We had a terrible experience here. Our first room was up the tiniest staircase looking over the resident homeless guy’s spot. The room itself was like a shoebox with hardly any room to move around the bed & the bathroom was dated, was dirty and smelt so bad. We lasted about 3 minutes before going to ask for another room. We literally had to beg to be moved & we were told the manager was on his break so we would come back in an hour. Eventually, we were moved in to a 2nd room. Initially we thought it was clean although dated but a closer inspection proved us wrong. We were even put off getting a shower. We asked to be moved again, to be told the hotel was full. It was like a backpacker’s hotel. Russian girls next door sat outside talking, screaming & jumping in pool until early hours. When we called reception there was no answer. We reported this the following day but nothing was done & we had the same problem for a 2nd night. We moved to a 3rd room the following day. This room had been renovated and had a good view, however fixtures & fittings were badly fitted, the door didn’t close properly, bathroom door fell off more than once & there was 1 double socket to supply a fridge, microwave, fan (cos non of the rooms had air con) & kettle. No mirror for hair drying. To top it off we had to pay for parking, something which I have never come across in all the hotels I’ve stayed. Will not be recommending this place and will definitely not be back!

We stayed for 5 days here and our apartment, though a bit dated in terms of structure (windows etc) was clean and very spacious. We had beach views and this made the ideal base for exploring the coast and central Cape Town. The pools are both very small but nice and you can use the camps bay hotel facilities if you choose

We stayed here for 3 nights and I think we were spoilt as we had just arrived after a safari at an amazing reserve but this place at least seemed clean when we arrived. Over the stay we realised that it wasn’t that clean at all as bottoms of feet were dirty if nothing was worn and the living room rug and furniture was quite dusty. We didn’t get clean towels the whole time we stayed which was disappointing. One thing that was great is that we could use the facilities at the bay hotel up the road which was very luxurious. We spent a day where we used the spa, sat by the pool and had Lucy. The security of camps bay village was good though as huge fences and gates with 24 hour guard who would patrol regularly and as we had to walk up the road with our suitcases when we arrived the receptionist and the security guard carried our bags for us. I also must comment that the place had a lovely pool area and is situated well for some great restaurants. Try the cod father for great seafood, the butcher for steak. There is also Dizzy’s under cod father where we saw live music and got a takeaway pizza.
