We Stayed for 6 nights mid March in this lovely boutique hotel. We were greeted by one of our 3 butler’s during our stay Innocent who showed us to our top floor corner room 503 I think.Lovely big room with large bathroom and a nice terrace looking out over the garden and pool to the V&A. Donovan looked after us during breakfast which was very nice with lots of cooked options available and a great buffet spread. The location was excellent just 2 minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars of the V@A and a great craft market. Both Innocent and Donovan were excellent hosts. The third butler was X who we interacted with a bit more as he was on in the afternoon and he went above and beyond calling us taxis in the evening and printing of forms required for our onward journey etc. He is another great asset to this hotel. Their sister hotel Queen Victoria and was about 70 meters away with a nice bar area and restaurant and we had some fun in there with the bar man and one very happy waitress who’s names I’m sorry I can’t remember. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for service and location and thank the 3 butlers for looking after us so well during our stay and I hope to return one day.…
This location can't be beat. The hotel is directly across from all the action on the waterfront. Our room was large and well appointed and the staff were wonderful. Innocent, the butler, was very accommodating and even arranged reservations at the last minute for a great meal. Our travel plans were disrupted by airline issues and the hotel helped with luggage storage and a spot to perch that evening while waiting for the transport to the airport. Treat yourself to an historic and convenient hotel.
Stayed here for the first 3 nights of our holiday and what a great way to begin, a beautiful boutique hotel right next door to the Waterfront in a fantastic location with free parking. Our room on the top floor looked over the grounds and into the waterfront was just lovely and big. They don't have a bar or restaurant on site, but their sister hotel the Queen Victoria right opposite does and is where you have your breakfast. Staff there, including the security guards outside so friendly. Donovan and Innocent are 2 great guys and a credit to the hotel. A wonderful stay.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in Feb 22-absolutely loved it-great location close to harbour and staff couldn’t have been more helpful (Donovan a star) we had first floor bedroom which had a great view
Donovan and Team Dock House, we want to extend an extra special thank you for making our wedding anniversary and stay with you on 16 /17 December so truly memorable. Every staff member can be super proud of being part of the Newmark family, your training and service delivery is remarkable…we will forever treasure this milestone celebration we made with you!
I have to start ro say, what a stay. This boutique hotel is a fantastic jewel in the heart of Waterfront but still in its own peace and quiet. Every room is specious, well maintained and beautiful. The staff is super and helpful and always in a good mood in the lead of Mr Tyler. Well done! Having breakfast by the pool under the palm tree is a good start for the day. Dip in to the pool makes you fresh and ready to explore the beautiful city. As fitness is important for me, I was satisfied with the gym as well as with the spa. From the hotel was about 4 minutes walk to the lively Waterfront. My husband and I enjoyed every second of our three weeks stay. The only thing what I would do is the fix the doors so that one does not wake up when another guest closes his/hers room door. But the our stay was super, thank you!…
We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The service from the staff was incredible throughout our stay. We received the biggest surprise when we arrived as we got upgraded to the most incredible suite. I must make a special mention of Janet who is one of the managers there. She made our stay so special and we really felt like it was a home away from home. Super central, can walk to V&A waterfront and a lot of great restaurants close by. Would defiantly go back.
From the moment we checked in, we were pampered and looked after like Royalty. This is a hidden gem tucked away amongst the hustle and bustle of the V@A Waterfront. Every member of staff went out of their way to make each day superb. We will be back, I now have my favorite CT hotel!
A birthday treat for my wife , celebrating a very special Birthday in a wonderful location at a great hotel. The best thing about the hotel is the staff , all are great and to give a special mention to one wouldn’t seem right as everyone was so lovely . The location of the hotel is just yards from the V and A waterfront but far enough away to be a quiet haven of tranquility . The hotel was everything it should have been A real recommend
We stayed ten days here, early January 2020. We booked via BA, and the hotel has five rooms and one suite. We were fortunate to have the suite on the ground level. The door leads to a hallway, a right turn takes you into a lounge, a left the bathroom and straight ahead, the bedroom with a private courtyard that leads directly to the gardens and pool. We emailed in advance to confirm our booking after reading a couple of reviews regarding hotel changes and Tyler the manager confirmed our booking. He sent spa brochures, excursion lists and offered to help with anything we needed, and so began the gentle but exemplary service of Dock House. The moment you arrive it’s one of those places that ooze relaxation and comfort, whilst a boutique historical hotel it has many quality features that are lacking in larger hotels. Breakfast was described in my booking as “continental” a selection of items are laid out (including oysters!) but they also offer a fully cooked option as they share kitchens with the nearby Victoria Hotel. All bread is freshly baked daily. Lunch around the pool is by far the best I have ever had at a hotel. Butter chicken flatbread, soup, larger meals to the amazing QT salad. Expect around £6 per person, all washed down with peach lemonade. For two of the mornings we wandered to nearby hotels owned by the same group for a change. The choice was not as good as Dock House although the buffet style offerings had more variety. We went to the nearby Dash restaurant which again is owned by the same group for a fantastic evening meal. Their speciality is tasting menus but having eaten our way around Cape Town we went A La Carte and it was scrumptious! The hotel also has a spa, step outside the main door, turn left and walk eight paces! I had three treatments here, very reasonably priced and good quality - highly recommended. The pool area is lovely, watched over by the Ball Tower, a local landmark. A garden with sun beds which can be used by other hotels in the group, a small but more than adequate pool, and the afore-mentioned small pool bar with fantastic food! The service was amazing! Trips were planned, taxis ordered, assistance given where required, and flowers and pink gin placed in my room whilst I was out for my birthday meal. Tyler is a great manager, a perfect example of when to offer assistance and when to offer privacy. We will be back to finish those trips we didn’t do this time, and we will see Dock House again. All the staff Noname, Twoboys and the others whose names I don’t want to get wrong were excellent. Would love to see private cooking afternoon offered with the excellent chefs, would have bought that in a flash. Love their use of products, loved the freshness and despite the fact that Cape Town is over-run with quality food, we couldn’t beat our Cape Town home of Dock House for quality and value. Surprisingly quiet given its proximity to Victoria and Alfred Pier. Thank you all.…
