We found the hotel staff exceptionally friendly and helpful which made our experience particularly memorable. The Hotel is well decorated, clean, light and has a welcoming feel about it. Also great location with good restaurants and the beach on it's "doorstep"
My husband and I spent a night to celebrate my birthday at this gorgeous location. I can highly recommend it. Definitely one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in and the views are magnificent. I was beyond impressed with the delicious birthday cake that was in our room along with a hand-written birthday note. My only reason for not giving them the full 5 star rating is I only found out that their rooftop bar is closed during Winter on the day of arrival. Very disappointing as we had to venture out of the hotel to go in search of birthday sundown cocktails. But I reckon this will not be a problem in Summer.
We were treated this week-end to the incredible Marly Journey experience. From our arrival, all the members of the Marly team went beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Our sea-facing room with its tasteful decor and furniture and ample sized secluded balcony added to the Marly experience. The journey was topped by a visit to the Marly spa with its relaxing ambiance and world class therapists. Our included dinner at Paranga was professionally served from a menu with a wide selection of tasty options. To complete the Marly Journey was the breakfast served at the sea-facing La Belle restaurant with the same exceptional level of service that we are used to from all the Kove restaurants. THANK YOU to the Marly team.
This was our second stay at the Marly and our expectations were exceeded. We have stayed in the Cape waterfront before and this is such a better location for overall vibe, quality and restaurant choices. Also, you can't beat having the beach right outside your door! Rooms are modern and spacious. Not a bad view in the hotel. Staff were very gracious and the breakfast (though a bit slow) is delightful!
Beautiful, clean, trendy hotel in the heart of Camps Bay. The location cannot be beat, with tons of surrounding restaurants and shops and the beach across the street. Our sea-facing room had spectacular views of the sunset every night. The service was top notch, especially by Pedro. He catered to our every need - from providing beach towels to arranging a private driver to explore the Cape - all with a smile and professionalism. We explored all over Cape Town, and after seeing other neighborhoods, we felt even more pleased with our decision to stay at the Marly in Camps Bay!
Beautiful hotel and perfectly situated to all things. Right on the beach, multiple restaurants (that were delicious!) walking distance away. Our furthest walk was to the Codfather (very good), and that took us less than 5 minutes. Shopping in the same building and a little grocery store. I will absolutely stay here again.
Stayed at The Marly for 1 night as part of a 1 week trip to the Cape Town area. This has to be the most amazing hotel in Cape Town. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and the staff are very friendly and do so much to help! During my stay it was my birthday and they surprised me with cake and champagne in the room. Amazing experience - I will be back! Thank you!
My husband and parents and I stayed here for 6 nights. The location is stunning and the rooms facing the ocean have great views. I was concerned on the noise from the street that others had voiced but it was honestly fine - with the windows shut and the fan on you could not hear anything - and I’m pretty picky. Overall the service was great and everyone was very kind and accommodating. The rooms and building are already showing wear and tear and that would be our main comment on the place - the patios could also use a bit more cleaning - but understanding it’s hard with a million birds hanging around the place. We used the spa quite a bit as well and they were lovely and also it was great value for international travellers.
Monterrey Bay Plaza hotel & Spa is 4 * in Pacific Grove CA with Bad service at high costs.Design of hotel isn't convenient for guests. From the lobby you have to get a lift to the lower level and then walk a long way past Schooners rstnt to another elevator to get to the rooms. The hotel has 5 floors with a Spa on the 5th floor.Guests staying on the 4th floor would have the displeasure of loud pounding sounds at 7AM daily from the Spa above them.Front desk staff have varied standards of service and when calling them from the room it takes a long time to get through. Lobby bar is busy thanks to the excellent service provided by Imed the bartender who has excellent customer service.Without Imed, the bar wouldn't be busy.Schòoners rstnt makes mistakes by serving the incorrect dish to the guests instead of what has been ordered. This rstnt also takes a long time to answer their calls.Pisces,Monica and Sam at Schooners provide good service including a few other staff.Guests floors lack signs opposite the elevators informing guests NOT to speak loudly along the corridors after 10pm at night thus disturbing the sleep of other house guests.Rooms aren't soundproof.Toiletries in room are minimal unless U ask for it.Pillows aren't comfortable.I definitely wouldn't Recommend this hotel to Tourists or others.Cannery Row where this hotel is located also lacks great restaurants. The view of the ocean is the best but tourists require the entire trip to Pacific Grove to not simply be about the ocean view.An appropriate description of Pacific Grove is that it is for old timers or ppl into watersports. It isn't a VIBRANT place to visit. We spent 15 nights there at high rates only to be greatly displeased.Shops shut early at night as well & there are only a few of them.Holidays should be fun with great hotels, shops and restaurants especially if the Tourists aren't into watersports and sleepy towns like Pacific Grove. What a disappointing and expensive trip for us at US$20,000.…
I stayed at the Marly for two nights (5th may to 7th may) under the recommendation of a friend for her wedding guests. We had also stayed there the weekend before as it was easier for all wedding guests to stay in the same hotel. We were satisfied with the staff and services until the day we checked out and realized my friend was mossing cash and my diamond ring was stolen. I cannot comprehend how this can happen at a 5 star hotel… go figure
