Staying at the One & Only was a dream family holiday because it felt like home away from home. The team are like family. We had everything we needed for my 8month old son provided for by the hotel from a sterilizer, cutlery, customized meals, a baby bath tub, etc. They even gifted him with a personalized teddy bear which he really loved.
Thank you to the phenomenal dream team: Morning greetings and dance time Clement :), Rafeeqa, Carmen, Primrose and Aubrey for the special attentive care at meal times and a special thank you to Bronwyn for organizing our anniversary spectacular breakfast and treats.
We loved our stay and will definitely be returning again!

The best holiday / break that we have had in a long time. It was very "spur of the moment" but I would recommend the One & Only to anyone!. From the start we were immediatly made to feel at home, I had my aged parents of 85 years with me and the staff could not do enough to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. The social distancing, sanitizing and spacious seating made us all feel comfortable and safe. What a team, I would like to thank all employees for their efforts, you should all be very proud. The food that was prepared for us was "out of this world", we ate our dinner in the lounge / dinning area of the hotel and this was the highlight of our day, a must try for sure.

The One & Only Cape Town is simply outstanding. The location is ideal, by the V&A Waterfront, yet you feel like you are miles from anything. The island rooms are amazing and we loved having breakfast each morning on the Ochre terrace with a view of Table Mountain. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff cannot do enough to help and are so genuine and friendly.

We were treated like royalty! One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff were the friendliest, most efficient and helpful that I've ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They offered us an early check in and late check out without us even asking. The hotel, rooms and gardens are immaculate and the attention to detail mind-boggling. The facilities in the rooms incredible -robes, slippers, Charlotte Rhys bath and shower toiletries, individual hand sanitisers and masks! Words just can't do this place justice - you need to experience it for yourself!

What an absolutely phenomenal experience. I don’t think I’ve ever come across such warm passionate staff in my travels and the genuineness really makes all the difference. The resort is picturesque and in the best location right next to the waterfront, but the caliber of the on-site restaurants (do a sushi making masterclass at Nobu!) mean that there is really no need to leave. But you must also make sure you go on a hike with David - we did Table Mountain with him and it’s probably my favourite hike of all time. David is knowledgeable, friendly and super enthusiastic and ensured we made it to the top without getting lost (a real possibility considering all the trails and their relative unmarkedness!). But best of all is the safety and cleanliness in the pandemic - second to none. Will be back for sure, thank you team

This was my second time staying at the One and Only hotel and my husband's first. We had a fabulous stay while on honeymoon in Cape Town. The O&A staff were exceptional from the moment we checked in. They surprised us with honeymoon baskets and upgrades which made our trip so unique and special. We felt like celebrities (and trust us, we're not!). The concierge desk, serviced with several amazing people, were helpful, knowledgeable, and organized...even helping us coordinate private tours before we arrived. The food is delicious, the rooms are gorgeous, and the views are even more incredible. The hotel's location makes it easy for tourists to explore what Cape Town has to offer, although if you go when it's warm you won't want to leave the pool...it's really something! The One and Only really lives up its luxury reputation and if you're looking for a place to stay in Cape Town, this is it.

The One&Only is not our typical hotel; it is a resort that caters to your every need. From the standard rooms that are spacious and well equipped to the magnificent suites - which are huge and offer every last luxury one can imagine. The staff at the hotel are attentive but not intrusive, always polite and available. It is the perfect destination for a family holiday where kids can be safely and happily entertained at the outstanding Kids Club when not swimming in the beautiful pool. The pool deck being one of my favorite spots to relax and sip cocktails under the African sun. Breakfast are beyond delicious with every possible option available - if by chance you’d like something that is not set out in the many buffet platters or menu, all you’d need to do is ask. Nobu - which is inside the hotel complex is always a delicious and decadent experience. Our holidays here are consistently fabulous, with the hotel ensuring that we feel like valued guests as opposed to room number. I can only rave about this hotel and recommend it. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!

We stayed at this property for 3 nights in early August and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and had the most beautiful view of Table Mountain and the canals. Our pre-checkin requests to have a connecting room with our children and an extra roll away in their room was met and taken care of ahead of our arrival. The location is fantastic- we were under a 5 minute walk to the waterfront shops, dining and ferris wheel. The dining at both Nobu and the restaurant for breakfast were great. This will definitely be where we stay should be return one day to Cape Town and we highly recommend it to others.

Hotel is situated in a convenient location, just a short walk from the waterfront shopping and restaurants and nightlife.
The property itself is adequate. Nice pool area, and the best part of the hotel is that it has a Nobu in the lobby.
In terms of the “extras”
The spa is old. The steam room was broken when I went, and there was mold outside of the door. The indoor vitality pool also had some lights out and ants were in the rocks that surrounded the pool. It has the basic necessities but by no means will it WOW you, like the One and Only is known for.
In terms of the room, the first room we had (which was an upgrade through fine hotels and resorts) was not suitable as they had huge blowers in the hallway outside the door to clear up some water damage on the carpet. When they moved us to another room, the space and light were nice and bed was comfortable.
The hallways were also consistently dirty with cleaning supplies and old room service trays.
If I were to come back to Cape Town again, and I was looking to spend this type of money, I would instead stay at the Silo Hotel. It is new, clean, very beautiful and certainly has a lux feel.
