We stayed in an apartment managed by African Elite at the new Cape Quarter annex that opened early November. The location is excellent with many restaurants and shops in the Cape Quarter, which is in the Waterkant district. Laundry is in the apartment, which was fantastic, as well as wireless internet access. It is a 15 - 20 minute walk to both the V&A Waterfront and historic sites. There is also free underground parking in the garage. The apartment is self-catering, but there is a grocery in the building. Beautiful views from both the bedrooms and balcony. Be aware that the apartment is very modern. Neither the bedrooms or bathrooms have doors, so privacy is extremely limited. As the Cape Quarter also has entertainment on the weekends, the noise level can be quite loud, although we were there opening weekend so it may not be as bad at other times. The music doesn't go past midnight or so.

We stayed at 201 De Waterkant Piazza on De Smit St. The 1st floor 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, very clean and stylish. Air conditioned in the through lounge but multiple fans throughout the rest of the rooms. Cape Town has been extremely hot during our stay and it was more than adequate to deal with such heat. There is a communal pool for residents with 5-6 sun loungers and a few chairs with 2 parasols. There is only one reason that I wouldn't recommend anybody staying there and that is if you having walking difficulties. It's at the top of a very steep hill that you can only access by four flights of steep stairs or the actual hill itself. There are also a couple of cobbled inclines. If I could make one change in the apartment it would be there was a mirror by a plug socket so I could blow dry & straighten my hair without second guessing. But that's just a minor detail. We personally loved the area and the apartment and I would definitely go back if staying in Cape Town. Security was very good throughout the De Waterkant area, security guards on most corners. Felt safe and didn't feel threatened at all. African Elite were extremely helpful with any query we had and solved any issue however small. A joy to deal with them

I have rented property with African Elite, and whilst the properties are lovely, many owned privately and managed by African Elite.

Some days after checking out I received notification that the Property required an extreme clean, in spite of paying over the odds for a cleaner supplied by African Elite, plus my own cleaner who also came in weekly. Additionally an exit meeting took place with one of the African Elite staff who shook hands and waved us off. This was clearly a ruse to retain the deposit since I was now 6,000 miles from Cape Town. After discussions the claim was dropped by African Elite, but it left a very bitter taste.

Additionally I personally introduced 6 further clients to African Elite and should have received a commission. This was unknown to me since I am simply a "man on the street" and not a travel agency or tour operator. This was not made apparent to me that a commission was payable.

There are plenty of agencies in Cape Town, this is one not to do business with. This is not a recent trip rather one some time ago/ So whilst I have said it is this month. It refers to a previous period. The same staff member is still at African Elite.

We stayed in a self contained apartment in de Waterkant area of Cape Town. The apartment was spotless, all facilities were good, The apartment was at the top of a very steep road which some people would find difficult to negotiate but it didn't bother us. Within minutes we were at the very good Spar Market where we could get all of our provisions and wine as well! There were numerous places to eat and drink within and easy walk down, the walk to the V & A Waterfront was about 25 minutes a bit longer than the 15 mins they suggest in the brochure. Took me nearly 15 minutes to run there :-)
Recommend this place if you are reasonably active and don't mind a hill.

We spent 6 nights in Juliette 504 (family of 6). Easy access to V&A set in beautiful surroundings overlooking canal. Excellent security. Stylish, well maintained apartment suited us well, but with minor niggles. No full-lenghth mirrors, two bedrooms did not have powerpoints (for hairdryer) near mirror, kitchen not over- surplied with fairly basic needs if you were intending to self-cater. Nearest supermarket 20 minutes walk. However, would still definitely recommend this accommodation.

Used them for a 3 bdrm ( 6 person) apartment in the Waterkant area for a week. The initial apartment was beautifully appointed as a classic renovation in Italian flair (the owners are Italian we were told) After a few days we had sewage odour in the apartment (I think a known issue, but the water restrictions may have played a part), and they moved us to another apartment in the next street. More modern glass and steel feel, but still excellent. You often get to understand more about an operator when things are less than ideal, and the company minimised the disruption and corrected the problem. Apartment very well serviced. Good communicators. Good location, Uber everywhere or walk around safe and patrolled neighborhood. Great local supermarket 5 min walk away. Rooftop pool and BBQ in addition to full kitchen etc.

Still waiting for an apology from the "boss" a week later. Checked into what we thought was going to be an amazing week. Not cheap but we decided to take it none the less. ( we took two apartments at R3500 a night)
Putting up with low pressure, toilets not flushing we carried on and by Wednesday things seem to be working.
When we viewed the apartment a few months before we where told that the deck and pool where part of common use. We enjoyed it on Monday and Tuesday. Suddenly on Wednesday a pub opened up and after a few hours of doing what we had done the two previous nights, where told very rudely that we needed to leave. In fact to a point when they actually called security as we refused to leave. Cheeky little manager. I was assureds the next morning that she would be dealt with and I would be called. Not to be. Never again. There are many stunning places in Cape Town but this is not one!!!

The apartment in Cape Quarter is stylish, clean, comfortable and secure. With a bedroom, living room, well-appointed kitchen and deck, it's so much better than a hotel room you for a week's stay. The views from the desk are amazing. There are two large TVs and a number of movie channels, but who has time to watch them with this glorious view.

There's a Spar market and a bottle shop in the complex, as well as several places to eat.

There is also a small outdoor pool, with cushioned lounges, umbrellas, a BBQ area, and views of the surrounding hills that make it hard to believe you're right in town.

The only draw-backs - there could be more wardrobe space, and the hanging space is suitable for shirts but not trousers or long coats. And the wifi is not free.

The organisation was excellent, and the daily cleaning service was good. A very comfortable stay.
