When we arrived for a week long stay at Kingslyn we were greeted by the owner,Rachel. She was a breath of fresh air from England and made us feel completely at home .This was repeated by the staff as we met more of them as our week progressed. There was nothing to fault; the breakfast room and lounge were stunning as was the food and our room.It was always a pleasure when we got"home" to chat withRachel or the staff about our day and be given more information or guidance about anything to do with our stay in Cape Town . There is only one place to stay and this is it! We were sorry to leave but had the western cape to see! We thought we might return to Kingslyn after our tour but the beauty of the Cape overtook us and we ran out of time. We are sorry we missed a last conversation with Rachel.…
I loved the sun-room for breakfast and the host was great. I appreciated his assistance and recommendations. The bedroom and bathroom were good. I would have preferred a bit better natural lighting in the room, but the breakfast space made up for it.
Rachel and her crew welcomed us very warmly. The took our luggage upstairs and offered us their welcomes drink. We received a lot of information about things to see/do in town. The room is beautiful decorated, big, clean, big bed, quiet area. The bathroom looked out of a movie. We would really recommend this place. There's free parking around the corner, waterfront is 5-10min drive.
From the time we arrived till we left, Rachel, Christina and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful, cheerful and courteous. My sister lost her handbag at a restaurant, and Rachel could not have more helpful, from taking messages from the police, help with the taxi service, arranging a massage session, and endless post of tea. Christina was always happy to make us tea, (even after hours), laundry and opening the door to let us in when we forgot/lost our key with the bag. Thank you for making a difficult time (due to loss of handbag) bearable.
Kingslyn is a beautiful boutique hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom was lovely with a large shower. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. The location in Green Point was perfect for us, a nice walk or short taxi ride to the V&A. Rachel is lovely, very friendly and helpful with advice about the local area and restaurants etc. Don't hesitate to stay here.
