Zest Boutique Hotel, located in Green Point, right in the middle of Cape Town and close to most attractions, is a vibey and interesting boutique hotel, where trend setters and opinion makers feel comfortable. Internally, the décor is simply remarkable, impressively taking inspiration from the care-free days of the 70’s and catapulting it into the modern world creating a wonderful combination of vibrant and contemporary colour, light and creativity. There are fourteen double guest rooms; each one designed to maximise space and light. All rooms have an impressive range of facilities including king size bed, ensuite bathroom, a laptop safe, plasma TV, free Wi-fi, air conditioning, designer teas and pod coffee machines, and locally made biodegradable bathroom amenities. Included in the services offered are a 24-hour concierge, a day room, breakfast served until 11am every day, an all-day dining menu, in-house laundry, a bar, and Spa Treatments, either in the comfort of your room, or at the Zest Spa treatment room in its sister hotel just 3 minutes’ walk away. Zest Boutique Hotel is part of The Living Journey Collection and beautifully compliments The Tree House Boutique Hotel in Cape Town, Chapter House Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek, One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel in Hermanus and The River Manor Boutique Hotel in Stellenbosch.

Zest Boutique Hotel has been praised for its cozy atmosphere and clean, spacious rooms, though a few guests noted the beds could be improved. The hotel's location is a hit for being close to the waterfront with easy taxi access. Many appreciate the attentive service and added amenities like the pool and complimentary treats.
While some travelers find the prices steep, others feel the value is justified by the amenities and services provided. The hotel's environmental efforts and sister hotel massage services are also popular among guests.

We had a great 4 night stay at this hotel
We stayed in room 9 which was on the front of the hotel third floor
Modest size room with the shower incorporated into the bedroom
Hotel was very clean and location just a short walk to the waterfront.
The breakfasts where great. A large cold buffet with a hot made to order selection. Set us up for the day !
Staff super friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay relaxing.
The hotel also arranged our pick up from the airport
Nice to have a pool but it’s not heated.
Also a roof top terrace
Sampled some lovely gin cocktails in the lounge area before retiring for the evening !
Complementary afternoon cake and coffee available
Nice to have our own coffee machine in the bedroom with decent coffee

Many thanks for your lovely review and we are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Zest, and in Cape Town. Thank you for capturing so many of our extra little touches in your comments. Our breakfast is always popular so I am pleased that you also enjoyed that. Our gin menu is a relatively new and very popular addition, and it is wonderful to be showcasing some of the Cape's best boutique gins. Please do stay in touch. We would love to assist you in planning your next trip to the Cape Town area, and to welcome you back to Villa Zest Boutique Hotel, or indeed another one of The Living Journey Collection in Cape Town and the Cape Wine lands. Warm regards Lorraine

I stayed at Zest recently on a business trip. I travel to Cape Town frequently and wanted to try a new place and experience a new neighborhood. Zest had a special offer (three nights for the price of two) so it was very affordable. Check-in went smoothly and the receptionist was a great help to me when I discovered that I had left my bag in the Uber that had just dropped me off. She kept me calm and helped me to contact the driver who immediately returned with the bag, the angel that he was. She offered me a cold drink and showed me to my room, making sure I understood where everything was. I had a Deluxe Room on the second floor. The room is not huge but it is comfortable. Not that while the toilet is separated from the room by a door, the sink and the shower are in the main room which is a bit unusual. As I was on my own, I did not find this to be a problem. The bed was big and comfortable. There is also a desk where you can comfortably work and the wireless internet generally met my needs. There were little treats on my pillow every night and there is also tea and a pod coffee maker in the room, all nice touches. I liked that the toiletries provided were in large bottles (and not single use) minimizing waste and that there is a bucket in the shower that you can use to collect water - the housekeepers use it for cleaning. The breakfast is nice with a small buffet and a list of five or six hot items that you can order. I also loved the fact that there is tea/coffee and cake available in the afternoon. There is a lovely pool but it is not heated so don't count on using it in the winter months. There is also a gas fire place outside and the staff will turn it on for you so you can sit outside and enjoy your cake. I also enjoyed the view of Cape Town from the rooftop deck. The hotel is just one street off the main drag in Greenpoint so it is relatively quiet but it is a very quick walk to lots of shops and restaurants (including Bootlegger Coffee, Giovannis, and Jason Bakery, all of which are worth a visit). It is also right across the street from an interesting cafe/coffee shop called The Strangers Club that is in an old house and features a number of interesting shops. I enjoyed my stay at Zest and all of the personal attention from their friendly staff.

The Hotel is clean, well positioned, well laid out and is comfortable. The service is very good and the breakfast was also good. Effort was evident in the small touches, masks and sanitiser, fresh green apples, etc. would definitely recommend this stay!

