Within 2 tours in South Africa we have had wonderful accommodations, the Little Lemon Tree is one of the very best of them!

The location is close to the city (by walk 20 min. Waterfront, 25 min. city center), there are plenty of free parking slots on the traffic calmed street and the spacious area inside conveys a feel good atmosphere in the middle of Cape Town.
Compared to the low rates the room was very well, excellent value for money. Sure, the rooms are more rustic/vintage style, but all you need and everything is working properly.
Though, the best about the location is the people: host Ralf shows up with absolutely authentic friendliness and his team always has an extra smile for you. We had an amazing breakfast together with all guests with freshly baked bread (although having a power breakdown in whole Greenpoint the day before), ham, cheese, self made lemon jam (WOW!) and also self made whole grain muesli with fresh fruits.

Very positive to mention is the way Ralf manages the lack of water in South Africa. For instance, if you have a shower you can collect the water in buckets and the team uses it for flowers or floor cleaning. Thank you for taking care of the environment and people who need water much more urgent than we do.

From now on each Cape Town trip we will stay at Little Lemon Tree!

The breakfast is unbeatable.
Highly recommended.

I have stayed at the Little Lemon Tree two years running and spend 4 weeks there as part of my annual holidays. I have been to Cape Town for 8 years now and will return to the Little Lemon next year as well. I stay in one of the smaller rooms and it is clean, comfortable and convenient. The Staff at the Little Lemon are extremely friendly and Ralf goes out of his way to make sure everyone knows everyone else and breakfast is always a great pleasure mixing and meeting people from different countries. It is a great way to start the day and so easy to relax in the garden near the pool with a pot of tea or coffee all day long if you need it. The shade offered by the mature trees in the garden is welcome on very hot days and to relax with a book between tours simply cannot be more enjoyable than at the Little Lemon. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world but the Little Lemon Tree is certainly the most friendly guest house I have ever been to. I will return in 2012.

This is a very Spartan' establishment and not very comfortable. Bed sagged in the middle. Concrete shower and room floors. You have to pay for everything, from coffee, water, etc. breakfast is a communal affair. Continental and very nice. Wouldn't stay here again.

We had a really great time. Rlaf was super welcoming. He took a personal interest in his guests. He helped where ever he could.
The rooms have a decent size. Are always clean and organized. Great that it has a fridge and a safe. We felt home away from home and can only recommend this place to anyone one visiting Cape Town.

We enjoyed a 4-day stay at the Little Lemon Tree. Our room, in the main house, with big, private balcony was lovely: wooden floors, beautiful colours, comfortable bed, great shower. Not sound-proof, but the atmosphere of the house and the place makes up for that. The beautiful and creatively designed garden, is also a nice place to spend some time. And finally, breakfast was a treat and Ralf a very good and helpful host. We'd love to come back to this place!

The little Lemon Tree has everything that you are looking for. Great location, very nice, spacious and clean rooms. Huge breakfast attacking your waistline and great guests. Why is this B&B different than others ?

I can only tell from my own experience that the difference is caused by the proprietor Ralf. The Little Lemon Tree has besides all the great aforementioned attributes a heart and a soul and this is Ralf, supported by his great staff, namely but not restricted to Hilda and Giselle. I felt immediately embraced by the hospitality of this B&B.

I would always recommend the Little Lemon Tree to my friends.

Ralf who is the proprietor does a fine job to make sure folks are comfortable.

His staff are neat tidy and polite the place runs like a Swiss clock and is operated with precision of Germans hospitality

I will definitely go there again and I am particular about stuff especially at the morning buffet type continental dining table of breakfast found nothing wanting at all

The place is small and not too commercial and cool a swell as funky with personalized service and care as a owner operator would only give

It was an absolute pleasure to go there and i will do so again too .

The pool and garden are simply beautiful and garden filled with peculiar statues and beautiful summer flowering plants such as hibiscus , Ceylons Roses and bouganvilleas as well as tropical plants like strelitzia etc .

To make me feel very at home while rumors abound of loads of thieves in some parts of Cape Town this is not he case here and while you should be careful at all times there security at night who has his watch house on the front perimeter of the property and this helped a lot and as such made me feel safe and knowledge of my car being in good hands while parked on the street outside overseen by the security guards.

Being there assured me i was in safe hands and in a well kept place fit for king

"Depending on your tastes consider to ask for either the old house which is antique and very well restored or new house which is modern and made to look like the old one in a very tasteful manner Personally I seem to think Cape Town is one of the best Cities in the World ,it certianly is unique and might not necessarily be cost effective to visit for ever"
