We had my daughter's 13th blockbuster birthday at the hotel I cannot rate the service highly enough, everything ran so smoothly The girls enjoyed a lunch and movie in their cinema My daughter was sung to and given a gift from the hotel, things we just didn't expect but added that something extra to make her day special The food was superb and portions huge that all the girls took home takeaways! Thank you to 12 Apostles and Juanita for the amazing service from beginning to end!

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here on our first leg of our honeymoon and we literally wanted to cancel the rest of our trip to stay longer. Our experience was amazing. Every single person at 12 Apostles, from chambermaids to concierge to wait staff to upper management, all make you feel like the most important person in the hotel.

This iconic South African Hotel certainly lives up to its name and five star reputation and is part of the Red Carnation Hotel Group, whose head office is in London. My wife and I stayed for a week in March 2024. The service offered is outstanding and every member of staff is extremely well-trained, to give guests a wonderful feeling of care and friendliness, but without being familiar. Breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the ocean, was a delight, with a large choice of hot dishes as well as a cold buffet, including oysters and mimosas, and the most wonderful seed bread, made to the recipe of the hotel group’s Founder and President, Bea Tollman. This is not to be missed! In the evening the terrace of the restaurant, and the Leopard Bar above, provide an exceptional atmosphere and vantage point from which to watch the sun go down with an evening drink, before a delicious dinner - and the fillet steak in the Azure Restaurant was the best that we could remember tasting for years. Without fail, the staff were friendly and obliging. A major advantage which we discovered was the Hotel’s complimentary shuttle bus service for guests, to and from Camps Bay and the bustling Waterfront in Cape Town. This made exploratory expeditions really stress free. Our stay coincided with the internationally famous Cape Town Cycle Tour Race, and, with the hotel being on the race route, (and access by car therefore being unavailable at all on that day), not only did guests enjoy a grandstand view of the closing kilometres, including cheering on the Red Carnation Hotel Group’s CEO, the Hotel Manager and one of the concierges who were taking part, but in the afternoon a complimentary party was arranged for all guests who wanted to attend, in the hotel’s delightful “wedding garden” with refreshments, live music and entertainments. This was typical of the thought, ingenuity, and little touches at which the hotel seems to excel, in making one’s stay enjoyable and special. As outstanding members of staff, we particularly liked Zintle in Guest Relations, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Also, we would sincerely commend Angus van Arden, the Operations Manager, who was truly professional, and who ensured thoroughly that guests such as ourselves felt well looked after and individually cared about, and dealt most impressively with any little problems which might arise. All in all, we had a most rewarding and memorable stay at this hotel, and I have no hesitation in recommending it, in particular, for the outstanding quality and performance of the staff, at all levels.

Hi - I sent the following email “My wife and I stayed at 12Apostles from 2-8 March this year. I cannot praise highly enough the positive attitude, welcoming personality and thorough professionalism of Tamlyn in your customer service team. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her readiness to “go the extra mile” to ensure we had a great stay at 12 Apostles was exemplary. I have stayed in many top hotels worldwide and would class Tamlyn’s performance amongst the best I have experienced. Outstanding. Her presence has already ensured we come back for three nights next week and we will return to the 12 Apostles again in the future Yours faithfully Chris hetherington”

This hotel is very special because it's small and though luxurious, feels like like home! Took time for a spa treatment and also a movie night due to the bad weather when staying over. Our meals were delish and the staff here were very friendly and attentive. Our highlight was the views that seemed to just draw you in... loved it here!!

This hotel is only 5 stars for their room and drink prices the rest is just a joke. We got our room late after 3pm, mountain view rooms just have un manicured trees in front of it with very little mountain view and small balcony. You can get better food elsewhere as meals are below average. We should have known better before booking as the GM does not respond to reviews here rather saying we have been in contact with you....Sorry but all the challenges here starts with top management. We could not wait to leave and go to the Mount Nelson which was an amazing experience!