When planning a week to spend in South Africa, we had heard about the Living Journey boutique hotels. We had stayed in the Tree House before and were looking for the personal touch experienced with this collection of boutique hotels and it was just as special as we wished. We contacted them and they suggested we spend one or two nights in some of their hotels. They organized transfers between hotels so we didn’t even need to hire a car which turned out to be a great decision. Everyone working in the hotels was incredibly welcoming and helpful. We wanted to eat out so the bed and breakfast option was ideal. All hotels are an easy stroll to town with a choice of restaurants. Breakfast is delicious with buffet food - fruit, pastries, cheeses etc and plenty of cooked options. There is a homemade cake every day mid afternoon and coffee /tea all day. The poolside deck chairs have thick cushions and are fabulously comfortable for relaxing by the pool. There is a bar for evening drinks before heading out. Some hotels have specialty gins/brandy. Each hotel is unique with its own style and personality which makes it very interesting to travel between hotels. We had a fabulous trip and will definitely book again when back in South Africa.
We had a lovely room with a balcony. The outdoor area on the ground level is really nice especially for eating breakfast outside, but after a long journey we preferred to crash on the fabulous roof terrace which was very spacious with waterfront views.
The location was quiet on a suburban road yet around 10 mins walk to the waterfront.
We had dinner at Carne which was excellent. Love this hotel and want to come back.

Dear Ella Thank you for your wonderful review, and for choosing Zest Boutique Hotel for your recent trip to Cape Town. I am delighted that you have now had the chance to experience both The Tree House and Zest - and it is great they your loved both of them equally. Our location is really special - right in the middle of things but just off the beaten trach to guarantee some peace and quiet. The rood terrace is a truly special oasis and great for everything from morning yoga to lazy afternoons with a book, to sipping cocktails. I am so pleased that you also enjoyed this space. It is great to read that you would like to come back. Please stay in touch and let us know when you are planning your next trip to the area. We would love to welcome you back to Zest Boutique Hotel, and perhaps some of the other hotels from The Living Journey Collection in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Hermanus and Robertson. Warm regards and all the best for a wonderful start to 2023. Regards Lorraine

I felt like I found a new home in Cape Town. I love the modern but cozy interior design with it's friendly staffs. My room was the one by the pool downstairs, it is the only room on that level and I found it very private. It was very spacey and clean. The location is convenient and also close to V&A waterfront, only 20 mins walk but closer if you take the Uber. Totally recommended.

10 room boutique hotel with easy walking distance to the V&A waterfront as well as the central business district. Had a balconied room with a nice view of the waterfront. Room was very clean and spacious. It’s serviced twice a day and complimentary bottled water is left each time. Oversized king bed with a terrific mattress, pillows and quality linen. The shower is located within the bedroom area so if you’re not with your sweetheart you may miss a bit of privacy. The toilet is contained behind a door. Morning breakfast is nicely done with numerous hot items made to order as well as a cold buffet.
The staff are absolutely terrific. They recognize you and greet you by name as you come and go. They’ll assist with any needs including arranging transportation with a trusted driver whom they have a relationship with. I really can’t say enough as to how wonderful the staff are!!
The Zest Boutique is a perfect place to reside as you explore Cape Town.

We had 6 days at the VZ and we didn't regret it. The Hotel was clean and the rooms very spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to assist you if required. It was also very quiet.
From a location perspective it is about a 10 minutes walk to the V and A although the hotel were always happy to provide their driver or arrange a taxi if you wanted to go further afield.

We stayed here for 3 nights for my wife’s 50th birthday just before New Year’s Eve. As other reviews have said location is excellent, just a short walk in to the waterfront and we didn’t feel unsafe at any time around the area. They are a number of good restaurants just around the corner from the hotel and a Woolworths also. Breakfast is made to order and again top notch. All the staff are polite and courteous. If we ever visit Cape Town again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hotel again. 10 out of 10.

My husband and I work together and were in town for a conference and dislike large conference hotels. It was recommended by our travel agent to stay at Zest and we couldn't have been happier. Location to the V&A Waterfront was great. It was very walkable and we would walk downtown for the conference in the mornings. There are also cute restaurants/bars just down the street if you want to pop in for a meal or drink.
Most important in the stay was the top-notch service. The staff of Zest is probably the some of the best we have encountered and we travel world-wide. The service starts when you enter the hotel thoughtfully explaining items in your (cute/cozy) room. The rooms are charming/modern, well-equipped and comfortable with daily cleaning and touchups during the day. The breakfast included both hot and cold options and all of it was delicious. The "cake of the day" was a welcome treat in the afternoon after a long day in a conference. All of these experiences included their lovely staff that were present and attentive.
Faye, Natalie, and all the staff really make you feel special. We cannot say enough about this wonderful staff that represents the hotel. I even indulged in a pedicure at their sister hotel up the street. It was lovely and Zarrah was as sweet and accommodating as they come. We will recommend it to all of our friends, our colleagues and make sure the travel agent knows about the amazing Zest Boutique Hotel. Zest is the best.

Thanks for contacting us.
Yes, there are plenty of ATM machines within easy walking distance of the hotel, but if you are uneasy about having cash, UBER works very well here.
We are about a ten-minute walk from the V&A Waterfront.
Warm regards.

I can recall that we have parked right in front of the property but dont think it was gated. We did not have any issues but one can never be sure. I do think that at least four parkings were reserved for this property but as I said, off the street in front of it.
They dont open onto the pool but windows face the pool. Hope this helps.
Good day
Our rooms can accommodate 2 people maximum, and I would recommend booking, 3 rooms (1 double,1 twin and 1 single room). If you could provide me with the dates that you think of staying, I will let you know which room types we have available, since we have different room types, and different seasonal rates.
Kind regards,
Michelle (General Manager)
