Stayed for 9 nights with Mrs H. Hotel located a 15/20 minute stroll from the plentiful bars and restaurants of Camps Bay. Stayed in a standard room which was spacious, clean and modern. Larger rooms and suites available. Breakfast included in our rate had a wide variety of cereals, fruit, cheese etc. with hot options cooked to order. I believe lunch is available but no evening meal but with plenty of options in Camps Bay a short stroll away (£1.50 by Uber) not an issue. Pool area had sufficient beds with thick mattresses and views of the ocean ahead and the backdrop of Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles. Honesty bar was well stocked and very reasonably priced. The staff without exception were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to the team who maintain the wonderful garden and ponds around the property. Also thanks to Ricardo who checked and settled us in and always stopped for a chat and offers of advice on places to visit. A great base to explore Cape Town and the peninsula. Plentiful parking if you have a car but taxi or Uber widely available and reasonably priced. £10/12 to get to the V&A waterfront.

We stayed in the most expensive, fabulous Oasis Apartment. It was stunning. BUT.... at £500 a night, which we were prepared for but expectations were high, our expectations were sadly not quite met. First of all there were Koi carp in the tiniest filthiest glass container on the terrace.Very sad. The swimming pool, for our sole use, looked fabulous but was absolutely freezing! All the other self catering apartments had breakfast included in the small restaurant/dining room but we had to pay extra. And no aircon. There was a DVD player but no DVDs! Also, we did tell them we booked this as we value our peace and privacy but staff often “popped in” until we changed the sign outside our door to ‘please do not disturb’ . And one day whilst lying by our pool I was suddenly surrounded by 3 or 4 window cleaners who landed on our terrace from above! I was not happy!
The charge for a braai we had was refunded due to breakfast not being included, which was a nice gesture. They did say they would look at our “suggestions”. Very nice people. We would go back but would address concerns beforehand.
The views, the service and the actual apartment were excellent, we just felt these few things were not up to par for the price we paid.
Cleanliness given a 4 due to the poor fish in the filthy glass case.

This is a truly lovely resort which caters for many budgets and party size. It is very clean and the staff cannot do enough o help. A special mention to Ricardo who was super helpful. They operate a really useful and reasonably priced honesty Had a massage whilst there too for a good price
Camps bay is a 15 min walk away and an Uber can be called to return you in the dark for around £1.50 so download the app as alternative taxi may not be found
Taxi from V & A is around £8 and to Kirstenbosh about £12.
The hop on and off bus really worthwhile getting a min 2 days as there are 3 routes including wine routes.
If you are intending to go up table mountain do this a the earLies opportunity. The cable car closed last 5 days so we missed out.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights as a party of 7 in four Classic rooms which they reserved side by side for us. Family gathering.
Nothing was too much trouble, even our last minute requests and forgotten keys!
The rooms are tastefully decorated with complimentary coffee and teas, and a delicious chocolate on your pillow each evening with turndown service.
The hotel does not have a restaurant on site for lunches or dinners, but they do provide a beautifully fresh breakfast buffet with fruits, cereals and cold meats and cheeses on display, and a menu option for any hot cooked breakfast choices. The ladies in the breakfast room are delightful, and again, nothing is too much trouble, even for picky eaters!
They also offer an honesty bar for any liquid refreshments you may desire, and plenty of ice to keep the wine cold.
The grounds around the hotel are immaculate and although a little bit nippy for us this time of year, I'm sure in the warmer months this must be a fabulous place to watch the sun go down with a nice bottle of something cold.
There is plenty of parking on site, although we travelled by Uber when required, and this was not a problem to achieve from the hotel and onto various locations around Cape Town and surrounds. The hotel did organise our airport transfer on our return journey. The grounds are secure and have security onsite during the evenings.
Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable and I will definitely stay there again on any future visits to CT.
Thanks Guys.

On the day we arrived, our flight got in early morning, we brought our bags to be held and much to our surprise, we were able to get our room keys and drop the bag there. We were also offered breakfast even though it was nearing the end of breakfast hours. Our room exactly suited our needs, large bed, and bathroom and had a lovely porch overlooking a succulent garden. Our room seemed to be off a corridor where no one else was staying, which was just fine with us as we never heard any noise at night. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and we only wished they had dinner options as well. The grounds are immaculately kept and the views here are truly outstanding. It is a short walk to restaurants and the beach. The staff here was really wonderful. We were out on adventures most of our time, but every time we came across staff they were most accommodating.

