Always Great Returning to The One 8 Hotel. Christian was a great help and very accommodating from the time I called until the time I checked out. The room is a decent size although the tv could do with an upgrade or more variety of channels (DSTV). The bed was a bit too hard for my liking.

The bathroom is really awesome! I loved the size of the shower and the water pressure was great! very convenient with so many places to eat around you, just walking distance. loved the pool area and ambiance surround the pool area. Definitely coming back again!

It was very quiet a good thing, room was spacious, really can’t fault the place even if I wanted to. Remember to ask for the main gate access code or you will keep buzzing for them to open for you. Lovely breakfast, nice pool area. I would stay here again and definitely would recommend. Perfect internet so despite outdated tv’s you can stream what you want on your device. As the Chanel selection on their tv’s is not pleasant.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and we appreciate your lovely comments. We also note your mention of the TV channels, our apologies, we have recently upgraded again with DSTV but still have issues. We will sort this out!

Nice little hotel in a quiet and pleasant area of Cape Town, very close to the Waterfront and with lots of small restaurants within walking distance. The welcome is professional and warm (Christian speaks French, which may help some of us 😊). The breakfast is plentiful and excellent, you have private parking for your car and our room (n*1) was large and very comfortable.
In summary, if you rather like hotels with scale and human relations, don't hesitate!

It is truely difficult to rate this hotel low. Everything was good and genuine. The staff at breakfast, cleaning lady, reception Ilak (?) and Christian ......but I noticed later that I had booked our room in haste. The same week/days we lived in the hotel the rooms were available for much cheaper price. I fall in love with all brilliant reviews and paied alot which made me disappointed. Whatever the staff did wouldnt make me sattisfy simply because I have chosen a crazy minute to approve my booking. I just couldnt come over that fact!

To sum up, this is a real good hotel of its own style (kind of beeing served at home), nothing fancy, no lift but comfy and clean; Still you should do your research comparing other options before booking it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the comfort, cleanliness, and the warmth of our staff during your stay. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our team. We understand your frustration regarding the room rates. The prices for the rooms indeed fluctuate depending on the booking platform, availability, and demand at the time of booking. Unfortunately as you did not book directly with us but with an online tour operator this is beyond our control, however most do offer a price match guarantee you could use. We always strive to offer competitive rates, and we encourage guests to compare options to find the best deals that suit their needs.

A friend and I recently stayed at this boutique hotel and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Tate, our host, was just amazingly helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. The hotel's hot tub was truly an added bonus and allowed us to take our relaxation to the next level. The location is great as you are out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to everything....especially the promenade, which made for the most perfect sunset walk. All in all - a great experience.

Everything about this hotel was perfect! Beaner and Chris, a couple of the hotel management team, went above and beyond to make us comfortable and they did it all with smiles. The room was clean, very quiet and was well supplied with everything we needed. The breakfast was hot and cooked to perfection. There was an assortment of places to sit outside either by the very clean pool or a lovely sunroom. We were only 2 short blocks to the waterfront. We will definitively recommend this hotel

The hotel is small and very cozy. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Our room at second floor was very specious and clean. Maybe but more expensive, but worth it. I really recommend this hotel.
Location is good and safety.
Only thing I missed was complementary water bottles in room.

Thank you so much for your kind and positive review, we really do appreciate it. As for the complimentary water, you are absolutely correct, a 1 litre bottle should have been in your room on arrival. I do apologise and will look into this. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Didn’t get value for money I paid for. The bed comfort was terrible as though sleeping on springs. They couldn’t even change the bed. The showers didn’t have a door so water splashed all over the room, wet and with no one available to clean or dry up the place. The TV channels were not available as promised, not even SABC 1. The breakfast was good though, and stuff friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to review. The en-suite has a wet room shower not a cubicle, many guests prefer it, housekeeping service the room daily and will always dry the bathroom so we are a little confused by your comment. TV channels may have been altered by previous but staff are always available to reset anything , they were there at reception or by dialing 0. However we did inspect the bed and one mattress was not a perfect as it should be, our sincere apologies and thanks you bringing it to our attention, both mattresses have been replaced, you did however receive a 40% discounted rate.

Overall not to bad. The room could be updated a little and had a cold shower. But the staff was very helpful and friendly and always smiling. Great location and close to shops and the promenade and the hub of Seapoint.

Is there a restaurant in the hotel ?
Answer from PaulCapeRoyale
Cape Town Central, South Africa4 contributions
Yes of course. It is room 9 and is called exactly what you wrote. Small ground floor budget double room. The deluxe rooms with balconies and the superior rooms are the quietest and look over the pool/garden. Standard rooms are also fine but look to the side, they are on the 1st and 2nd floors.

The One 8 Hotel are very obliging and will arrange for airport-hotel transfers at a very reasonable cost - they did this for us and all you do is let them know what your flight number is and what time it is due in and they will make sure that you are picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel
Answer from y996d
