Stayed for 5 nights. The room had a modern design, a sofa and table, small sink, fridge & kettle and two twin beds joined...My view was unfortunately to a huge building in front. The soap products were really good and enhanced with argan oil. I didn't have much breakfast those days but seemed like there was something for everyone and there was a station with someone cooking eggs to order. There is a bar on the 18 floor with a nice view and a small pool; people mostly hang around the pool specially to see the sunset. There is not much to do or see or restaurants around so you will have to Uber everywhere (Uber eats was very convenient just make sure you order ahead of time). I was attending a conference at the cctiv and didn't attempt to walk there as I didn't see much people walking around so I ended up taking Uber every day, the cost depending the day and hours, was always $5 or less. Overall it was a comfortable stay and WiFi worked great throughout the stay so you can work without issues.

Pros: clean, modern, spacious rooms. The girls who took our bags at reception were lovely and helpful. Room service food was good although a little bit cold when it arrived. Good location although wouldn’t say walkable to the waterfront you’re better getting an Uber.

Cons: first of all we arrived at 10am after a long flight, we asked if we could pay for an early check in as my partner wasn’t feeling well and wanted to sleep. They said there were no rooms ready so we left the bags and returned at 3pm. The key card didn’t work to get us in the lift so we had to return to reception with the bags and they re swiped it and it worked. We then got up to our room to find the key card wouldn’t work on the room door. Back down to reception to re swipe! This also happened to the person checking in before us. Not what you need after a long flight and when 1 of you is poorly.

I went to the pool whilst my partner slept which was a bit of a faff as it was on the 18th floor and you had to go back down to reception to get them to let you up to the 18th floor.

Pool looked nice but it wasn’t very deep so you couldn’t actually swim in it (it was probs 1m deep). More for Instagram pictures rather than practical!

Ordered a glass of wine from the pool bar, although they didn’t have much choice. When I went to order a second they said they had none left and it was only available by the bottle.

As we checked out we noticed guests arriving being offered a drink (we weren’t offered this).

The view from our room wasn’t great, it was a courtyard and we could just see brick. Wasn’t too fussed as were only staying 1 night.

None of these are major issues as you can see but all just felt very showy for Instagram rather than actually focusing on service.

Fantastic new hotel in CPT close to CTICC.
Booked 3 city view rooms. Checkin was quick and easy. All Staff extremely friendly and helpful from security all the way up to management. Small mixup with our Rooms even though I had called in advance and made special request. Incorrect room types allocated. This was sort of rectified the next day. Rooms are decent size. Compact. Big comfortable beds. Courtyard room has couch with no table. City view rooms slightly larger with table and couch. Bathrooms are modern with rain shower. Drainage in shower not great with cubicle flooding. Rather pay little extra and take city view room for extra space and better outlook. “Courtyard view” overlooks inner building rooftops and low floors (5th floor) get fumes from extractor fans below if window is open. Request high floors if you can. Restaurant breakfast was good although basic. Hotel is Halal Friendly(not the meat) so they will make eggs separate from buffet if requested. Not much selection if you have special diet needs (gluten / lactose intolerant) . Room service is served from main restaurant, a bit pricey but good food. Again limited options & Could do with a bit more variety (basic toasted cheese sandwich would be great). Overall great hotel. Would stay again. It’s New so still has teething problems but hopefully will be sorted out. Pictures are room 1615 , this is NOT the standard city view room.

We are curently at the hotel, we guest checked in. At the reception the guy told us the restaurant closes at 11pm, we went to the restaurant at 09.50pm, and we are told that the restaurant closes at 10pm. So we decided to order from room service, we called room service, the call is diverted to reception, a lady took the order. Then after 50mins no food is received, we called back, surprisingly, there was no order for us.
We booked 3 rooms, the 2 other rooms could not reach the room service, so they had to go the reception to order "room service"- maybe ypu should review your wording and put it "reception food service", i would be better.

As at now, it is almost one and a half hour and there no service. Note that we have 2 old age parents with us!!!

Very bad service, no communication, no hospitality. I will not recommand this hotel.

More like a nightclub rather than a hotel, we stayed for one night and there was a party on the 18th floor with extremely loud music that kept us awake until at least 2am not ideal when you have a 12 hour flight the next day, so if you are looking for a restful stay book elsewhere. Also found it odd that room only had light switches on one side of the bed and for a newer hotel we would have expected at least one usb charging point in the room. Giving one star as room was clean and staff friendly

We were a group of 11 and have just returned after holiday .
Pre arrival ..booked directly almost 8 months in advance (and got a discount) because we paid upfront .
Rooms ..excellent ( we were in City facing standard double rooms ) ..clean , modern , great beds , excellent housekeeping.
Breakfast .. excellent hot and cold buffet , lots of choice ,fruits ,yoghurts etc etc .
Service ..was always with a smile .
Bar ..ground floor ..great vibe and well made cocktails .
Location ...great for us as everything including the restaurants we wanted to eat at were 5 minutes away .
Safety ... We had been warned about not walking around alone ..but we felt totally safe and there was a guard outside always .
Gym ..nice
Pool ..not that great but we didn't have much time to spend at the pool anyway
We are well travelled and would happily recommend the hotel .

Had read reviews about noise from bar area .... We had absolutely no problems.
Thanks to the team at the Rockefeller!

Stayed at the Rockefeller with a tour group. The room was small but the bed was comfortable. The lighting was poor and there are no views. My biggest problems with my stay included a buffet breakfast that had a great selection but many of the hot offerings were cold. The hot water in the shower pulsed from too hot to too cold without reason. There were a large number of staff standing around in the main lobby but nobody seem to do anything. I tried to call the front desk for room service only to find one needed a phone directory, which was only available from the front desk. No wonder I couldn’t get through nobody gave me the code until I finally went to the front desk. I asked for toilet paper no less than four times before it finally appeared. That’s not service that’s an annoyance.

Fiance and I spent 5 nights at the Rockefeller Hotel and it was amazing! The service was the best part of the hotel. The staff and friendly, helpful and just delightful in general. The breakfast was tasty, atmosphere at the hotel bar was vibrant always. Comfortable beds made for a luxurious sleep.
The one thing I would have liked to be different is the tea/coffee station. Usually there is a complimentary station in each room, at other restaurants. At this restaurant , there is nothing in the room and tea/coffee can be requested via room service and you have to pay for this/ have it charged to your room.

Other than that one minor detail, I loved every moment of our stay and would recommend it to others and most definitely will be going back on my next trip!!!

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting Cape Town and had a good experience. The room was a bit smaller than we expected but was ok as we were out most of the day. The location is quite good and the hotel staff friendly and helpful.

Our room safe malfunctioned so our valuables were stuck in the safe for a day but the security team was professional, courteous and got it resolved on the next day.

We were there during taxi strike period and the hotel organised reliable drivers for us. The breakfast spread is very good, the bar and dining options are great. The gym is well equipped too.

The hotel has a vibrant atmosphere on the whole. Nella at reception and Nelly running the concierge desk helped us organise tours and both were very prompt and attentive. Great experience, recommended, we had no problems.

What a beautiful hotel, brand new and shiny! The staff is well trained and friendly, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable, but it is the food and the restaurant which really elevated my experience. From breakfast to lunch and dinner, it was all delicious, beautifully presented and also affordable. Give them a try you won't be sorry.

Only downside was driving round and round the parking garage to the 9th floor every time..but there is a lift and it's only R65 a day.
