Room was fine but do not eat in the restaurant. Had mussels and had to send them back twice as unopened. Menu is very slim too. Room fine but moved after a conference when I paid to extend my stay and had an email saying it’s ok, just tell the desk. Didn’t happen.

Very efficient check-in. Good buffet break fast, Superb rooms, great staff. Hotel has its own power generator in case of electricity outage. Comfortable beds, great shower and bath. Quite possibly the best hotel we have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Stayed for one night, modern looking room with king bed a tub that divided the bed with the restroom sink. The toilet and shower were in two separate stalls. There was a pod operated coffee machine, kettle and fridge. Breakfast was extra so I didn't had it. In the afternoon I went to the bar in the lobby and ordered their kale salad and a drink; the ingredients were good but the salad was drenched in a sweet dressing that overpowered all the ingredients so much that it felt like eating a fruit salad and not in a good way. When the server came to pick the plate and asked about the food (I couldn't eat much) I told her that the ingredients were good but the dressing was way too much. She looked surprised and said that the dressing was supposed to be on the side, I told her that I received it all mixed together. She shrugged and left with the plate. Later she brought the bill, I paid cash and although it wasn't much I didn't get my change back, didn't bother much but not sure if this is common over there so just wanted to mention. The area around seemed to have a few restaurants and there was a museum just next door. Uber eats was a great alternative to avoid eating in the hotel.

This hotel experience was perfect. The welcome, the room service, the quality of the hotel, the amenities, the quality of the linen, the wifi, the house keeping, and everything at this hotel was superb, and the hotel staff made you feel welcome and all with a smile.

I was in Cape Town on business and generally found the hotel to be pleasant. But what I have to emphasise in particular is a member of the hotel staff, Mrs Leanne Spechtler, the Guest Relations Manager, who was simply breathtaking with her competence, her commitment, her helpfulness and her warmth. If I had a company in Cape Town, I would poach her from the spot. Mrs Spechtler is the epitome of hospitality and the hotel can be extremely lucky to have such a highly qualified and enthusiastic employee. I will miss her kindness and her laughter.

I wish I could mention every single person that I interacted with. All of the front desk clerks were AMAZING, welcoming and super helpful. They gave me recommendations on food, activities, nightlife etc. Not to mention, I received a room UPGRADE and I was having issues with my travel adapter/converter. They went out of their way to let me charge my phone until I was able to buy a new one from across the street. My room service was quick and delicious on my first night. Secondly, Leanne was wonderful in reserving a tour for me after I couldn't decide on what to do. I had a chance to stop in for a light breakfast at the restaurant and the service was lovely. The wonderful servers kept making sure that everything was to my liking. Lastly, I cannot forget the bellhops/security. I sparked up a few conversations with them as I waited for my UBER. They greeted me with smiles and laughs every time. I can't say enough good things about my time at the Capital. The only thing I can say was that it was TOO SHORT. I hope to be back soon!

I had a complicated stay at the Capital. The bad: during our experience at the spa we were robbed. Our locker was tampered with, and my husbands wedding ring and cash was stolen. We asked the hotel for help and/or compensation for the ring - they declined without so much as an apology. We still have not heard about our police report or investigation, a month later. They noted no cameras or security entering or inside the spa at all. The good: we were upgraded to a better suite and generally treated well. The location is lovely, as is the amenities and room service. Overall: complex feelings. The hotel is almost a 5-star, wonderful experience but when push comes to shove, the staff did not care about theft - employee or other guest - and the spa staff belittled us and made us feel awful for “making a big deal” of it. We were on our honeymoon and it broke our hearts to be treated like a problem when this happened.

Room Tip: Please beware of the spa inside the hotel. It’s obvious the staff has no failsafe against theft-...

Definitely a must visit. Staff are friendly, the service is great. The rooms are spacious and very neat. And the mountain views are breath taking! The hotel is also very close to malls, shops and restaurants.