Dear daniellesB8249ZY, we are happy if our guests are happy. So it is wonderful to rad that Ocean View House was the perfect match for your stay in Cape Town. Competing with the many restaurants in Camps Bay and Cape Town would be a challenge if we would offer dinner at night. The good news is though that we have appointed an experienced chef as of Mid August 2022 to enhance our Food and beverage experiences at Ocean View House

Ocean View House is right at the end of Camps Bay, well actually it’s in Bakoven. As a result, it is away from the noise and bustle of Camps Bay but only a lovely 10 minute stroll to the centre.

Katrin the owner has developed a great team, some of them relatively new as a result of the Covid. Mark, is the experienced Manager on site there and is extremely professional and personable. Nothing was too much trouble. Bookings for restaurants were made daily on our behalf. The team at Ocean View throughout are very enthusiastic and keen to please. The breakfast was generally very good, there was a good selection of cold options followed by freshly cooked options.

We had the beautiful Garden Suite, which was the most perfect oasis. Very comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The suite had a conservatory style window which was perfect for sitting in, and looking at the gorgeous garden, complete with a Koi Karl pond, a stream and pretty sea view beyond. Very comfortable, private loungers made us feel we were in a private villa.

A good size swimming pool area was a few steps away and a great touch was the honesty bar, with remarkably quality/value house wines.

We have stayed at some of the most highly rated 5 star guest houses and boutique hotels in Camps Bay, and although a 4 star, this is the only one we wish to return to. It’s a hidden gem indeed!

Ocean View House book-ended our trip to Cape Town. We had only booked for the beginning but it was so great, we decided to return a few days later after our trip to Gondwana Game Reserve.

Ocean View has a brilliant location. It was very easy to go to Boulder Bay and the Cape and very convenient for get to the V&A Waterfront. Given the location and the views we took full advantage. We walked to Camps Bay for lunch, walked to Bootlegger Coffee for a jolt during the day and spent evenings on the deck watching the sun set into the sea. Table Mountain was 10 minutes away and it was easy driving whatever direction we were headed.

Breakfast is part of your stay and it was excellent. Most days lunch wasn't even necessary. They have a self-serve area with fruits, juices and breads and then provide a hot breakfast option.

Usually we don't tend to stay in the same spots as we like to experience variety, but Ocean View's location, service and views were too much to pass up.

We would highly recommend staying at Ocean View House.

Room was lovely, extremely well equipped, very spacious and beautifully designed. The additional bed for our 7 year old was the most comfortable we have ever experienced. Great to have a kitchenette too.

View from the room was good, great views of the sea and directly facing the sunset. We had a Panorama Suite.

Breakfast was ok, the breakfast area next to the pool was a little on the small side but it's a minor issue in the scheme of things. It was a shame they didn't give us warning ahead of time of the scheduled power cut during breakfast on our first morning - they know when it is happening and it would be helpful to warn guests.

The staff were very accommodating of our late departure on our final day which we appreciated hugely. We would definitely return to Ocean View House when we come back to Cape Town.

Dear RoseEm1810, great to hear you had such a great time and felt comfortable during your stay. I am especially pleased to hear the the extra bed option was so fantastic as we have put a lot of thought into make the experience of sharing the room with kids as smooth and comfortable as possible. Yes the load shedding is indeed a pain for us all, I fully agree - although we have Apps and schedules to warn us of the load shedding - it is not always planed load shedding and they happen unannounced and swop amongst stages. If we know we do write it on the weather card the night before so guest can plan accordingly! Hope to see you again - next time with now power restrictions :-)

Overall our stay was great…the ocean view residence is 1 km away from Camps Bay restaurants, which allowed us to take morning and evening walks to and from our place.

We felt at home from the first day of arrival. We enjoyed walking around your beautiful garden and my children enjoyed the pool.

I don’t want to single out any individual, the Kitchen team served us with a smile and they were always accommodative of our request.

The reception and cleaning teams were always professional and greeted us with a smile

Thank you Ocean View Team

The Dube clan will definitely come back

Stayed two nights on the recommendation of a couple we met, just outside Camps Bay, 15 minutes walk, which made it quieter than centre of town. Hotel was very well maintained, not very good if steps would be a problem. The pool area with the breakfast/lunch area & honesty bar was lovely. Staff were very helpful & attentive. We had mountain view, which to say it was of Table Mountain & the Twelve Apostles was one of the best views you could have from your balcony.
