Great location: it’s located on long street. There are many restaurants in walking distance and V&A waterfront is only 20-30 min walk from grand daddy. Room: it’s modern, clean and well maintained. The only drawback is that many mosquitoes were in our room Staff: they are friendly but not most helpful. They weren’t able to provide comprehensive PCR testing site info and we ended doing our own research Noise: probably due to the location, there’s plenty of noise. The music from the bar/pub nearby could keep going until midnight everyday
If you fancy something different and quirky stay 1 or 2 nights at the grand daddy in one of their roof top air streamers. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Only negative is that on site parking is limited and the other option is a car park off site at the end of the road.
Central, clean, fantastic staff, great management, delicious breakfast and funky concept! The sky bar was such a nice surprise as well as the restaurant downstairs at the entrance. Rooms are comfortable with small details taken into consideration. Will definitely be back.
The Rooftop Airstream Trailer Park is a real treat for Airstream enthusiasts! This is a historical old hotel in a busy part of downtown Cape Town. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The airstreams are beautifully refitted and tastefully decorated.
We have stayed at Grand Daddy while we were in Cape Town and loved our new experience there. I say that we’ve had a new experience, because during the first night spent there we’ve slept in one of their amazing vans that they have ‘camped’ on their rooftop. It was actually the first time we’ve slept in a trailer and we loved it. As you can see in the pictures these were super cool trailers, all silver on the outside and the whole rooftop had a very lunar look. Inside, they were more than comfortable and equipped with everything you may possibly need. And as cool as the trailers are, they also have many large rooms and suites where you can spend time. After the first night, we’ve checked into one of their suites, that looked amazing with a large bedroom, living room, bathroom and also a terrace. If you ever go to Cape Town and you definitely should, then Grand Daddy is the best and coolest place to be and you should book at least one night in one of the trailers.…
