Exceptional Boutique Hotel with incredible location and ocean views, outstanding service and beautiful and spacious rooms. The property features a rooftop pool and bar as well as an eclectic art collection. This is by far the best hotel in Cape Town.
I chose South Beach because of its location and excellent previous reviews. I was a bit apprehensive as new to this concept preferring instead to stay at the 12 Apostles. It turns out this was very much an inspired decision. Whilst most of us can only wish to buy a property on location alone, at least we can rent one and this is it. The views are magnificent with the beach (and rock pool) on the other side of the road, bars and restaurants just a few steps away and yet not that close that the noice and crowds will bother you. Parking is at a serious premium here on Camps Bay so you get your private parking. The pool is amazing with clear glass as well as solar heated to go with it. How amazing it is to sip a cocktail there at sunset. Inside the corridors are decorated with well chosen great art pieces making it feel very special. The room was very well prepared and cleaned. I really like how they manage their Covid obligations with the stickers on the doors. What a transparent clear idea putting ownership of responsibility on names. The layout is great, fittings luxurious with an abundance of Charlotte Rhys toiletries. The Spa bath is amazing, luxurious too and working very well. You can really enjoy as Bath Salts are not only provided but also daily replenished. It also has the biggest TV’s (yes plural) I’ve seen in a rented accommodation as it must be a 65” and both with sound bars into which you can plug your phone if you wish via USB-A or Bluetooth direct. The bed is luxurious and comfortable and you can see the sea and beach when lying on it. There is a Nespresso machine and food is served to your apartment daily so you can manage breakfast time to suit you. Every item has been suitably chosen with local as a preference. Everything is delicious and top quality. Crockery is all top class and plentiful. You are included in a WhatsApp chat direct to assistance 2 days prior to arrival and any matter reported there is attended swiftly and efficiently. What a great way to do things. All the staff is friendly and smiling and ready to assist you and ensure your stay is special. Improvements would include offering guests a checklist for breakfast with a small variety of breads and pastries as it’s the same every day. A bread knife would also be a great addition in the kitchen. Tip for maximizing your stay: Visit a farm shop prior to arriving and stock up on Aperitifs drinks and condiments then sip and relax from the comfort of your balcony watching a sunset or simply the world go by. Overall, you can’t go wrong at South Beach so 100% recommended. We can’t wait to come back.…
Fabulous apartment with a beautiful view . Such a lovey place to unwind and relax for a few days . Kerry,Kelly and the rest of the team were friendly ,warm and welcoming . Hope to return soon . Thank you
We have just returned from a ten-day break at this sea facing boutique hotel. The art deco character adds to the charm with whitewashed walls and bright lighting. Our suite (Number 2) had a lovely terrace which we used most of the time with direct access to one of the hotels two swimming pools, this one was slightly cooler than the top floor where there was also a bar. The room itself at 60 sq m was extremely spacious and comfortable with a massive and comfortable bed, large sitting area and a fully functioning kitchen. Breakfast is a make yourself with fresh bread delivered each day (although a bit of variation might be nice) and the fridge is well stocked with provisions and a Pick and Pay a couple of minutes walk away if you need anything else. The bathroom is very spacious with a large bath tub and separate walk in shower. One thing to be aware of is that you cannot purchase alcoholic drinks in Camps Bay so if you need them you need to shop elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants in Camps Bay and both the City and Waterfront districts of Cape Town are only a short and cheap ride away with Uber. The hotel has undercover secure parking, a bonus in Camps Bay. Staff are all friendly and enthusiastic with nothing too much trouble. We will most certainly return.…
This hotel is very conveniently located on the beach along from all the restaurants and shops. Even though it has it own pools it is opposite the tidal pool which add a nice option. The staff are extremely helpful here, reception in particular helped us during our stay, from booking restaurants to helping with trips and more. The only thing that stops us from giving the hotel 5 stars is their approach to breakfast. Each room has its own kitchen, which is nice if you want to use it but it is also to be used to prepare your own breakfast. The delivery of bread to your door is nice, but needs to be more varied. The selection of fruit and other breakfast servings is great and good quality but do I really want to cook bacon in my bedroom? Not really. I also wonder how much waste there is serving breakfast in this way. You are given everything you need but in our opinion, we prefer a breakfast prepared when on holiday. This aside, it is a great hotel, well located, very clean, well serviced and the staff are extremely helpful.…
