We have just returned from a fabulous 12 nights stay at the Orange Guest House. Aina is a superb hostess, making us feel very welcome in her home. The quirky guest house is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and perfectly located in a quiet area at the foot of Table Mountain.
Aina goes out of her way to ensure you have a wonderful stay, we miss her already!I
Definitely recommend you stay there if you are looking for accommodation away from the city centre.

I stayed at Orange guest house during my short visits to Cape town. First the reservation was smooth and Aina was very responsive and sweet. She arranged everything for me, including a ride to my work meeting and even offered to arrange a tour when I couldn't book one. ]She is also a lovely and genuine person as described, what you see is what you get, the breakfast is fantastic (hands down the best omelet I have ever had), the room was clean with breathtaking view of Table mountain, and Aina will go out of her way to help you. I also have tremendous respect for hardworking women like her. It is true that I was the only non Norwegian during these days so yes, you will hear Norwegian all around you during breakfast. But at the same time Norwegians are some of the nicest people out there, so I don't mind. Also, at night, you will not be able to walk to the closest hangout place (Kloof street) so plan to either rent a car or Aina will happily call a cab for you (and it will cost you a couple dollars), she even dropped off one day. Oh, one more thing: my last day, Aina included some Salmon from Norway to my breakfast, I asked her where she bought it and she said that some of the guests brought it to her as a present from Norway because smoked Salmon is very expensive in Cape Town, and here she is sharing it with other guests!. It's like staying with family. Again, thank you Aina!

I stayed with Eina, a very caring Norwegian lady and owner of the Orange GH, for five days and felt at home from the first moment. Rooms are well looked after, breakfast good and divers and Eina is always helpful if you need an advice for discovering the surrounding. It is located in Oranjezicht, the posh housing area on the slope of the Table mountain. Ten minutes walk down to the city centre. Although it better to take a taxi back as the area is rather steep.
I'll be back!

Booked into this lovely guesthouse on business trip to Cape Town. Rooms, interior, decorations, terraces, and not to forget the (more than you can expect) service-minded owner and host, Ms Aina, really makes this place something to remember and come back to. With 6 guestrooms, this must be the perfect place for a group of holiday friends wanting a place for themselves. Top rating!

Beautifully located at the slopes of Table Mountain. Orange guesthouse is run by Norwegian Aina Thorseth who takes very good care of all here guests, gives great advice and helps arranging trips in the Cape Town area. From the guesthouse you can easily access all the famous sites in Cape Town and there is a cafe and small shop 100 meters up the street in case you are missing your breakfast or would like to buy food for a picnic. If you have a rental car it is no problem finding a parking space in the street outside the guesthouse. The rooms are all facing Table Mountain, with modern bath rooms and very nice interior.

The Orange Guest House was recommended by a friend and we found it to be very comfortable. It is located in a nice area under the slopes of Table Mountain with good access Kloof Street eateries, including Melissa’s Deli, and Shanghai restaurant. A short taxi ride took you to the base of Table Mtn to join the cable car queues. Definitely worth the journey to the top.

The owner and host, Aina was very quick to reply to any email prior to arriving, and was extremely helpful in booking our taxis, and with restaurant suggestions and reservations, while we were there.

We thought the Orange Guest House to be very much like staying in a friend’s house, it was homely, relaxed and felt very safe. The breakfast was a nice mix of continental and cooked. There was an honesty system re lounge areas if other drinks were required through the day or night.

We would recommend the Orange Guest House as a place to stay in Cape Town.

My husband booked 5 nights in the Orange Guesthouse for the first half of our honeymoon trip to South Africa - and it did not disappoint! Aina was unbelievably accommodating from the start, even handling some minor logistical difficulties that I had to deal with from hotels.com. We emailed several times about the trip, including her suggestions for things to do during our time in Cape Town. She offered to arrange transport to and from the airport (which was amazing after 24 hours of travel) and greeted us upon our late arrival. She was so welcoming and knowledgeable and it was so nice to see a friendly face after such a long trip. Her breakfasts all week have been to die for - she even tailored them to what we wanted on some days! She made countless recommendations for us during our week here, even booked us a tour at 11pm the night before we wanted to go, and did our laundry for us!! Our room was amazing, and included a great balcony with an unbelievable view of Table Mountain. If you're looking for a fancy hotel, this is probably not for you -- but if you want some local flair (with a Norwegian twist, as she is an expat) and unparalleled attentiveness, this is the place for you. I highly, highly recommend it and will totally come back if we return to Cape Town!!!

Family style cozy guest house with opportunity to interact with guests from various countries. Hostess is central to operation and is concerned about everyone's well being. Accomodation is clean with balconies throughout.
