What a place to stay!

Located at the end of Camps Bay away from Lions Head so no bustling crowds outside but very short 2 minute walk down to the front to the beach and the numerous restaurants.

It is everything that the website says and more. We were lucky enough to get upgraded into the Penthouse Suite with Pool which was a fabulous treat.

It was as close to perfect as you can get. Our room had everything you needed.. and more! The fridge was stocked with ample food choices for a delicious breakfast (yoghurts, ham, cheese, eggs, bacon, smoked salmon, butter, jam, milk, OJ, water) as well as champagne, wine and beer (extra charge). Delicious croissants and mini baguettes are left on your door handle at about 7am.

The bed was supremely comfortable and the room so quiet! The hotel is stylish. The front desk staff were brilliant and incredibly on the ball and helpful. Everything just works!

Each room gets a free parking space under the hotel and there are beach/pool towels.

Try an get a room as high as possible. We went up to the roof bar to sip a sundowner and watch the sunset.. something not to be missed.

Tip: book restaurants in advance if you're staying during busy periods. Lots of restaurants to choose from. We visited 3 : The Cod Father, The Bungalow and Hussar Grill and all were full to the gills and we wouldn't have got in if we hadn't booked!

I can't rave about my experience and stay at this boutique hotel enough! Everything from the pre-trip communication from the team, to the friendly and helpful staff, to the amenities and facilities at the hotel and everything in between. The location in the heart of Camps Bay cannot be beat. The style of the hotel and art elements throughout make walking through the hotel a real treat. Incredible views of the sea right outside your window or from the pool/bar areas. Rooms were very modern and well-equipped, and the stocked fridge and freshly baked bread and pastries delivered to our door each morning was the cherry on top! My husband and I stayed here during the Covid-19 pandemic (where travel in South Africa is allowed) and were very impressed by the strict measures in place by the hotel and staff (which made us feel at ease and gave us peace of mind that we could holiday in a safe and sanitised environment). Would definitely visit again :)

This Miami style boutique hotel is one of a kind in Cape Town. You feel instantly welcomed by the staff team and you are then welcomed into a fully sanitised room - guaranteed sealed sticker when you open the door to your room. The fridge is stocked with exactly the right amount of fruit, water and breakfast ingredients - even enough for a lazy lunch at the pool. You can also customise what you want in the fridge which is great.
All the facilities are sanitised and clean. It’s a space where you feel safe during these uncertain times. The location is perfect to stay fit with the Atlantic seaboard offering great walks and runs. Afterwards you can workout in the sanitised fitness room ( you can also book a personal trainer). A great place to also pick up a new fitness routine.

And final bonus - the owner has impeccable taste in art which will inspire any art lover.

An excellent experience allround.

South Beach Camps Bay is a fabulous place to stay!

South Beach has an excellent location overlooking Camps Bay beach and a short walking distance to the Camps Bay strip.

The suites are spacious, bright and beautifully decorated with large bedroom / living areas, spacious bathrooms and an extremely well equipped kitchenette.

The suites are stocked with high quality amenities as well as a vast range of drinks and snacks. They offer complimentary water and high quality tea / coffee, as well as a vast range of purchasable alcoholic drinks, non alcoholic drinks and snacks. The complimentary in room breakfast is superb; the fridge is stocked bacon, eggs, salmon, cheese, chicken, fresh fruit, granola and milk and then fresh bread and croissants are delivered daily - it really is superb.

The roof top pool, sun deck and bar is a fabulous place to spend a few hours suntanning and relaxing. There is also a new “residents bar” if you fancy a pre or post dinner drink.

South Beach also offers complimentary bicycles and a small gym as well as good quality WIFI and secure onsite parking.

The staff are superb; available, attentive, friendly and helpful.

An all round delightful experience!

I won’t stay anywhere else in Camps Bay!

When we booked the last night in Cape Town after our trip we expected more, especially for what we paid. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable but the floors were not cleaned properly and the tiles had several spots. The furniture had various marks and scratches, the window was difficult to open and to close. Breakfast is taken in the room, all the necessities are available in the fridge and bread and croissants are left on the door handle. The location is certainly convenient, very close to the sea and restaurants, very helpful and friendly staff, but the structure is not worth the money we paid.

When i was looking for a place to stay the first thing that came to my mind was the cleanliness and safety measure take by the hotel in order to keep their guests and staff safe during this time. I looked through the South Beech Camps Bay website and noticed they were the only hotel i could find that met the international standards recommended by both the World Health Organisation and the Centre of Disease Control (CDC) in the USA.
For me this was the most important part. I have stayed in this hotel before and i was super impressed again with the level of professionalism taken on by the staff to make sure i felt safe at all times. The rules and regulation implemented by them were amazing. I felt safe at all times and i noticed the level of cleaning in the rooms and the common areas were attended to with the utmost detail as well.

To the South Beech Team, Guys thanks you all so much the effort you have put into your hygiene protocol and for always making my stays the most memorable and amazing especially this time during COVID-19

The location of South Beach could not be better. This Miami vibe hotel, with its gorgeous art work just delivered beyond expectation.

Rooms are super spacious with the comfiest of beds. The bathrooms large with an awesome walkin shower and our room had a great "lounge" area providing and extra "separation" from your bedroom. I in particular loved the breakfast concept, and before 8am had delicious hot baguettes and croissants delivered.
The rooms / kitchenettes are extremely well stocked with everything you would need from cutlery, crockery and the basic pantry items and a well stocked fridge.

