lovely coming back to a sparkling room!

For the price and location I would recommend this hotel to others visting Cape Town!

We have just returned after a wonderful holiday in Cape Town. Feb-2006. It was a pity the hotel was nothing like shown on Expedia. It states hotel is modern decor with kitchenette overlooking the sea. With outdoor swimming pool where you can watch the sun setting over the sea with a drink.
The hotel had badly stained carpets and cracks down most of the walls. The kitchenette had not enough cups bowls or cutlery for 2 people to just have breakfast in their room. The swimming pool is a size of a paddling pool with a high wall around with no possible view of the sea. Next to a busy main highway. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff were very friendly and tried to make your stay as good as it was possible for them.

The rooms were outdated, the lights in the rooms did not work as the electrical, the heater did not work, the garage door was broken, and there were no lights in the hallway or the parking garage. We were not surprised to see that we were the only ones staying at the property for 2 of our 4 nights there! Fortunately, following our complaints about the lights in the hallway, they were able to fix them the next evening.

My son with his family and my brother had stayed here in March/April this year and we were so impressed at the position, accomodation and willingness of the staff that we booked to stay for 15 days.
We arrived and all was ready and waiting for us, check in took a few minutes, then up to the “room”, which, as requested was on the top floor, the 3rd, and a non-smoking floor at that, Our “room”was actually a suite, walk in to a lounge with dining area, and full kitchenette, refrigerator, 4 plate stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, and of course crockery and cutlery, pots and pans. Coffee sachets are kept stocked by the hotel. This leads into the separate bedroom, with bathroom on suite.
I would have preferred lace curtains on the bedroom windows, as there are in the lounge, for privacy, and a better type of blind, or even curtains for the windows, again, like in the lounge. The bathroom is well fitted with full bath, with shower, and a long make up area next to the sink.My one observation is that the shower cubicle should be longer to avoid all the water on the floor. As well, the bedroom needs to have brighter lights in order to be able to read in bed.
The moment we advised the front desk of some faults, such as lights to be replaced, they were attended almost immediately. This hotel seems to go out of their way to make the guest feel comfortable.Daily morning newspapers are available, for free.
Secure free parking is available, as well as a small pool.
There is little to fault in this hotel, on the Beach Road, near shops, public transportation, and not far from the city and the Waterfront. There are beaches opposite the hotel on the promenade which is a favourite place for running and other sporting activities.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it makes a great base. Although it was refurbished for the football a couple of years ago the apartments have been abused by other guests so are on the scruffy side. They are however spotlessly clean, the maids are very helpful if you need extra crockery etc. If you need something ask! Nothing is too much trouble. Reception are so friendly and helpful.
It is a fairly basic hotel. The pool is just a plunge pool but there is a public pool nearby if you want to swim. More often than not I've had the pool area to myself so the size of this area isn't a problem.
Unless you have the larger apartments at the front, the balconies are just functional - you can see the sea but wouldn't describe it as a sea view. Not exactly for sitting out on, in the evening with a nice glass of wine but fine for morning coffee & reading the paper.
The only down side is the other clientele, it can be used by large groups of students who want to party.
It is an ideal base for the more independent holiday maker.
