It was a great place to adjust to the time zone and recover from jet lag
There was always somebody around to answer questions or help out. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic stay all round, and we'll definitely be back on our next trip to SA!!!
It appeared that we were in one of the cheapest room which was not the best. Your experience of how you rate the hotel depends on which room you have.
Our room was small with a 4 x2 feet balcony with one tiny plastic chair and a wall which made it claustrophobic.
Our shower leaked and there was tepid water after running the shower for five minutes.
There was no comfy chairs to sit on to relax. The room had no view and limited day light.
We were given two bottles of water on the first day only and told that we would have to pay for more.
When you pay for three days, the expectation is to get water everyday.
The telly was quite small.
On the plus side, the room and hotel were spotless and very clean. The bath products were of good quality.
The bed was comfortable.
The staff were amazing, charming and efficient.
It was not warm enough to swim in the small pool but there were plenty of sun beds.
The breakfast was really good with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries. Staff also cooked hot dishes of omelette, sausages and bacon on request.
I think the experience in staying in this hotel would depend on which room you get. The better rooms have more amenities but the lower level rooms are somewhat lacking.
On arrival, the welcome we received from Shelly was truly warming & caring. She has such a big heart & she couldn’t do enough for us! We felt at home from the moment we arrived until the day we had to unfortunately leave.
We had initially only booked two nights but later returned the following week for a further two nights, this was not only down to the attentiveness of Shelly & her huge personality, but also the quiet & calmness of the place.
The staff were outstanding, always thinking one step ahead.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel & rooms were spotless compared to other hotels we stayed at in South Africa during our trip.
The breakfast was wonderful. The choice of food was outstanding, especially for a vegetarian, nothing was too much trouble.
We felt very safe & secure, with the added benefit of feeling so relaxed.
I hope we can return sometime soon!
First, the location is great: centrally located in the Green Point neighborhood which has plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Additionally, it is a short drive/uber to Sea Point, Camps Bay, V&A Waterfront, and CBD. There is a supermarket and liquor store within a 5 min walk, along with a great breakfast spot, Jason's Bakery.
Additionally, the staff is wonderful and go out of your way to make sure everything is wonderful. Shelly is great at the front desk, and wants you to enjoy your stay. She even ironed clothes for us because the rooms do not have irons.
The hotel provides breakfast included in the stay, but we did not take advantage so I cannot comment on it. Also, there are 2 pools. One overlooking the neighborhood as an "infinity type" and a small plunge pool. There is ample lounge seating around the pools.
We stayed in the Deluxe Double Room "XXL" and it was huge along with a private patio. The toilet was separate from the rest of the bathroom, there was a sitting area, and a king size bed. The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower, tub, and two sinks. The bed was comfy and the pillows were solid.
The negatives of the place are that it still uses keys and there are multiple keys for the front door, room door, patio door, etc. Additionally, you have to use a key to get out, not just in. In the day and age where things are automated or on a key card, this was frustrating. Also, the place doesn't have a generator and is at the mercy of Cape Town's rolling blackouts (The city is divided into a big grid and depending on the time of year there are multiple blackouts for 2 hours at a time). If the weather is very hot, you will be without air conditioning. If you need to use a hair dryer or straightener in the morning and the power is out then, you will be without that. Etc. This was not disclosed up front and I think if you are a 5 star hotel guests should be aware that there is potential for multiple hours every day that the power will be out. Suggestion to make sure you check the power situation before booking or know that you will be okay without power at times.
Overall, the stay was pleasant and we had no issues. Just that there are some things to be aware of that I wanted to share to potential guests.

The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and very spacious, with quirky artwork throughout the hotel.
Shelley the manager was just fabulous- so friendly and always on hand to help with any questions, and breakfast was lovely too, always fresh and beautifully presented.
We would definitely recommend the Dysart and would absolutely stay here next time we’re in CT.
"Very narrow street. If you are planning on having a car, arrange with Dysart for parking inside. Only 2 spots available"Read full review