The location is fantastic, just a stone throw away from Camps Bay Beach and the tidal pool which attracts early morning risers. The strip offers a large number of restaurants, cafes and bars however the hotel also has an easy order-in /dine-in option with Primi.

We hired bikes for the morning and cycled to the Oranjezicht Farmers Market, which just added to a great stay.

I can honestly say that the hotel offers a unique Miami feel down to the white leather interiors and its two pool decks with fantastic pieces of art throughout the property, making this hotel truly unique.

Stay here, the hotel wont disappoint!

I chose South Beach because of its location and excellent previous reviews. I was a bit apprehensive as new to this concept preferring instead to stay at the 12 Apostles. It turns out this was very much an inspired decision.

Whilst most of us can only wish to buy a property on location alone, at least we can rent one and this is it. The views are magnificent with the beach (and rock pool) on the other side of the road, bars and restaurants just a few steps away and yet not that close that the noice and crowds will bother you. Parking is at a serious premium here on Camps Bay so you get your private parking. The pool is amazing with clear glass as well as solar heated to go with it. How amazing it is to sip a cocktail there at sunset. Inside the corridors are decorated with well chosen great art pieces making it feel very special.

The room was very well prepared and cleaned. I really like how they manage their Covid obligations with the stickers on the doors. What a transparent clear idea putting ownership of responsibility on names. The layout is great, fittings luxurious with an abundance of Charlotte Rhys toiletries. The Spa bath is amazing, luxurious too and working very well. You can really enjoy as Bath Salts are not only provided but also daily replenished. It also has the biggest TV’s (yes plural) I’ve seen in a rented accommodation as it must be a 65” and both with sound bars into which you can plug your phone if you wish via USB-A or Bluetooth direct. The bed is luxurious and comfortable and you can see the sea and beach when lying on it.

There is a Nespresso machine and food is served to your apartment daily so you can manage breakfast time to suit you. Every item has been suitably chosen with local as a preference. Everything is delicious and top quality. Crockery is all top class and plentiful.

You are included in a WhatsApp chat direct to assistance 2 days prior to arrival and any matter reported there is attended swiftly and efficiently. What a great way to do things.

All the staff is friendly and smiling and ready to assist you and ensure your stay is special.

Improvements would include offering guests a checklist for breakfast with a small variety of breads and pastries as it’s the same every day. A bread knife would also be a great addition in the kitchen.

Tip for maximizing your stay: Visit a farm shop prior to arriving and stock up on Aperitifs drinks and condiments then sip and relax from the comfort of your balcony watching a sunset or simply the world go by.

Overall, you can’t go wrong at South Beach so 100% recommended. We can’t wait to come back.

First time for us in Camps Bay (from the UK) and we booked South Beach after extensive research and review reading !!
We stayed in room 1 and our friends stayed in room 5 and all four of us had a great 12 day stay.
The hotel is modern with great artwork displayed around the place and is ideally placed just a 5 mins walk from the main Camps Bay beach and restaurants area. We loved the location as it was just nicely away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to stroll there whenever you fancied.
The pool areas were great (2 to choose from) and we spent quite a few days just chilling and enjoying the sun ( south westerly facing so you have sun most of the day and the sunsets are fantastic). Pool bar service was available which was nice and the bar/pool team were great.
The rooms are very modern with everything you need and a great size with big TV showing loads of channels (Netflix and Premier League footy matches!!) Refreshments are available in your room at an additional cost but water/fruit and lunch things are provide and your fresh croissants and baguettes are delivered to your door each day. Tea and coffee are provided too complimentary. Bikes and laundry facilities are also provided but we didn’t use them.
Gotta say thank you to the front desk team, the ladies who worked during the day were friendly, welcoming and hopeful and the lads who covered the evening and night shifts were great too.
The only negative thing we would say was that some of the areas inside and outside the rooms were looking a little tired and needed some maintenance but don’t let this small negative put you off staying and the rest of the experience was fantastic. We would highly recommend staying at SB especially if you are first timers to Camps Bay, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks to the team there for a fantastic time in Camps Bay

Really smart hotel just 5 minks walk from the bars & restaurants in Camps Bay. I would say this is a perfect location as the centre of Camps Bay looked pretty busy in the evening but the South Beach is just on the southern edge of the beach, set back a little bit.

We really liked: very smart & comfortable bedroom, excellent shower, nice (small) pool are a & pool bar, 5 min walk to centre of Camps Bay, garage facilities & friendly & approachable staff.

We checked out at 11.00 am but didn't need to leave to the airport until 8.00pm. They were really helpful with this. We were able to hang around the pool for as long as we wanted, could use the garage all day & were able to use a shower room to get changed & freshen up before we left. When you've got a long final day that's really helpful.

The "breakfast" was OK, but this mainly involved croissants & some butter, cheese & jam etc in the fridge. No problem with that at all but we, in the end, preferred to walk down the street to get a cooked breakfast. We strongly recommend Primi for this.

Overall a 100% recommend.

Bonjour, We stayed on the first floor above the garage and the view was nice but it didn’t have a complete view of the sea. The second floor would be much better but not sure on which floor the pool suites are. The people who work there are very helpful so the best is to ask them for a room with the best view. Hope it was helpful.

Hi LoveFarm, Thank you for this very important question. Cape Town is experiencing a severe drought. We have however made provisions well in advance to ensure all our guests have water during their stay and we will elaborate on this in the coming week. Regards, South Beach team