Cape Town locals are fond of saying that the guests at the Twelve Apostles Resort and Spa are “the newlywed, the almost dead and the overfed.” And that is true. But there are a variety of other guests (children welcome!) as well, and that should include you too. All are treated to a fine time with comfortable accommodations, fine food and grog and overall good vibes. The first thing guests notice approaching the hotel is the singular setting. The 12A is impossible to miss because it has pulled off something quite remarkable: operating a hotel “at the very tip of Africa” in an isolated, unspoiled location smack dab on the coast of Table Mountain National Park underneath Lion’s Head, yet conveniently accessible to all of the vitality of Cape Town. Just three miles out on coastal Victoria Road from hot-and-happening Camps Bay. The 12A derives its name from the famous Twelve Apostles mountain range, actually a collection of eighteen pristine peaks. This remarkable and commendable non-development stands in stark contrast with the relentless conurbation of the California littoral. This was my first stay with the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, a family-owned group of 16(?) hotels in the UK, EU and South Africa (RCHC is in turn a part of family-owned The Travel Corporation). Because this is a historic, 70-key boutique hotel, it operates with an intimacy and friendliness seldom found in larger, institutional properties. It reminded me a lot of Rosedon, an independent hotel in Hamilton, Bermuda, both in the laid back welcome and blindingly white exterior walls. I reckon it is only a matter of time before hospitality behemoths come after The Travel Corporation to spin off the Red Carnation Collection to assuage their insatiable appetite to add new Marriott Autograph, Hilton Curio and IHG Vignette properties. The 12A hard product is at once upscale and eclectic with hundreds – if not thousands -- of paintings and other unique art along with quirky touches like unexpected “rainbow” carpet in the hallways. Unlike other historic hotels where you hear every footfall and excited utterance of your neighbor, the guest rooms of 12A are comfortable, quiet and full of high-quality amenities. You may, however, want to pack in a pair of earplugs if you’re sleeping in as some antelucan motorcycle enthusiasts roaring up and down Victoria Road might otherwise inspire an early dawn. The F&B is polished, professional and above all, abundant. A special shout out to “Executive Chef Christo Pretorius & His Kitchen Brigade” for the extensive breakfast offerings. Even so, the 12A likes to assert it offers “African warmth, care and smiles… it’s not what we serve, but how and where we serve it.” That was certainly consistent with my experience. Perhaps the single best activity at the hotel costs absolutely nothing: turn your eyes to the sea at sunset for a view unrivaled anywhere in Cape Town, along with the novelty, for Americans, that you’re watching the sun SET over the Atlantic vs. rise. On the other hand, if you’re counting stacks and feel like channeling your inner-Kardashian, there is even a helipad immediately above the hotel to save you the 20-minute commute from the airport. If you have a spare hour, I highly recommend exploring the two-mile Fynbos Trail that starts right at the south edge of the property (you can also branch off from it to explore up or down the coast more extensively as well). Hiking about the hills above the Twelve Apostles and looking out to see it was sometimes hard to discern whether I was in Cape Town or Marin, Malibu or Big Sur (less the giant redwoods) looking out to sea. But there was one unmistakable telltale sign I was in South Africa, not California: whether through concern for “load shedding” blackouts or ambivalence toward native son Elon Musk, during my stay in South Africa I did not see a single Tesla.

Had a lovely stay at the breathtaking 12 Apostles spa resort. The only negative thing (subjectively) is how far it is from the more frequented tourist attractions in Camps Bay and the Waterfront, however, honestly, we didn’t mind the quiet getaway. We did a few of the experiences, for example, the picnic staffed by Godwin was a great Kodak moment that we’ll remember forever. All the staff at the hotel was so friendly and did not hesitate to make us feel as comfortable as possible. A huge thank you to their hospitality. Check in and check out was seamless with their private transport arranged to take us to and from the airport, but if you were to opt for Uber, it would be easy to do so. Hope to return one day to this beautiful city!

We stayed here as part of our wedding anniversary celebration. Location is breath-taking. The hotel had complimentary goodies in our room on arrival which was much appreciated. Our room was horrible unfortunately. A horrible damp smell, toilet not working and the sound of the pool pump right outside. We did notify the desk and we were changed to another room the next day. Staff are very pleasant, friendly but you get the impression they are thought to be extra nice to foreigners and not locals which I found disappointing. Rooms are very std and I feel the price paid does not warrant the stay (especially for us paying in rands). Food was average. I notified the hotel before my stay that i have a fish allergy, no fault of the waiter, i was served with snoek pate which i thought was cream cheese. Ate it and was violently sick for the night. When i told reception, she couldnt be bothered. I would not stay at the hotel again but I would definitely do the picnic again as this was the highlight for us. Tx Godwin! Overall beautiful hotel and good staff.

Dear LyndaljohnsonSA Warm greetings from The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. The team and I appreciate all the valued feedback. Please do accept our sincere apologies for the fish pate the you had, all dietaries are shared with our teams and they should have picked this up, I will be having a meeting with our food and beverage teams to understand how this could have happened, we will also focus on additional training, specifically for dietary requirements. Thanks for the personal mention of Godwin, he is one of our many superstars! I will try and reach out to you so that we may further discuss your recent stay. Kindest regards
