Travellers' Choice
Built in 1790 as the hunting lodge of Lord Nelson, the AfricanHome guesthouse is one of the oldest buildings in this suburb of Cape Town, situated only 2 blocks away from the Atlantic Seabord. It is a very peaceful oasis in the middle of this buzzling city, in walking distance to many restaurants and to the Waterfront, just 3 km away from Clifton Beaches and famous Long Street. German owners who offer a fabulous breakfast buffet. Enjoy a relaxing day at the sparkling salt water pool being spoilt from our service.

Can’t think of anything that could be better. There was so much for breakfast, that I had always problems to decide what to eat first. During my visit there I had to move into another room. Both rooms were so comfortable. I prefers „The Cottage“, it‘s more cosy. Thank you Stephan and Ralf! You made my holidays special. Hoping to come back soon.

This was our 3rd stay at African Home in consecutive years and we've already booked to go back next year. Ralf and Stephan are superb hosts - welcoming, attentive but not intrusive, and quick to offer help and advice. As ever, the breakfasts were worth the visit alone, and the venue is a quiet oasis from the bustle of Cape Town. There's a small fridge in each room, and a safe. The beds and linen are very comfortable. Aircon is in the cottage only, but while nice, it's not an essential as the temperatures are seldom very hot when we visit. Sea Point itself is very safe and has a good choice of restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Ralf also organised day trips for us to Stellenbosch, wineries and the peninsula. Just super and we couldn't recommend it highly enough for

After 2 weeks traveling from hotel to hotel me and my mam arrived in this guesthouse where we stayed for 4 nights. It was really a pleasure to stay in this homey place. The german owners of this guesthouse Ralf and Stefaan are kind and friendly. It was a very warm welcome. They and there staff are always available if you have questions. The breakfast was always very good and every day there was something special like a mini quiche for example. They think about the lidl things like a flower on the table or closing the curtains for you at night. We had a really pleasant stay and we definitely go back if we are in Cape Town again.
